Brae

female, 12 years old, Black

Added by DaybreaksRuth

Updated: Monday 01 Jan

Brae was owned by Mr Shannon who owns the kennels and so we have known Brae for several years. We have been waiting desperately for her safe retirement and now she is at Daybreaks. She had an injury to her foot whilst racing so was looked after for a while by Daybreaks volunteers.

Brae has had 0 cuddles today (15 all together).
If you register or login, you can give her a cuddle too!

It is true about the eyes.... when she sat down in the car next to me on the way to and from the park, she did seem to have a very soulful face and she did like being fussed too. She was also a very quiet passenger

Brae came home with me again after the walk yesterday. She is an absolutely adorable girl who is very happy when she sees you, but settles quickly and is quiet and gentle. She has the most amazing big brown eyes that melt you - please someone, adopt this beautiful girl.....

We turned up to kennels today to find out that everyone was going on the walk at Brueton Park and were asked to take Brae. She was very patient while we sorted the car out so we could take her over from Daybreaks and also obediently went for a wee before we got her in the car. She was a little bit stressed to begin with as we, and our car, were new to her but she did settle pretty quickly. When we got to the park, she was very keen to try to get to the front of the group, and fairly strong on the lead in that regard, but she was good with all the other dogs - greys and non-greys - and didn't pay any particular attention to the ducks on the water. Part way round the park, she eased off with the pulling and then was much calmer for the rest of the walk. When we'd done, she allowed us to wipe her feet off without any bother and then jumped up in the back of the car with me. She seemed a lovely girl and I hope she gets a home soon x J

I took Brae in to meet the cats today but sadly she was very interested! I thought she would do well as she has not reacted to my chickens and ducks but obviously the cats are far more exciting.

Speaking from experience (with no bias at all!), no home is complete without a Brae! As our little Brae's half sister, if you have just half of her fun loving, mischievousness, cuddle monster giving, treat chomping personality, then you gorgeous Brae will make the most wonderful addition to any family. Sending you our biggest cuddle tonight beautiful girl, xxxx

Brae has been unreserved as the family feel it isn't the right thing to do at the moment.

She really is the most perfect Greyhound (of course in my eyes!) She is shy until she knows you and then will let herself go and have a gentle play. She is house trained (I looked after her a year ago when she hurt her foot as a racer) and she is great with other breeds (during her rehab after her injury she was fostered by another volunteer who has deerhounds and she is great with other breeds in a park environment). She is quiet and will take herself away but also loves to be cuddled. If only I had room........

Oh, how wonderful that you too have been reserved beautiful Brae. What with Billy's sign turning red yesterday, I didn't want you to be alone at Daybreaks. Look forward to seeing your 1st family photo. xxxx

Lovely photo of Billy and Brae....they are kennel mates and get on so well together. It was great to see them chasing each other around the sand run and playing tug of war with a toy. :)) Xxx
