We are absolutely devastated at the passing of our beautiful boy Shaun. I am so very sad to hear the news about Shaun and heartbroken For Helen and Andy. I know how much they adored their beautiful lad. I will always remember the day Andy came to the kennels to reserve him. He walked in and said "my wife wants me to reserve Shaun" and when I asked if he wanted to meet any of the other Greyhounds he said "No, she said it's got to be Shaun" I was so happy for him as he was a quiet black lad who had been waiting a while for his forever home. Shaun has been a big brave soldier today. He went to the vets for a dental and has come back with no teeth, bless him. He has also had cysts removed from neck and front leg so he is feeling rather sorry for himself at the moment. But Shaun being Shaun has managed to have something to eat!! It was great to see Shaun and Peg in the run today...Anyone who remembers Shaun when he was at the kennels will know anything energetic wasn't really his thing :) ...but even he had a run around today! He and Peg had a lovely time. :) If your four legged friend hasn't visited the run yet please bring them along and give it a try. Just give us a call at the kennels and book a slot. :) Xxx

Just wanted to say that Shaun is doing really well now and has made a good recovery. He has finished his second course of antibiotics tonight and is back to eating all he is given and more! Want to give a massive massive thank you to Kate for all her support through this we can't thank you enough for being there through this. Peg is still being Peg bless her. needing lots of love and attention & being a brave girl last week giving blood. Want to give my cuddle tonight to Paddy. it's true what I've read on here about the quiet ones being overlooked. Your time will come Paddy. Shaun was at daybreaks for a long time and didn't put himself forward, he is the most laid back lovely boy you could want. He really is the most laziest greyhound going & the best thing that happened to us. Can't imagine life without the 2 of them now xxx

Sending a huge cuddle to lovely Shaun...after an unfortunate encounter with a cat he has a nasty wound just under his eye which has caused his face to swell. He is feeling very poorly and his vet is keeping a close check on him. The cat is fine. Lots of love to Shaun; I know he is getting lots of TLC from his family, hope he will be feeling better soon. It really was great to see Shaun today...it was a long day for him coming to the kennels to help sign up his new sister Peg. When he got into the car to go home he made himself very comfy in the boot and was fast asleep within minutes! Sending him and Peg my cuddle to share tonight. Xxx

Shaun you lovely lad. Paul and I keep giving you 'virtual' cuddles hoping that someone will take you home, give you real cuddles and give you the home you so deserve. We dont understand why you dont get the attention you so deserve. You were such a good boy when we took you to the Show. Maybe that special home is not ready for you just yet - here's hoping it is soon. We did have a lovely welcome from you last Saturday when we called into the Kennels and we felt that you remembered us from the Show. All our love, Terry, Paul, Flynn, Davey, Millie (aka Sykes) and Nell (aka Molly) XXXXXX - a big kiss from all of us.

We took Shaun to the Show on Sunday and he is a great lad. He was very 'attentive' towards the small dogs for a while but became much better as he saw more of them. He is very loving and enjoyed the attention and cuddles we were giving to him - not to mention my cheese sandwich and Paul's bacon and egg roll! His eyes lit up and almost came out on stalks! He was very well behaved throughout the day and was a pleasure to take. We felt guilty when we took him back to the kennels and if we did not have 4 greyhounds already - Millie, Nell, Davey and Flynn - we would rehome him ourselves - he is lovely. He is a bit reserved and may not 'sell' himself as other dogs do and not portray the lovely boy that he is. We are sure that in a home, he will show his true character. We recently had Nell and she was very quiet and reserved for a few weeks but has blossomed into a very loving girl and she and Millie are inseparable.
