LOUIS came to the Sutton walk at the weekend.I hope his mum will put a new picture on the website of him.He is totally unrecognisable. His coat is amazing, shinny, lush and thick. He has put weight on and looks a picture of health. It is just wonderful what a few weeks of TLC can do and must make all the hard work down at the kennels worthwhile.Louis also seems much more confident and happily enjoyed lots of cuddles. We wont mention the bike though!!

Hello,

Thank you to everyone who has commented on my lovely new boy Louis, officially a member of the family as of Monday 11th :)

Can I apologise to everyone who left so many lovely comments on Louis's thread, I tried countless times to login and reply, but had probs with my login info. In desperation I emailed Ruth yesterday for help!

It seems the password was playing up, so now I have a new one - which works!

Anyway, update on my big bag of bones boy, he is coming on really well, putting weight on and eating a little less eagerly - well a LITTLE less! His tail is starting to recover from all the dry hard scabs and signs of tufts of fur are beginning to come through. We're now working on the bonny bald thighs bits, Ruth recommended Yumeega, flax oil etc with Omega's 3 and 6, I think the oils will really help him. (This is instead of the one I bought from the chemists last week).

He's also having a probiotic (Biocare - quality stuff, recommended) which we are all on, great for his tum and natural bugs in there etc.)

Michelle and Bertie, can I just say, how much I agree with your comment about keeping a coat on while he out walking. I'm really glad it is coat weather, I would feel the same sense of shame if people saw me out with him in his poor state. As you say, in a few months he will be gleaming and healthy and I can show him off 'naked' :-)

He and Ellie are firm friends now, and from a pretty scared boy he is gaining more trust, he's off the vets this afternoon for a thorough MOT, so we'll see how that goes.

On the personality side of things, he is a happy boy and loves playing with his cuddly toys, is gaining confidence, and is VERY loving and kind - perfect !! x

Best wishes
from
Sam, Lou and Ellie xx

Hi sammyj it is so wonderful to hear how louis is getting on he was so adorable and that fact he was in bad shape only made you love him all the more because dispite his bad condition he was so loving when I met him, congratulations to you both, ps I love the pic of him in his new coat !! when I first had my last dog Charlie ( before Bertie ) he was so thin that I keot his coat on in public for nearly a month because I thought people would think that I was starving him , he came on so quickly that within a few months he was the picture of health and with that his personality and confidence grew !!

So so pleased for you both! (and Ellie)
I know you said he's having Omega 3 oil, but I used this and it's really good. Bob had a bald bum and his hair grew back really well after using this.

Dat's my boy there on the right!! Scars, dents, scabs and bones, bless him, he is adorable and gorgeous, love him dearly. He is starting to put weight on. and the little coat that he does have is starting to take shape in a little bit of a shine, he has a soft brush every night. He's having omega 3 oil, kelp for his bald thigh syndrome, a multivitamin daily and his lovely Burns food with some fresh chicken. Ellie adores him too, he's an angel.xx

What a sweet lad you are, and in just a few short weeks you will be very handsome again. Im sure your bum will appreciate a fur covering as its still pretty nippy outside just now!

There's a really good company that I've just used to test my dogs for worms ... it's only £6 for a basic check and another £6 for a lungworm check too. Speak to Wormcount.co.uk and they'll send you the pots and all the info. Well worth spending £6 as you're only feeding worms not the dog and lungworm can be fatal. Julie

What a lovely boy! Brilliant name too.(Not that we area biased as we named our boy Louis.) Let's hope he starts to get some weight once the worms have gone. I'm certain his enjoying his stay at Boswell hotel.

Guess who looked at me tonight and ended up coming home with me!!! He is just the most gorgeous boy. He had a bath today and smells like baby powder - he has been passing volumes of worms and hopefully his system will be clear soon and he will start gaining weight. Since arriving at our house, he had some dinner, went straight out to toilet and then settled himself on his own on a bed.... bless him - what a fabulous boy!

This gorgeous fella has arrived today straight from the vets where he has been neutered. He has only had 6 races. We have tested him with the cats and he would be good in a home with cats who are confident and used to dogs :-)
