Always a sad time when a hound goes to the bridge to wait for you to join them to cross the bridge together!
Think of the lovely time she has had with you all be it for such a short five months!
RIP Cheeky x x

Such sad news to read. We know how just much she was loved and adored by her family. You can be justifiably proud that you gave her a fantastic 5 months in a caring home environment. Sleep tight beautiful girl.

I am absolutely gutted to hear the news about Cheeky. She was a very very special little girl who I knew very well as I used to look after her a lot for her previous owners when they went abroad for long periods and I also looked after her when she was returned. Run free precious girl - my heart is broken but you were only lent to this world to enrich the lives of others which you have done. You will always have a place in my heart xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Clare was going to foster Cheeky.
We brought Princess to meet her and they were fine. Cheeky was unsure of Amber to start with, but once walking down the lane they were happy together.
We passed the farm down the lane where the dogs bark and she didn't bat an eyelid at them.
Cheeky is a lovely girl, walks well on the lead without pulling.
Unfortunately she is not cat friendly so Clare couldn't take her home - such a shame after a promising start!

Don't think about her age if you are considering offering Cheeky a home, as if she is anything like my 10 year old she has plenty of fun and love to give.

My heart goes out to Cheeky who is back at the kennels.

At the age of 10 years old, this girl should be in a home to call her own. She was returned recently due to a marriage break up and I had her at home for a while and then she had a short holiday in another foster home.

Cheeky is clean in the house but can be a little grumpy around new dogs.... she was great with my 6 but was not so happy with visiting and Trust dogs she didn't know - I think she found it a little overwhelming which is understandable as she has spent her last 5 years in a home as an 'only child'. As our house has constant 'comings and goings' I felt it just wasn't fair on her. She is very settled at the kennels and tends to lay on her back, legs in the air or curled up in a tight ball and loves it if you go in and fuss her.

She is fantastic with children and is very very loving. If you would like any more information about Cheeky, please call Daybreaks on 0121 782 7702 x

Well the German Shepherd has gone home so the greyhounds have returned to a more peaceful existence and Cheeky does make the most of her rest periods, on her back with feet in the air. She is such a nice dog.

Cheeky is a really easy grey to look after, she has settled in very well with my own two greyhounds and seems happy and content even after we had to dogsit a german shepherd too. New pics should be on soon.

I am desperate to find this beautiful girl a home asap. I am on holiday the last week of August and I really don't want to put her back into a kennel when she is used to home life.
Cheeky has been a perfect house guest at ours and is great my with 6 greys who she knows but lives up to her name with my other house guests - and tells them off! She tends to be better with the boys than the girls so if anyone has a lonely male greyhound who would love a cheeky, loving, friendly girl to join their family - please let me know. erm..... rumblesmon.....shy?! I don't think so! She is a happy confident girl (can be a bossy boots at times) but just isn't keen on visiting the kennels so looks miserable!!!! She is being a perfect house guest and I hope I can find her a home very soon. If you would like to meet her - please give me a call! Ruth 0121 782 7702 x

I collected Cheeky on Friday from her home in Stratford as her owners were no longer able to keep her due to a marriage break up. It is a very sad situation as I know she was a very much loved pet. I brought her home with me and she has settled in so very well - she is clean in the house, quiet and good with all my greys. She walks well on the lead and can be left for short periods.
