Bert came to visit today...he looks fantastic! He has put weight on and is very happy in his home with his new family. His owner says Bert and his female Greyhound cuddle up together and steal the sofa! He looked a very handsome lad when he left wearing his new Dinosaur patterned fleece! Xxx

Sadly our foster of Bert didn't work out for various reasons (nothing to do with him - the reality of two dogs and their relationship) and we were heartbroken to have to give him back.

Bert is a total diamond dog, quite the loveliest you can imagine, so affectionate and especially cute when he puffs his cheeks, sticks up his ears and sits on-command!

We hope his bloods come back okay and he puts that weight back on quickly and that he finds the right family soon, as he will make a perfect family dog (best have plenty of treats handy as he is totally obsessed by food).

Gorgeous Bert came back to Daybreaks today after being fostered for a while. He has come home with me and had a trip to the vets on the way. Sadly, despite an amazing appetite, he has lost 2kg. He has had bloods taken today and hopefully we can find out what is going on. I will keep you posted....

Just to let everyone know that we are totally in love with Bert...didn't want to jinx things by singing his praises too soon but he really hasn't put a foot wrong since he arrived but best of all he has helped Bugsy (our 5 year old female greyhound) relax, her stress levels have definitely reduced. He's quite an extrovert and so affectionate hard to believe he only been here 2 weeks. Bugsy no longer wakes us up whining at 6am so we're also getting to lie in... feel like we are all winning here.

We took Charlie Mouse into Daybreaks yesterday where we took Bert out to hang out with him (& us!) for an hour or so. They were so pleased to see each other!
He really is a great dog & whoever has fostered him is so very lucky xx

Oh my goodness, I absolutely love this boy. Such an affectionate, calm and beautiful boy, he loves to have some fuss and I spent some time sitting with him this morning. We had a lovely cuddle then he settled down on his bed, and put his paw on my knee so I just had to stay a bit longer with him! He is enjoying his food and has put some weight on already bless him. This boy is ready made for his own sofa, he is gorgeous. Big cuddles for you precious. xxxxxx

We visited today with Charlie Mouse & grabbed Bert to come in with him in the run!

They got on really well, with Bert following Mouse everywhere & copying everything he did, but they didn't run much! Had to laugh as Charlie rucked up a bed to make comfy to get on & Bert ran up & lay out on it, growling softly when Charlie came by - wouldn't mind, but it was Charlie who made it comfy!!

Whoever has Bert will have a lovely, loving old boy. But he needs feeding up!

What a truly lovely boy. Very loving and gentle and lovely markings. He's a bit skinny at the moment but hopefully will soon put some weight on. Walks beautifully. When we left today he was spending some time in the run with Charlie Mouse and having a great time. Xx

I volunteered first time today and Bert was the dog I walked. Such a gentle dog.

I think Bert and Charlie Mouse would have made quite a team! Bert had a great time in the run today. He is a very clever boy... Went through his whole repetoire of party tricks..sitting like a "real" dog and lieing down when asked. He found a little friend to play with who was delighted when he happily retrieved his toys and gave them back to her! He really is a super lad! Xxx

Enjoyed my walk and cuddles with my beautiful Bert today. He just loved his walk - ears up, he is fascinated by the birds in the trees and loves to stare at them! He loves snuffling in the hedges too, and trots beautifully by your side until he spots something that takes his interest - such a sweetheart. He would be a fabulous addition to someone's home - just hope he gets noticed soon. Big cuddles gorgeous boy. xx

I shall have to give the lovely Bert an extra special cuddle when I see him tomorrow. I can't believe he's being overlooked as he is such a poppet. As Clare said, he was a treasure at the Mell Square Roadshow, and I can confirm what a busy, noisy and overwhelming place it was! At one stage he took himself into the gazebo, snuggled down onto the duvets and had a nap! Keeping my fingers crossed that this special lad gets noticed soon. x

I took Bert to the Mell Square roadshow yesterday. He was golden. He jumped straight in the back of the car. Had a bit of a look out of the window then lay down and went to sleep.
Bert was such a good boy at the roadshow. This boy is used to kennel life all of sudden he is in Mell Square next to a carousel covered in lights playing music, a singer with his speakers up to full volume. Bert took it all in his stride. There were lots of people and young children that wanted to fuss him. Bert was so patient and an absolute star with everyone.
There were a couple of spaniels in the square Bert had a look at them but did not seem phased. He was brilliant travelling back and was ready for a well deserved nap. Bert is fantastic grey and loves people. I'm hoping his forever home is just round the corner.
