I had the pleasure of talking to Liam's new Mum today and she has asked me to post on her behalf as she is having problems getting on to the website and wanted to answer all the lovely comments. Liam is doing really well, in true Liam fashion he is into everything -helping empty the shopping bags and taking the loofah out of the bathroom to play with!! She is very happy with him, and he with her, and I'm sure we can look forward to the sign going green in the not too distant future. Great news indeed. x

Every week I look at the dogs and hope that Liam has found his home. So pleased that he is now on trial and praying that he does not put a paw wrong xx

Liam has perked up a little today. He didn't eat all of his breakfast but certainly enjoyed the pigs ear he had later. :)) Xxx

Jema it can vary Jed was house trained within a week and I was able to leave him for at least four hours within that time too but they are all different. The key is to give them routine dogs really are creatures of habit. Even when I am on holiday from work I stick to the work hours ie early walk, food at the same time etc. Greyhounds are bright dogs they learn. Hope this helps.

Liam is a lovely, friendly lad. His kennel is normally clean overnight. Please come and see him. He is not feeling too well this afternoon; he has an ear infection and had to have an injection at the vets which made him squeal :(( Giving him my hug today. Xxx

Daisydog remarks" it took just ages for my real personality to shine through and housetraining was the responsibility of my mum not me! We are all special, but we need time and patience and love to become who we really are! "

Have been feeling really sad as Lou Lou and Liam just didn't hit it off. I was so sure they would make lovely companions. I totally adore Liam...he's so loving and cheerful...licked my daughter's face and wagged his tail frantically and loved having his tummy rubbed. Hi chickman, sadly Liam and Lulu just didn't hit it off. Carrie said he is a lovely boy and had fallen for him already! She was very disappointed to have to bring him back so soon. Hi Jemma. Some people foster just to give a dog a break from the kennels for a while.....others foster with a view to rehoming...but want to see how the dog will fit in with their family....and to assess their temperament, especially if they have other dogs. You can still register your interest though, although many foster parents do end up rehoming the dog. Give Ruth or Kate a call at the kennels if you are unsure. By August, their will be many new greys in kennels, so maybe one of them will catch your eye...and maybe your heart. X.

what actually happens when you see a Grey in foster care you like? I have been on this page everyday since April. I cant rehome till August, loved Silky she is in foster care and now Liam too. still very happy for them xxx

He is such a wonderful boy and takes everything in his stride, you would think he would be so fed up being at the kennels for such a long time but he has nothing but a waggy tail and a really affectionate greeting each week that we see him. Just proves what a lovely little character he is and think how he would blossom in his very own home. So prospective owners don't overlook Liam, he is in the very first kennel and take a good look at his eyes, they are absolutely beautiful. X

Liam gets my cuddle today, as one of the last few remaining of the Charlie Farley class of 2014, I thought he's be on his forever sofa by now, soon handsome boy, soon!

Liam is such a lovely boy I am really surprised he is still at the kennels, I do wish that he does find a home soon and can enjoy his retirement. He seems a happy boy and is just after a nice comfy bed / sofa to chill out on. If we had not already got our 3 he would have been lazing about our house a long time ago !!

During the party today I spotted Liam lying on the floor looking out through the bars at everyone passing with such soulful eyes. Lovely Liam!

Due to the monsoon conditions, we couldn't get out on a walk this afternoon, so the dogs spent some time out in the runs having a play. Well - my gorgeous boy was in his element, he had company, toys to play with and lots of fusses and cuddles - and that was on top of the lovely groom Uncle Norman gave him this morning! Sometimes I don't think this boy shows himself at his best in the kennels - he has been here so long now he really needs a home to call his own. I'm hoping that as this weekend is a special one for the kennels, it will be the same for my special big fella.xxxx

muddypaws, your post brought a tear to my eye. I LOVE this boy and just can't understand why he has been overlooked for so long. When we had him overnight and took him out for the day he was just brilliant - and showed that he will be a fabulous addition to the right home. Yes, he is lively, bouncy, fun loving, his waggy tail sent things flying in our small country cottage!! but he has so much love to give and just wants to be out of his kennel and in his own home. I keep checking back , like every 20 mins it seems , I can't wait for this loveable hunk to get a home , I just still have that image in my head of when he came over to me in the Kitchen and licked my face , Gorgeous boy , Maybe one day when I get a bit more confidence in owning and caring for a greyhound , Ill be able to take a loveable lad like Liam , Skye Terriers are known as the Heavenly breed and having owned 2 I can vouch for that , but there is contest as I think Greyhounds deserve that title too

Liam was brilliant with my boys in the kitchen today! He n my border collie were even playing at one point although I had to stop them as liam kept jumping on the other dogs accidentally! Not much room to play with 5 greys n 2 'pretend' greys! I hope he finds a home soon. He really is lovely! X

We so hope liam is rehomed soon. He was the one we originally came to see. Charlie was another favourite boy and now he's got a new mom! Rolo the jack russell eventually made the choice for us. Funny how things change on the day. There's a lovely hound for everyone. Rolo and misty went to the last sutton park walk. If anyone spots us next time, please say hello. Cant miss our "little and large" pair! love mistys mom x

If you are considering homing a greyhound then please dont let them being in kennels longer than most put you off. We homed Jack in december after a longer than average spell in kennels and he is amazing. I really dont know why he was overlooked, just as Liam is. Liam is a lovely boy who deserves a loving home all of his own and who I am sure will give you so much love and affection in return. Please please consider this gorgeous boy, he has so much to offer

Sarahphe thanks so much for taking Liam out today. He does love to be out & about and in company, and as you say, although interested in other breeds, is not aggressive just curious and wanting to investigate and would socialise well. Well done too to the big boy himself for behaving nicely and enjoying a lovely day out. Surely his very own sofa (or should I say floor, as he didn't show any inclination to get up on the furniture when he stopped with us) can't be far away now. Big cuddles sweetheart. Angie xx

Liam joined us for a walk round cannock chase today along with lots of other greys too. He travelled very well in the car and He was perfect with the other greys and happily said hello to everyone. He saw a few other breeds which he was interested in but I honestly think he would be fine after regular introductions as he showed no aggression. Liam loved the fuss and especially the sausages at the end of the walk which he took so gently even though there was lots of other noses trying to pinch his treats. I really dont understand why this boy hasn't found a home. It broke my heart to bring him back as he didnt want to get out the car but it really isnt the right time for us yet. Michael & I took long stayer Liam out for the day today to give him a break from kennel routine and see how he was in the "outside world". To make things easier for us we collected him yesterday afternoon and he was a well behaved houseguest overnight - being clean, dry and sleeping through until almost 7.00am. I must say he is a big, strong boy and he seemed to fill our country cottage!! Liam embraces life and his constantly wagging tail kept crashing into things, but he is so friendly and affectionate, dispensing kisses and greeting everyone he met expecting a fuss! He is inquisitive with a capital I - investigating absolutely everything, and is food orientated which makes trying to eat your sandwich somewhat of an adventure! However, when corrected he responds very well, and considering how new, scary and exciting everything was for him in the 24 hours he was with us, he was starting to calm down already, this bodes well for his forever home. He quickly learned to climb the stairs, was interested but good with the other breeds and the ducks in Abbey Fields this morning, got a little excitable around smaller breeds, wasn't too sure what to make of young, noisy children and is quite strong on the lead to start with. Life is just sooo exciting for this handsome boy, and he meets it head on!
Although we had him such a short time, it has given a little insight into his personality and we can now provide more information to potential adopters to help make sure he finds just the right home for him.

Popped into the kennels today and had a quick fuss of Liam, such a happy boy! Even my husband commented on the way home how lovely he is!

Had a sneaky few minutes in with Liam yesterday afternoon, he really is a most delightful, friendly and playful boy. He got so excited to have some company and had lovely cuddles, then he decided we should play with his rope toy for a while. Bless him, he is such a handsome and affectionate boy - surely his very own sofa can't be too far away now. Cuddles sweetheart. xx

Liam spent Bank Holiday Monday visiting Melbicks for his first roadshow.
He is a lively active lad who obviously believes that lying down is not as important as 'meeting and greeting' the hundreds of shoppers who were at Melbicks yesterday. He just loved all the attention he received from adults and children of all ages.
He also met a selection of on greyhounds showing curiousity but no aggression.
Liam is a very loving boy travels well in the car and is excellent with people of all ages and hopefully that forever home will arrive for him soon.

Saw Liam today. So well behaved when I saw him at Melbicks with Torres and lovely Smartie. Lovely boy xxxx.

Liam is soooo friendly,he loves everyone! He can be a bit exicitable on 1st meeting,however once he has met all the family and said hello,he settles down. He was a bit jumpy with our 8 year son,he may be better with slighty older children. Whoever gets this chap will be rewarded with a loving and friendly Grey.

Liam came with Isla on the Stratford walk today and what a gorgeous boy he is. They travelled well in the car together. He seemed happy to be out and about and was very well behaved, walking beautifully next to the other dogs. As Deb mentioned, he entertained us all by 'sitting' on the grass and was intrigued by a paper bag, blowing in the breeze. He was much enamoured by a female Great Dane puppy, who seemed quite relaxed by the attention. I love this boy - and I love the little white patch under his tail that I hadn't noticed until he jumped out of the car. Unique! Thank you Liam, for being with us today. xxxxxxx

Liam came on the walk today his pictures on the website don't do him justice he is one handsome boy and lots of comments were made about his wonderful eyes.He amused us all with his interest in a plastic bag blowing across the race course and he is one special grey as he demonstrated to us all how he could sit.He is smashing little boy.

I had the pleasure of walking gorgeous Liam a couple of times today. What a lovely boy! Unsure to begin with and then walking beautifully by my side, within moments. Took lovely liam to the park yesterday and he did really well considering everything is so new to him, he was taking everything in! He is a real sweetie and kept trying to give me a kiss when I put him in and out of the car! Such a lovely lad, he loved his trip out in the car and was watching everything out of the window, he seems very bright! You wont be long lovely Liam with out a sofa Im sure. xxx
