So far so good. Ellie has been wonderful and seems settled - she didn't whine at all last night when we all went to bed. She's been fabulous on her walks and we absolutely love her to bits. X

What you will come to terms with this dogs are very addictive,we now have 4 lovely girls. All with different character's, but that's what makes us love them.

Thank you for all these lovely words of encouragement. Had home visit today which went really well by a lady called Beryl who was wonderful, encouraging and supportive. So pleased to hear that Ellie has now found her forever home. Our son volunteers at the kennels on a Sunday and says that Ellie has been there ever since he started. He has a real soft spot for this gentle girl and couldn't understand why nobody else as seen how wonderful she is. Good luck to Ellie and her new owner(s), I'm sure everything will work out fine.

Hi Jules1967. You sound just like me just over 4 years ago. Gent was my first 'pet' and I was petrified. In reality, all he wants to do is eat, sleep and 'walkies'. It's amazing how quickly they adapt to a routine and I felt like Gent had been with forever after only a week. Even with our second, Emily, she settled after about a fortnight with Gent's help. Don't be too worried, as you say, you got us all behind you and a quick question or to share a funny story is only a phone-call or web-post away. We've all been first-time Greyhound owners too, so we'll all be happy to share our experiences with you. We are so very excited to be getting Ellie. Home visit tomorrow - everything crossed all OK. Just a little nervous as not had a 'real' pet before but determined to make it work and with all the support of the kennels and volunteers we know there will be no shortage of help. Love to all the other dogs - all gorgeous but we had our eye on Ellie for a few weeks now. XXX

I am SO excited that Ellie has been reserved! I hope everything goes well and we see the 'rehomed' sign up soon! That has made my day :)

Ellie has spent the morning in Brueton Park with Crofty. She travels well in the car and is very easy to walk on the lead.
As she has shown before on Stratford Roadshows she has no problems with any other breeds that she meets while on on the lead. As with Crofty today one small dog off
the lead who was being rather a nuisance prompted a reaction but not in an overly aggressive way.
She is an absolute delight to take out and has been on several roadshows without any problems whatsoever.
This lovely girl is ready and waiting for her permanent home to come along. It surely cannot be far away now.

Having met Ellie we cannot understand why she has not been given her home yet - she is a lovely little girl - calm and very very friendly. Lovely Ellie came to Pets at Home, Stratford, today with sweet Boo. She was perfectly behaved as usual. Her ears stood to attention with curiosity at the various assortment of dogs passing by, but with no aggression whatsoever. She is such a relaxed, friendly, affectionate girl I'm surprised she hasn't been snapped up yet. Hopefully a 'forever home' for you soon Ellie and thank you for being with us today. X

Ellie came with Jack to Tesco, Stratford and what a perfect girl she is. Sweet and gentle, waiting patiently for a cuddle from the adoring humans. She was extremely well behaved. She and Jack make a wonderful couple and travelled so well in the car together, without any fuss. Thank you Ellie for spending your day with us. We loved it. Love and kisses. xxxx

Had to have a chuckle today at Ellie and her kennel mate Jack when it was time for their walk. Jack was deciding whether he wanted to play or go out on his walk, and Ellie was giving him a look of exasperation as though she was telling him to get a move on!!!! They are like a married couple!! Hi chickman - Ellie is at the kennels - she did go out on trial for 5 weeks but the family decided it was not the right thing to do in adopting her as Ellie and their female grey were not 100% happy. She is very good in the kennels, nice and clean and a lovely affectionate girl. We hope she finds a home soon...
