Very sweet though as Mia has all of a sudden decided that every night before bed she has to kiss and cuddle my necklace with your paw on it and sat 'night jet, miss and love you!' Now, I am under no illusion that this is to stall bedtime for 5 mins whilst she goes through this routine and asks the same questions 'if I talk to jet in heaven does he hear me?' And 'if I cuddle his paw will he feel me?'...but it works as she gets an extra 5 mins of awake time lol! But I know that even though she was so young when you passed away, she does still remember you and I think genuinely misses you! All my love, mommy xxxxxxx

Currently in Cornwall which was one of your favourite holiday places bombing round the beaches! Miss you been with us so much, it's not the same, but everywhere we go we have a memory of you and it's a case of 'remember when Jet...', 'Jet loved it here...' you're always in our thoughts and constantly in our hearts. Well my boy, I beamed with pride this morning when I turned my calendar over! I've been hurrying the months away to get to May! What I'd give to have you on my bed again even just for one more night. Remember when you were 1st poorly and had just come out of hospital, you wanted to sleep with mommy but that meant there was no room for Daddy (even in a king size bed you used to take up 3/4s!) so we put daddy some pillows and a blanket on the floor and there he slept, not daring to ask me if I'd move you as he knew what the answer would be! Tbf, I know he'd sleep on the floor every night if it meant we could have you back! Love and miss you every second of every minute of every day xxx

Well it would have been our 9th gotcha day today my darling boy, you were the best birthday present ever!
We had to go and meet mia's new pre school teachers today and we were talking about her and I said about all the animals and how good she is with them and how we've taught her all about the angels and what happens etc and her teacher said 'oh yes, jet, she's told me all about him!' Now we've never met this teacher so I haven't said a word or prompted her so she must be going and telling people about you off her own back. Made me fill up but also beam with pride as I promised you you'd never be forgotten and your memory would live on forever. Love u so much xxx

Happy heavenly birthday my darling, darling boy. I prayed so hard that you'd get to see this day and have your birthday cake and presents as you always did. I hope you're happy and running fast and free over rainbow bridge but know that I did everything in my power to save you and would have continued to do so if you could have carried on. As the saying goes, 'if love alone could have saved you, you'd have lived forever'. I miss you every day and there's such a void in my life now you've left, but mia and I talk about you all the time to keep your memory alive as worried mia won't remember you, but even at her young age she still says 'I love jet' so hoping she'll never forget. Its ironic that your passing was because your heart was too big and that was you all over, the biggest, sweetest, kind, most gentle heart I have ever known.
We welcomed baby isla safely into the world in April and I know you sent her to help us through and when she's big enough we'll tell her all about her big brother who would have adored her. Looked at our photos of this time last year and we were on the beach in Weymouth for your birthday and even though you were really quite poorly then, you still ran round that beach with a spring in your step like the happy boy you were, living your life to the full.
I hope you've had a lovely day and grandad has taken you to the pub for your scratchings!

So you've had abit of a strange year with the arrival of your human baby sister, but in true jet style you've took it all in your stride and took it upon yourself to embrace, love and care for mia and hardly ever leave her side (although now its because you've realised she has food and tit bits you all the time which she thinks is hilarious so does it more!). Once again you've been by my side through everything, you've got up in the night with me while daddy snores away, totally oblivious, picked me up if i felt abit low but equally been there making all the wonderful memories we have. That was like us, my husband wanted a Labrador but i will only have rescue animals but the amount of red tape made it impossible and the greyhound breed was my choice and thank goodness now we have jet who couldn't be more perfect! Yes mom said it was lovely chatting to you and always comes back with pictures of the dogs to show me! Wish we could take dogs to work!xxx

Hi Lucy, yes we had a great time talking about Greyhounds at Hair'em Scair'em!! It was because of my Hairdresser, Nikki that I had a Greyhound. I was desperate to have a dog but because I worked, most rescue centres said no :( Nikki said had heard the Greyhound Trust would consider homing a dog to people who worked....a few months later I had my beautiful Twiggy! It was lovely to meet your Mom, our Hairdressers is really dog friendly, Chris the owner has six rescue dogs, there is always one or two of them there to cuddle while you wait to have your hair cut!! :))) Xxx

Oh yes, my mom said she saw you and was chatting hounds in the hairdressers with you the other day kate lol! She loves talking about jet as much as me! Xxx

Just reading back on jets profile from before we had him and still makes me cry every time I read it lol! People probably don't look at his profile now from so long ago, but in case anyone was a jet fan, we can assure you that he's spoilt absolutely rotten and totally adored! Personality hasn't changed one bit, still a laid back, happy bouncy boy who thoroughly enjoys life! He's so patient and has to put up with his overly obsessive mom and all the waifs and strays I take in and loves them all! He is a fabulous advert for the breed and gets so many compliments wherever he goes! Thank you so much to all at day breaks for letting us have him, he's truly wonderful and couldn't imagine our life without him! You're all little angels! Jet sends his love! Xxx

Hi all! Well today has been lovely at the show! I got 3 3rds and 1 2nd so my mom was thrilled! She cant show my horse brother anymore so looks like its going to have to be me instead! Hi jet here! Sorry it's took me so long to comment, my mom isn't that good with technology! Anyway just to give you all a quick update...I'm having a fab time! I have a horse brother called Jim and 2 cat brothers called sunny and Otis. I go for lots of walks at the stables and run till my hearts content! Got lots of friends but my best friend is jack the collie cross, he can run faster than me! Then there's the social Club we go to and I have 6 friends there we meet up a few times a week and while mom and dad are having a drink we all share scratchings and then go for a run round the orchard! Mom's had to buy a new car as I decided I didn't like the hatchback so she had to buy an estate! Anyway that's just a quick update, got to go and get my zzzzz's now as I'm off to the forestry show tomorrow! Hopefully I'm coming to the dog show on the 12th so I'll perhaps see some of you then! Lots of love jet xxx

Jet came to the dogs trust event at Hatton Country world.This is a massive event with hundreds of dogs of all shapes and sizes and all behaviours. Jet was absolutely magnificent and I really mean absolutely magnificent. He was impeccably behaved not one hint of a reaction to the other breeds many of whom were yapping away and some having a pop at each other.He waited patiently whilst we had cake and coffee at the cafe and enjoyed a few treats especially a piece of my sister in laws cheese scone.He is a very affectionate boy and loved all the cuddles he got today,he was very happy in the company of children many of whom had greyhounds themselves .He clearly loves the company of other greys -every-time we met one his tail wagged away.This boy is one of those big black boys that are often over looked but if you are looking for an affectionate, happy big boy who is laid back,chilled,non reactive and great on the lead then this is the boy for you he is truly wonderful.Jet it was pleasure to take you out today ,you deserve to be in a home of your own.

I honestly cannot believe this lad hasn't gone yet! Not only is he SUPER cat friendly but also really good with other greyhounds as well! This lad is so loving and gentle, he has so much character in him too! xxxxx

Well Jet, Ripple and family are going away for two weeks on very soon, if you have not found a sofa when we get back, we might come and see you and your cuddly friends, as we may be able to offer a foster sofa, as Ripple has lost her confidence out of the house. xxxx

Beautiful Jet accompanied his pretty little kennel mate Annie to Pets at Home in Stratford today and was brilliant. With tail wagging he jumped straight into the car and travelled well with Annie. Throughout the day his behaviour was perfect. A happy, relaxed boy who took everything in his stride, was polite with his adoring public and calm with other breeds and small dogs. He posed 'regally' for a photo with Steve, Sue and Scott when they collected a cheque at Pets at Home (see 'Thank You Pets at Home'). I think you will agree that he is a very handsome greyhound; and with his beautiful nature I'm sure he won't be waiting long for his forever home. Thank you Jet - you were a joy to be with. xxxx
