I am heartbroken to say that yesterday morning my beautiful Gummers made his way across the rainbow bridge. He was an amazing boy who loved everyone and lived up to his racing name, he always had a waggy tail, even at the end. We miss him terribly, his legs gave up so suddenly and combined with his nasal tumor it was the kindest last act of love I could give to him.

Waiting for him would have been Sarah Scare Bear, Willow Pillow, Stevie and the rest of the gang. You are now young again, you can run fast and free and be free of pain.

God has gained another incredible angel. Gummers, you may be no longer by my side but you will be forever in my heart. Until we meet again precious boy. XXXXX

Dinner update.......well, no fish fingers or sausage. Mom mad a huge pan of pasta with butter, cheese and vegetables, we love this dinner, it was mixed with our dry food. I love it so much I even got into Asbo Arrys bowl, I think he went into shock that I had the cheek to do so, he just looked at me! Sadly mom said NO and I went back to my own bowl. I then had to sample one of my all time favourite foods, I used to steal this when I first moved in....pizza! It was for the hoomans but I still got some. There is pasta left for tomorrow so I am very happy. Xx

Happy 10th birthday to my Looney toon Max (or Gummers since having all of his teeth out last year). Mad, fruit loop of a dog who definitely does not act his age! So far today we have had mad spinning zoomies on the living room rug followed by how many teddies and toys can I throw around the room? Currently relaxing under the stairs for a few minutes. For all you hounds out there, tonight's dinner will be sausage casserole with mashed potatoes.

4 years ago today I fostered Max after he was sadly returned. It was a foster up until 8th January, well as you all know that didn't happen. So pleased to say he was my first failed foster. He is an utter fruit loop and even though he no longer has any teeth, loves his toys and food, not sure in which order! We all love you loads and you make us laugh every day, especially when your tongue escapes. Xxx

Busy day yesterday so missed saying Happy Birthday. I didn't know about the fish and chips rule for birthdays etc so Skip and Bert missed it for their birthdays. It's Skip's 1st gotcha day next month so we'll get fish and chips then - with peas of course. Glad you had a lovely day. x

3 years ago today Max was sadly returned to kennels. I fostered him 2 days later, and well...the rest as they say is history! Ftp as I named him officially on 9 Jan. Xx

Well, shock, no fish and chips from the chippy shop (:, no fish cakes(:: but we did get something called fish fingers (didn't know fish had fingers) but we had that with mash, we all got 5 fish fingers each with our kibble....result, we demolished it in a couple of minutes. Think this our new favourite. pass the message on. Xx

Thanks Shani, he knows it too. He is a bit fed up as normally on gotcha days and birthdays they all get fish and chips from the chip shop, but as it is Willow pillows gotcha day on the 11th Jan, they will have to compromise and celebrate with Sarah scare bear and Flloydle boydle for tomorrow. Last year I had my beautiful Stevies gotcha day on the 8th January, sadly we lost him in April, so we had 3 gotcha days in the same week (chip shop was sooooo happy, lol).xxxx

Max went for his booster today. Made friends with a lovely lady who's son had a greyhound and lost it before Christmas but had just adopted a lab puppy who was having its vaccination. He then met a husky and seemed to really like him too. Seems to like to make friends with everyone, tail never stopped wagging, that is until he was called for his injection! Big woos ! Still Max love you loads.xxxxx

Hi Everyone, Maxi here. Today is huparently my burfday. Dont's really understandz what that iz, but my Mom sed it meanz I iz getting older by another year..brudy cheek! Right, first things first. if you want to know the Daybreaks definition of the word 'FOSTER' translated it actually means you will become a complete and utter failure. I know this as a year ago today I saw post from Ruth saying that Max was struggling in kennels after unfortunately being returned. I contacted her and said as my family were away I could foster him for just over a week, and like that ever happened. He officially became mine on 9th Jan. He is such a different dog, he does the stairs, he has found the bed and after I kept telling people he won't go on the sofa he found that last week! He is toy mad, and races around like the Tasmanian devil sending the rugs skidding across the room. He is such a joy and so loving. So glad I managed to be such a failure. Love you Maxi boy. xxxxx

Today is my gorgeous Max's 6th birthday. He has really come out of his shell, loves to play and give kisses. He certainly lives up to his racing name of Wagga Max, his tail never stops wagging. Such a happy loving boy. Love you Maxi. Special treats later. xxxxxxxx

A Max update. Well Max has been with us officially since 9th January. When he first came home just after Christmas on foster he was still a little unsure and did whine at night when left downstairs, which resulted in me spending a few nights on the sofa to reassure him everything was ok. After a few nights we managed to get him to 'do the stairs', initially he would only do this at bedtime. In the past 2 weeks he has become a stairs Pro and started to go up during the day, but only to follow someone up there. He is such a loving and affectionate gentle boy giving masses of kisses and his tail never stops wagging, he loves his food and has now discovered the toy box. This now usually results in me picking up all the toys that have been taken out of said box by him and putting them back, quickly followed by the game of lets get them all out again! There is an awful lot of squeaking and toy ragging going on, he loves it. He took a Sid the snake out the other day, walked passed Willow who promptly proceeded to grab the tail end, resulting in a great game of tug of war. This only stopped when Sarah (who was lying in the middle of the floor underneath where they were playing) lifted her head and gave a most disapproving look at being disturbed, to which Willow dropped her end and Max quickly went off the victor. They all get on so well and it is as if he has been with us forever. He is so very, very well behaved and has enjoyed the walks at Solihull and Kingsbury with all the other Greys. I am just so happy he has been able to come into our lives, he is an absolute joy. Love you Maxi boy. xxxxxxxxx

Welcome to the ever expanding FFP club!!!

Well it is official. I am totally, completely, and utterly useless at this fostering business. Who am I kidding, I said foster to the family and they were stupid enough to believe me. I am so lucky to have yet another gorgeous grey in my life. Max is totally fab, now he has mastered the stairs I don't hear a sound from him at night. Will bore you all with updates from time to time. Thanks again to Daybreaks for giving me the chance to take this lovely boy on. X

Max update. He is eating really well. Yesterday it was cereal for breakfast, then at lunchtime it was mini fish and chips, and for supper it was sausage casserole with pasta and dried food. Again clean bowl and even went and checked the other bowls to see if there were any leftover bits. Sadly not. We have however had a couple of unsettled nights. Have made him his own little den so will see how he is tonight. He is so gorgeous and gives loads of kisses, but I have to try and ignore him if I go out or go upstairs as I don't want to encourage any attention which he might associate with separation even if it is only for a few minutes. If I think I need to I will obviously contact Ruth or the kennels for further advice. He is still not doing the stairs, if he was it might help as he would be with me even though the other dogs have the run of the house. But as I say he is gorgeous. X

Well last night I slept in my bed. Max whined a couple of times but I ignored him and he soon settled down. The others who are usually in the bedroom had the run of the house. I got up at 4.50 and they all went out. Settled until 7.30. Breakfast of cereal again and tonight it was dried food with chicken and pasta. Not any left. He is such a good boy so far. Still no stairs or sofa. Not used to this. He is gorgeous and gives lovely kisses. Xxxxxx

Max update. Will not do stairs, does not do sofa (so far). Tried to take him up to bed last night. No chance, not even with a lead. So went to bed left him on his bed downstairs. He whined a couple of times so down I came with pillow and quilt. Not a sound from him then all night. This morning he and the gang had cornflakes with warm milk and water. That soon disappeared. Went to work and my son came and checked on him a couple of times and he was fine. Just finished the same dinner as last night but with extra dried food in. Left a very small amount. So am very pleased with him. Will keep the updates coming. Oh and clean in the house so far. X

So pleased to say Max came home and I put his bed down by the Christmas tree. After having a big wee in both the front and back garden he just plonked himself down on his bed. He has just demolished a huge bowl of dinner, Skinners with pasta and minced beef. Nothing left at all. Also had treats and biscuits. Now just the night to see what he is like as he has not even attempted the stairs yet, let's see how it goes.

What a very gorgeous boy Max is. We had a very wet and windy walk this morning and although he was a bit jumpy on the lead to start with (mind you, they all were - think the wind was freaking them out!) he soon settled and walked well. He was reluctant to go back into his kennel and refused his breakfast so is obviously feeling a little down at the moment. He loves cuddles and is very nice natured. I see he has now been fostered which is great. Hope he gets on well. xx

Sadly Max has been returned today due to the family's extended working hours. He has been in a home since May 2014. They are very upset as Max was great with their daughter and they clearly loved him a lot. He has been stressing with being left for longer and we hope he will find a home very soon.

i was so glad that we chose Max to go back to Pets at Home today for a roadshow. He really is a happy chap and i hope all those passers by come into the kennels and one of them snaps you up. x

Paul & I took Max to Pets At Home at Sheldon this morning with Isla. He is a really lovely, friendly lad and was so very well behaved. There were a few dogs in the shop this morning and while he was interested to look at them, he was a real gent. He met an 8-month old whippet puppy at very close quarters and after saying a quick hello, he just stood quietly. He has a lovely waggy tail and loves fuss too. Wagga Max is a very appropriate name for this boy! He travelled quietly in the car on the way there and back too. We think he is going to make a stunning pet for some lucky person. xx

Max has today been at Pets at Home Sheldon supporting their Charity Event.
He is a very friendly lad who enjoys meeting people of all age groups.
He is an active lad who takes great interest in all that goes on around him and he is sure to prove a wonderful companion to whoever eventually is able to give him his forever home.

Max accompanied his kennel mate, Judy, to the Stratford walk today and what a lovely boy he is. He and Judy travelled well together in the car, both being calm and quiet. Max was happy to be out and about; enjoying his new surroundings. He was very well behaved and friendly with other greys. This handsome boy has a gentle, sweet nature and will no doubt make a lovely companion. Fingers crossed Max for your forever sofa soon. xxx
