Tony continues to love his walks, he is like a machine, just keeps going and going and he just loves being out and about. Ripple does her best to keep up and they have walked more than twenty miles this week, in total. Early walk this morning as it was already 20 degrees at 09.00. Wish we could still pop in and see you all, they miss their pamper sessions.

To be honest Kate they have been the best of friends since they met. Tony loves her to bits.
It's good to hear that Ripples half sister Tinker is doing OK.
Ripple had us up in the night, well the people resurfacing the road had already kept us awake, we had to go downstairs to stop her from wrecking the house throwing Tony's Crocodile around and playing. Got plenty of energy when she wants it!!:)

Well Tony has been with us for two years now and he is still a bundle of trouble. He loves his walks and still has loads of energy, trouble is Ripple hasn't, some times she goes back to the car/house and Tony continues for a longer walk. Tony and Ripple are inseparable, they have to go everywhere together and there is never a cross growl.
We all miss Daybreaks and the walks, but Tony and Ripple have made a few Greyhound friends down here and Tony likes large groups of Greyhounds.

Wow...the time has flown by! Can't believe you have had your lovely Toney a year already. It's great to hear he and Ripple get on so well together. Sending them both my cuddle tonight. Xxx

Well it's over a year now since Toney came into our lives. He is an adorable, but mischievous lad. He and Ripple have formed such bond and they are inseparable. He is full of energy and loves to play and we can't imagine life without him.

Do hope Toney's toe makes a complete recovery. Xxx

Hi All, my toe seems to be OK'ish. I am not limping anymore, but it is still sore if I knock it. Mum and Dad are still not sure if I will end up having it removed, but they don't want to unless I am in pain with it. Been on two nice walks today with Ripple. Ripple is doing better with the warmer weather, but Mum is slow as she has had very nasty cold and still struggles for her breath (Dad reckons she needs part exchanging for newer model heheheh).

great news last night the vet said my toe is still swollen but its straight and should get better on its own. We have just come back from a small walk, so nice to get out of the house again and stare at the local cats. xx

Hi All, as far as my Mum & Dad can make out (looking at my litter mates B'day's on Greyhound data) it is my Birthday tomorrow. I have celebrated by hurting one of my front toes playing with Ripple and the vets have banned me from walking until my next appointment on Tuesday. It's dead boring staying in and even Ripple is bored.
I am still being good and I love to please my Dad and I always do what he says (when he say's it really loud anyway). I hope all of my friends and volunteer's at daybreaks and those lucky ones who have found their forever sofa's are all OK.

Hi all, I have been a little poorly this week, I snapped a rear claw off last Thursday and my Mum bandaged it up to stop the bleeding. I wouldn't stop licking it and it got infected, I had to go to the vets for an injection and tablets and they bandaged it up to keep it clean. I have been hopping around until this evening when the lovely nurse at the vets removed the bandage. It looks good at the moment but I keep licking it and my dad has told me off several times, he reckons I will make it bad again.
I have been weighed (worm treatment) and I now weigh 31.6kgs and according to Dad I don't look like a bag of bones anymore. Hope all my mates from the kennels are all well.

PS I am getting on better than ever with Ripple, apart from when she steals my Crocodile and hides it in her crate.

just to say hi to everyone and let you know how I am doing. Well I have found my feet here and I like to play with Ripple in the garden, my favourite game is after a big walk I grab her toy and then she chases me and we do lots of laps up and down the garden . The postman delivered a squeaky crocodile today its lovely and I think it likes me as its only left me whilst I ate my tea and now its in my bed but mum says its for both of us. We had a lovely surprise on our walk today, we met Becky with her greyhound Bramble (who was also rehomed from Daybreaks) she was wearing her new collar and it was very nice. Well I still look a bit thin but I am eating all my food now. I have heard that we might be going on one of the walks at the end of September so I hope to see you all then. xxx

Tony is continuing to be a very good boy. He goes to his bed at human meal times, generally stays out of the kitchen, gives kisses on request (as long as there is a treat afterwards) and generally does as he is told.
He has now decided that he loves cats and could eat at least three, at one sitting. He does not mind other breeds of dog, unless they are aggressive towards him or get too close.
He loves to play with his dad and attacks him every night when he gets home, but when his mum appears (behind dad) he stops playing and lies down, leaving his dad wondering what's going on (I wonder who is the top dog in this house?). He is now eating well and we think he might have put a few grams on (work in progress). All in all he is a really lovely boy, gets on brill with Ripple and after two weeks of fostering it was obvious there was no way we could be successful foster parents, but what a wonderful way to fail.

It was lovely to see Tony taking everything in whilst walking around Shipley Country Park this morning, he did have to wait a couple of times for Ripple to catch up as in her head retirement means retirement and walking at her own pace (snails even over take her). Tony is now helping his dad in the garden getting his fishing things ready so he can go fishing, but by all the Tony's I keep hearing I hope there is some bait left.

Yes it's official we have failed as first time foster parents and have this morning been over to the kennels and adopted Toney. He was the quietest I have ever seen him whilst at the kennels and he looked so low. He is back home now in his forever bed. Thanks to all at the kennels you do an amazing job. Well it is difficult not too. He has been super, no accidents at all in the house (touch wood), he learns very quickly, gets on amazingly with Ripple (always touching noses) and he is so boisterous and yet gentle when playing.
How could we not keep him?

Just an update on toney, he is still being a good lad for us ie sleeping at night and going to the loo outside. Getting on very well with ripple, no arguing and looking at the pair of them now they are asleep in their beds in the same position facing the same way like twins. He saw some ducks down the canal the other day and decided it was a good game to walk up and bounce at them to see how many he could make jump back into the water. He does seem to prefer big dogs better than small ones when we are out on our walks, he tends to growl at the small ones especially whilst we are talking to their owners but soon stops when told no. He does like to look at those naughty things called CATS but after a couple of no's and come on toney he gets on with the walk, it might be a different matter if and when we see one run so with keep you posted.

Today left toney for the first time (in separate crates, side by side)with ripple whilst we did the shopping and he was brilliant, no barks when we opened the door and no mess. He is such a lovely boy.

We have just taken a walk down cat alley (where all the cats seem to be) and he saw one walking, very interested but no barks or growls just the usual greyhound alert stand and with encouragement he carried on the walk. When coming into the close he saw 3 more cats and he looked but again with encouragement he carried on walking to our drive. He loves to play with toys and he brings them to ripple when she is in her bed as if to say its your turn now, he also lets you take them from his mouth with no fuss and waits for you to throw them . When he has eaten most of his tea we tell him he is a good boy which he likes as his tail starts to wag. Mmm I was going to hoover but now I have two fast asleep dogs , one in a bed and one as a rug so its going to be a cup of tea instead.

Tony has had another busy day, this morning he went on a walk at Moira Furnace and saw several dogs and was very well behaved. He was very interested in three Labradors playing, I think he just wanted to join in, and he could not take his eyes of a horse. He has seen another stationary cat and he went into the sight hound stare, but that was all.
He has had two reasonable meals today and is slowly learning to leave humans alone when they are eating, he seems very hungry but not that hungry for his own food!
We went on a small walk this evening as Ripple has had to go back on the pain killers today, and Tony had a sniff nose to nose (through his mussel) at a small dog and then just wanted to carry on the walk. With some patience and training I think he will make an amazing pet, as he his very loving and very happy to be with people.

Toney I am so happy that you are spending some time in a lovely home with a foster sister to show you what to do. I hope you have a lovely time sweetheart, you're a lovely boy. Big cuddles for you and Ripple. xx

Yep, Toney woke up in time and we had a good walk. He saw a stationary cat and preferred a piece of cheese rather than staying interested in the cat.
He was a little strong to begin with, but soon settled down and walked quite nicely.
Ripple is doing her best to show him how to behave (she really is special) as everything is so exciting at the moment.

Hope Toney woke up in time to go for a walk! Glad to hear he ate his dinner ok. It sounds as though Ripple has taken a liking to him, even if he has strange habits such as licking the TV! Xxx

Toni travelled very well in the car with ripple, he has met the hoover (just lay down watching it) and licked the telly, played in the garden with ripple and has eaten a reasonable tea. If he wakes up we are all going for a walk later.

Such a lovely dog, laid back, friendly and a pleasure to walk.X
