Knew it would not be long before he did. He does look remarkably like Max. He will however still not go on the sofa. Lol. Xxx

Banjo sounds like he's settled really well and is having a great time (apart from the pond episode - sorry Banjo but I had a little giggle!) ,it's so lovely to see them come out of their shell and develop their characters. You are very near us - we are opposite Farmer Johns so Sutton Park is a favouite of ours too. Xx

Hi all, many thanks for your comments. Had hoped to post an update sooner but it's been one of those weeks! Gosh, what a difference a week makes. Banjo has now mastered the stairs, albeit tentatively at first. He's discovered the luxury of the sofas and I awoke with him next to me on the bed this morning! He's getting on great with the girlie greys and is loving playing kiss-chase in the garden with them, apart from when he ran out in dark the other night and landed in the garden pond by mistake lol. He's no longer wary of us and comes up to us for fuss, he's just gorgeous. Quite a good guard dog surprisingly too, he barks when someone's at the door!
Stevie,Sarah,willow&Max'smum..... I saw your pics and update of the lovely Max, I can't believe how much he and Banjo look alike!
And Helenanddave.....we used to live in Great Barr but live not far from the Parson & Clerk pub now. Barr Beacon isn't a preferred walking area for us, but the steps come in handy for step training lol. They love walkies in Sutton Park and Perry Hall Park is just lovely. Am happy for you to get my contact details from the kennels should you like to get in touch, as you must live nearby!

Thanks all for your support, and Happy Mother's Day - I even got a card from the dogs! Xxx

Hi Giddy ups. I fostered Max just after Christmas. He too would not do the stairs. After a few days we managed to get him up there. He soon realised that this was bedtime. 2 weeks ago he decided that the stairs weren't an issue any more and quite happily goes up and down with no problems. Generally he will only go up if one of us are there. Good luck. I am sure that it won't take long for him to learn. Xxxxx

How nice to read Banjos update. So pleased he seems to be settling well and gradually getting a bit more adventurous. You must live not far from us as we can see Barr Beacon from our house! Hope all continues to go well. xx

Hi all. Finally a chance to post an update, but first of all I'd like to thank JewelintheCrown for phoning earlier to see how the lovely Banjo is settling in. Well, where to start?! Saturday we put him beds in both downstairs rooms as well as the hall so he had a choice. He chose the hall so he could keep his eye on us but keep his distance. By last night he'd migrated into the lounge with us! We tried to get him up the stairs where more beds await, but he backed away. So it 's back to the old teaching them wide concrete steps by the Barr Beacon observatory first methinks, like we taught the first one! Funny how some greys master the stairs just by watching the others, yet others think 'yikes,'. Maybe the bigger dogs struggle more? And let's face it, Banjo's as big as a horse (almost,). Am glad to say he's eating really well, no potty accidents in the house, and is slowly but surely learning to trust us already. Today he actually let me give him some fuss, then brush his coat. He's shown no interest in jumping on the sofas like the girls do, and he's the perfect gentleman. He enjoys running down the garden with them and has been good on walks, tho he got frightened today when a male jogger ran towards him. He's truly gorgeous and I don't think it will be long before he learns the art of play and cheekiness from the girls! Will post again when I can - love and thanks to all xxx

Woohoo! So all went well, they had a great time in the run together. Sam aka Banjo is a gorgeous gentle lad. He's standing with me (Rach) in the pic, whilst hubby is holding Autumn aka Maya & Livvi aka River. We're just settling him in at home and he's not sure what to make of things at the moment. He's taken himself off into a quiet room and I know it'll take time. I will post again with news when poss. Thanks to all at the kennels today for their help, and for going the extra mile as always! Thank you LadyVictoria. Xmas was awful, in fact cancelled after the sad loss of Donut (aka Isis - named after Egyptian Goddess, not terrorists!). She was the sweetest grey I've ever known and has left a huge hole in our hearts. You can still see her pic on Autumn's rehoming pic. Our girlie greys learned much from her and missed her terribly at first, tho time does heal for all. Let's hope this charming man Sam is a welcome distraction. Am sure they'll get along famously, but will do their hair, nails and make-up before the big meet just to be sure lol. Fingers crossed and only 1 more sleep to go (or 2 at the most). Got a shortlist of new names for Sam but I can't tell you yet or I may get in trouble lol. Night Sam. See you tomorrow or Sunday with your new sisters (hopefully!) XXx

Had our eyes on this lovely boy for a while since our lovely Donut passed away on Xmas eve. But had to get a few things to fall into place first! We still have the beautiful Autumn (now called Maya) and the lovely Livvi (now called River). Am hoping all goes well when they meet the gorgeous Sam at the weekend. His personality is much like the first dog we had from Daybreaks. Frank / Rolara Frank in Feb 2009 (RIP my sweetie), and Donut really brought him out of his shell as he was so quiet and timid at first. Our girls will do him the world of good if these mischievous pair get along with him. Fingers crossed and roll on the weekend. Can't wait! Night night son xXx

Sam is lovely, but very, very shy at the moment. He did enjoy his walk and was very well-behaved. He is quite nervous of people but he will soon settle and realise everyone at Daybreaks is his friend! xx
