I received this sad news in the week. Thank you to Delia and her family for giving him such a wonderful 5 months. - Hi Clare, I just wanted to let you and Ruth know that Ted passed away peacefully in our arms this morning after going blind in the night. Our vet Helen said that he had had a haemorrhage behind the eyes and there was pressure in his brain. 2 weeks ago he went off his back legs due to a bug but we got him back on his feet. We only had him for 5 months but boy they where special for us all. He was a wonderful old boy and everyone he saw fell in love with him us included. We went to the beach on Saturday and he loved it and even made it into the sea infact he found his shadow on Saturday and this morning he found his angel. Thank you for letting us give him a home we wouldn't have changed those short months for anything. He now has our boy Midi to take care of him. x

What a fantastic rehoming photo of Ted and his new family. We were at kennels on Friday when this old fella came in, and he just melted our hearts. We would certainly have adopted him had he not found a home so quickly. We could'nt be more pleased for him....and we wish him all the happiness possible in his twilight years !!! Love you Ted. XXX

OMG - havn't checked out the website since Friday and lots of green signs have appeared incuding the one for Tedward - how marvelous!! Had the pleasure of meeting lovely Tedward before he went off to his new home today. He is a real gentleman and has two new Greyhound friends to share his life with including a very elegant older lady who is eleven....they make a very handsome couple. Wishing him and his new family lots of happy times together. Xxx

I popped into the kennels today to pick some burns up. I had the pleasure of seeing Tedward, his new family and 2 new companions. It was fab to see him and give him a kiss on the nose before he went off on his new adventure. One families sad loss is another ones happy gain. Be happy beautiful. Love to you and your new family. Gosh this is fabulous news Ruth, I was praying he was at home with you, this was so sad, it's made us throughly miserable tonight , how must his owners be feeling, so your post is wonderful, I have given my two cuddles all night, I remember how blade looked when he returned to the kennels after years with his owner , under very very sad circumstances! It's all just so heartbreaking, thank goodness for Daybreaks you do a truly amazing job x

Whooooooah!!!! I have been inundated with offers of a home for this gorgeous boy via telephone, emails and texts! He is currently curled up on a big bed at our house and, all being well, he is off to live in Somerset tomorrow! :-)

Hope you find a good home, bless Tedward, wish I could've had you, but have 2 greys both rescues, and a cat, but house is small xx

Yes, he is cat friendly! Sadly I did offer the family the opportunity for him to be fostered until things were sorted but sadly they felt this was not the best option.

Oh Tedward, you are just adorable and I am keeping everything crossed that you are able to be rehomed or fostered very, very soon as it must be so confusing for you to be in a kennel after all this time having your own sofa. Now concentrate really hard little one as I'm sending you my biggest electronic cuddle today gorgeous. Tx
