i saw the photos you sent to the kennels when i was there on saturday, thanks so much for sending them, Glenny as i called him looks so settled with you which makes me happy as i had really fallen for him and the only reason i did not have him was that my other half did not want us to have a fourth dog at the moment. sounds like he has a wonderful home with you and that's all that matters. please give him a big hug from me and the boys Monty, Rossi and Toby xxxx

Glen has a new name - Alfie or Alfred the Great - Glen was a little confusing for Penny our lurcher who is usually known as Pen! Well, Alfie has settled down really quickly, which we think is probably due not only to his character, but to the kind and loving care he received at Daybreaks. He was clean and dry on his 1st night, has been in the car with our other 3 for a trip to the woods and met our 2 granddaughters aged 15 months and 4 years. We think he might soon be a cheeky boy too! I'll keep the photos coming for all his friends. Oh, he had his first roach this evening. Richard & Margaret xxx

Following the heartbreaking phone call from Hannah to unreserve Glen, he was straight away reserved again.... He is going to his new home Friday :-)

Well unfortunately my husband decided that he was unsure at the moment about house training a dog when we have our baby still crawling around. So as there were doubts for now, and many tears later I called to say we would have to leave Glenny for someone else to love him. Better to decide now than a few months down the line I guess. But we will be back when the time is ready...for now, I am off to cry into my tea! :0( So Sorry guys, you do such a fab job and we will offer a grey a loving home when the time is right. xxx

Hannah, just like Emma says, the tags can be ordered from the kennels, if you want to wait and then you can fill the form in there and then, takes about 2 days to come in the post to you and they do all sorts of lovely shapes and colours so you can match it to his house collar. he'll wear that all the time and you only need one disc, he'll be micro chipped as well. i got Rossi Toby's name and address and tel nbs on my tags. i wish i had known about your lil one's cake as i do them to order and do all sorts of things including cakes with hounds etc. see you on the 4th. ps he'll be a spoiled lad, my rossi loves soft toys so watch out for Evie's teddies!!! toby is not bothered about them at all. x

Oh wow - I think Glen is going to be a spoilt boy, lucky thing! Some good info on the legal aspect of tags can be found on http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/379. Mine just have one tag which is on their house collar and it includes their name on one side, and then on the other side is my name, 1st line of address, postcode and tel no.
You can order the tags from the kennels - I think they are the same price or cheaper than elsewhere, and of course the profit goes to the RGT.

Can anyone please tell me what to include on ID tags? So I can get them ordered, I heard some people do not include the dogs name and things like that? I am guessing Glenny will have one for his house collar and one for walking collar? Any advice would be much appreciated xx

Hello Ina, Yes thats right, we will probably arrive around 11am as it is the best time before Evie's lunch....I can bring some cakes or something too...anything in particular required??? We then have to go and collect a big cake for Evie's 1st birthday the following day!! (Anyone else reading this, Evie is our daughter and not another doggy!). I just want to cuddle him! Bought him a toy today, & will get some more for him, then I can teach him what they are, poor thing :0( look forward to seeing you again xxx

Hi Ina, Thank you, that would be really good, I will do that as it would be helpful. I am hoping to do a few of the walks and things I see that are organised, it would be nice to socialise with other greys and grey owners! We will be collecting Glen on Saturday the 4th as we can't get him any sooner due to family events and being away for a couple of nights. I really can't wait!! I would love a couple more photos of him too...maybe I can sort this? I am on facebook if anyone there could take a couple for me? Well all going well with our home visit tomorrow he will be coming home with me...yey I am so excited and I fell for him when I met him yesterday...I can't stop thinking about him....his beautiful face and character...he was so gentle with my daughter Evie who is nearly one...he is exactly the Grey we wanted!!!!!! So Kallie rest assured he will be loved, and we will come and see you too....xxx

Glen is just so lovely, i really have taken to him, he spend some of the afternoon sharing the run with Rossi and Toby and he looked so at home with them. he then had a little play with me in the yard and went to lie on a makeshift bed in the store watching the world go by, so cute. xxx

Glen is absolutely gorgeous, i have so fallen for him, he's got the sweetest face , a bit like my Toby and he's got a short tail like my Rossi, i really wish i could have another one but with three already and me at work all day it's just not possible. i am sure he'll find someone soon as he's a little star. xxx
