Hi
Just a quick update from Chappy well he is still no bother but is finding his feet quickly! We had to go back to work this week so it was a worrying time as to how he would be on his own albeit with cassie and one of us is able to call in lunchtime to let them out and spend a little time with them. Chappy found what we call the frog bog in our garden and proceeded to wade through it then parade around the house wagging his tail dripping black bog everywhere it made me smile but took a little cleaning of both floor and his legs to say the least! He has been wearing his new night coat each night but this morning I came down to find it hanging off his bottom as he had duly chewed through the whole front of it and it is now in half I think he is trying to tell us he doesn't want it on so we shall see how he goes. Cassie is settled with him and doesn't bat an eye to his antics all in all he is perfect for us and we shall look forward to more of characteristics coming out and post updates from time to time. See you all soon

Hi all,
Thank you for all the lovely comments regarding Theo and of course Chappy & Cassie. Chappy has had another good night he truly has been no bother to us at all it's like he has always been with us which is great. We left them for half an hour yesterday and recorded them just to see how they were, delighted to say they both just went to sleep! Chappy is getting a little more confident on his walks and getting braver going into the garden on his own. Cassie seems fine and they walked happily next to each other this morning. We shall keep you all posted on Chappy's new adventures and thanks to Kate who called from Daybreaks yesterday to see how we were all getting on, everyone at Daybreaks have been brilliant. Thank you

Hi Chappy. So nice to read how well you are settling in and how well you are getting on with Cassie. I am sure Theo would be very happy to know you have got the chance to be loved as much as he was. Looking forward to more updates. xx

So glad to hear Chappie has settled so well. I agree they never replace those we have lost but if our departed hounds could have one wish it would surely be to give a home and love to another hound in need.

We are updating you with Chappy's progress since collecting him yesterday. He has settled straight away and was delighted to see his new girlfriend cassie (also a rescue from Daybreaks) when we arrived home. He is continually wagging his tail and wanting a cuddle. He was no trouble at all overnight and has found his spot in the living room he is an absolute pleasure so pleased we picked him, well cassie did really????. Chappy will never replace Theo (Clause Trio) who sadly passed away last week we had 10 happy years with him and have no doubt Theo would approve of our new boy. Thanks to Daybreaks and we shall be back soon to give our two greys a run in the paddock and collect some more food. Best wishes Emma, Lee, Cassie & Chappy.

I will miss you Chappy. I took you for one if your first walks when you arrived and you were so nervous we had to lift you off the bed! Over the weeks you have come out of your shell and now are always there waiting for your walk. You are a really lovely boy and I hope you have a super new life. Loads of hugs, gorgeous. Xx

I saw the lovely Choppy off to his new home today. I have taken a homing photo with his lovely new Mum and Dad but for some strange technological reason, I can't get it uploaded! Will get someone on the case, in the meantime be so very happy Chappy. Xxx

Lovely to meet this boy this morning. I don't think he was overkeen on traffic but he was a good boy on his walk. I also had cuddles with him after I'd taken Cally out as I walked past his kennel and he started wagging his tail at me so I popped in for a visit. He's a lovely boy and distant family of my own lad who has the same dad. I hope all goes well for this gorgeous boy - love his ears too! x J

Totally agree with Caro Our beautiful boy constantly got overlooked in kennels not pushing himself forward for fuss In our home he's an absolute joy to have, slotting into our lives so easily Loves his cuddles..gives us nose snuffle kisses when asked..keeps us laughing at his antics and plays happily with our other grey These longer stay greys often make the best pets- quietly waiting patiently to chose the right family ..don't pass them by..get to know them Chappy will love you for it And yes..Jed is lovely too ! Like Chappy I have a quiet, understated greyhound and these very often get over looked by prospective owners as they don't put themselves forward, all I can say is please don't walk pass their kennels, take some time these quiet greys can make really loving, affectionate and great additions to any family. My quiet lad goes on awareness days and fund raisers he is a seasoned pro at them now and will quietly lap up all the attention in his lovely calm way. One of the most rewarding experiences with him was when a grandmother come up to me at an awareness day with her grandson who was about 5 and explained that he had been bitten badly by a dog over a year ago and had been frightened ever since, I had seen them looking at Jed we stood talking and after a few minutes the little boy tentatively stroked Jed's ear which then progressed to a proper cuddle so please people just because a dog may appear reserved, slightly apprehensive doesn't mean that they can't make a fantastic companion. My lad is still quiet, takes life at his own pace but doesn't miss a thing. I met Chappy at Stratford and he does have comparisons with Jed.

Chappy has been a busy lad today. This morning he travelled with Meg to the Stratford Walk and from there he went up to the Melbicks awareness.
Throughout the day he has behaved as a perfect gentleman. He loves all other dogs of any breed. Walks well on the lead and travels perfectly in the car.
He is a cautious dog when meeting people he doesnt know but extremely affectionate in a quiet understated way once he knows you.
He can at times seem slightly daunted by very small children.
He will fit perfectly into a family with other dogs( no cats).
I do hope he wont have to wait too long for his forever home as he is one of those quiet dogs who can sometimes get overlooked which would be such a shame as he is going to make a wonderful companion for some lucky person or family.

Met the lovely Chappie at the Stratford walk today, he is more handsome than his photos show. He interacted really well with my two one of whom can be a bit boisterous. Chappy took it all in his stride. I hope he finds his forever home soon I cannot understand why he has been overlooked.

Thank you Chappy for your company today on the Bruton Park walk. You were a little unsure at first but after a few minutes you soon settled and walked like a proper gentleman round the park,no interest in any non greyhounds. A bit unsure of of bikes but your confidence grew with everyone you met and you soon enjoyed any fuss that came your way. I am sure you will make a super pet for some lucky family and we hope it will be very soon xx

I met the gorgeous Chappy today and took him for his walk. He is very, very nervous at the moment and it took a lot of persuasion to get him out of his kennel. The traffic on the A45 worried him and he was very jumpy on the way down. He calmed down a bit on the way back but was relieved to get back to the safety of his kennel! He is totally loveable though and enjoyed his cuddle after his walk. I'm sure he will settle in a few days when he is used to his new routine. A really handsome Chappy!
