Hello friends, I've been in La Provotais for nearly 9 months now and I have learned lots of things. Firstly, we each have a bed for night time zzzzs and we all have our own blankie if it is cold. We all have jim jams and also waterproof coats. There are six beds, two sofas, a chaise and two window seats which I am allowed on during the day, even if my paws are wet (smug smile). My pals are great fun. Belle a Boo Boo has taught me how to dig and Sparky has taught me how to chase the pesky pigeons which land in OUR garden. Pinkleberry has taught me to bark and chase after invisible things. Mum and Dad have friends which drop round for these things called 'drinkies' and I love meeting new friends, I give them all a big slobbery kiss whether they like it or not! I've got new friends coming on Monday, Auntie Rachel Frondigoun and family are coming and I hope they don't eat too much as then there could be chicken left over for my treat but won't be allowed pudding as there is chocolate in it. Mum said she was going to make some more Sardine Oat treats for us tomorrow to bribe us just in case we misbehave; as if!!!! (looks very indignant). Poppy is amazing, she is the most loving girl, so friendly and playful, has put on some weight and is an utter delight. Poppy aka Licky Lucy as she cannot stop is a great addition the our family. As her Dad said today, you picked a good one with her, cannot fault her.

All her new Dad has to say is 'god she is so gorgeous' over and over again, and how adorable she is. She is a proper lovely girl and we love her to bits xx

Solo, now Poppy, is doing brilliantly. She has settled in so quickly and is a very, very loving girl. Cannot get her nose out of anything, so curious. Loves the garden and her new pals. She loves Arthur. When awake, her tail never stops wagging, she is eating well and loves her walks and runs. She is a brilliant dog and her daily Diary is posted on fb on La Provotais Retired Greyhounds to keep everyone up to date with what she is up to and learning. We love her to bits.

Hi patsydior, I've been saying for years how addictive these dogs are. We started with one, then two and now four but the are so rewarding. We have even purchased another car to cope, but what the hell. Anyway hope all is well at your end in France and they have all settled together. Solo has settled in brilliantly with the others, eaten up, well behaved, kisses you at every opportunity, loves the toys in the house to play with and has taken over carrying Joe Joe's cushions. First full day with us all and it is like she has been here forever. Picked another good one and the journey was worth it. Yes I am slightly mad to go to such extremes but they are worth it, so very, very worth it. Greyhounds addictive, whatever gave you that idea? x

So glad you both got home safe & sound. l don't know of anyone who would go to that much trouble to adopt a greyhound !!!

Solo is safe and sound at La Provotais. She was so good on the journey yesterday and brilliant on the ferry and despite concerns about her not being a good traveller, she was absolutely fine. She is very settled and has eaten and had a good drink. Met the other puppies on morning walks and was fine. I think she may be a Daddy's girl though!

It was brilliant to be able to wave Solo off on her way to her amazing new home yesterday. I sent extra kisses and hugs for her to give to Sparky when she arrives, just know she will have an incredible new life. All the best to everyone. xxx

Well Solo, that is your last 'internet' cuddle as I will be cuddling you for proper tomorrow morning and this is your last night in kennels before you get your forever sofa. Got two coats and a blanket for your journey, water and some food and got you a new toy today but once you get to La Provotais I fear Pinkleberry will take charge of new toy unless you are a strong willed girl. Sleep tight Solo, have a good walk in the morning, we have a long way to go. See you then for cuddles xx

Car nearly packed sweetheart, got two coats for you in case it is cold, a water bowl, a food bowl and a lead with your id fob on it. got all the bags with raffle prizes packed. Solo is back at the kennels today. She was understanbly a little quiet after having her neutering operation. She has also had a dental and had to have a few teeth removed. She is sharing a kennel with a nice lad to keep her company. Xxx

Solo is fast asleep in her crate after we pick her up from the vets. So far so good. My two fast asleep as well didnt really pay any attention to our house guest xxx

Took the gorgeous Solo for her walk this morning. She gets so excited when she sees the lead & muzzle heading in her direction bless her, but she walks beautifully when she's out and is a happy girl with a very waggy tail. Her new name really suits her too, and I think she is starting to respond to it already too. xx

I took Soul for her Pet Passport yesterday - she loved the attention and was such a good girl!

Renaming a dog can be a bit of difficult decision sometimes.Soul is an unusual name and does seem to suit her going by her photo.However we think Domino is also a good name for her as she's black and white!

So a bit of a debate has started whether we change your name. I think we wait and see what your personality is before any firm decision is made. Someone suggested Sophie, I favour Domino but I think we wait and see, unless anyone who knows Soul better has any ideas......?
