Saturday 20 Nov 22:24

Quick update on Max, he's settled down really well, he's even started to put on a bit of weight at last. He's certainly made himself at home and loves his walks, getting his lead on him as he looks you in the eyes with his paws on your shoulders does take some getting used to but its all part of the Max experience, that and trying to eat the food off the bird table before the birds get there!!
All in all he's doing fab and is very, very gentle with our 2 yr old, we wouldn't swap for the world!!xx

Thank you for your kind comments Laura, when we borrowed Max from Steve & Wendy last week I think it must have been your bed he came with, we dropped this off at the kennels today, thank you for the loan I think it really helped Max settle. x

We are missing Max very much but are in no doubt he now has the fantastic home he so very much deserves. He made such an impact on everyone that got to know him, a perfect gorgeous boy. Thank you again Nigel and Vic for offering him a home, so pleased he is doing so well with Daisy and your littleone.

Thanks also for comments made by Kay and Laura, it is very much appreciated. Greyhound people are so nice, it's like having a second family...xxxxx

Hi Steve and Wend, I know how hard it is to say goodbye to this boy, even if after only a week. Hopefully, this will be his last stop on his touring of lots of loving homes. Good luck Max, you are a sweetheart. Love and hugs. xxxx

Sunday 24 Oct 20:13

Hi Wendy & Steve, we can't believe how chilled Max is, if ever we needed a reason to believe in fate then meeting yourselves and Warren yesterday just proved it to us, we came in to get Daisies teeth cleaned and ended up taking the beautiful boy Max home. Our Daisy loves him they even had a drink out of the same bowl last night. It turns out Daisies daddy is Max's Grandad so they are even related.
Thank you so much for giving us the chance to get to know him, so far so good, keep you posted.xx

Even with our dilema over Max and with our present situation, we were going to have him for another week to workout some finances and also to make sure Gracie would accept him. This however still wouldn't solve the problem of lack of space (playing space for our 5 yr old son).

We took Max to Daybreaks today for a visit. As we arrived we met a lovely family and their gorgeous grey Daisy, to cut a long story short Max is now staying with them to see how they get on. We know he will be well looked after and Daisy seemed to luv him from the off. We however now look like we have gone 5 rounds with Mike Tyson (puffy eyes), if things don't work out he will more than likely be coming back to us. We miss him so much already, it wasn't an easy decision to make and it broke our hearts to let him go. Lots of luvs and cuddles to you Max xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Hi Steve and Wend, I met you and your gorgeous dogs at Daybreaks a couple of weekends ago, ( I had my little girl, blonde hair, with me). It was the day Mr. Blue came back in along with Lass. I really hope it works out for you all with Max, he's such a lovely dog, and I could see how much you love greys. Will be keeping everything crossedxxx

Thursday 21 Oct 20:58

Hi Laura,

Max is still at home with us at the moment, pulling at our heart strings. We will be going to daybreaks on Saturday to drop off the bed you lent us (which Blaze keeps stealing), still deciding whether we can cope with 3 greys, a 5 yr old boy plus financial costs. We will have to make a final decision tomorrow........

Max has been a star, he loves his food and is very affectionate, He has just climbed onto the sofa next to Wend and put his head onto her leg.....
He is very good on the lead, when he meets other breeds he just has a little cry and a bark no pulling at all. He has been a joy to have here, if wasn't for a few issues (not with max, he is a gent) he would have a permanant home here. Gracie is being a little madam towards him over the last few days, plus a lack of room. We shall see, will keep you all updated. Whatever the outcome Max will be at Daybreaks on sat, maybe on a visit xx

Sunday 17 Oct 21:24

Hi Steve and Wendy..... Thanks for your update on Max and it's fantastic to he is doing so well. If you are not thinking of keeping Max it might be best to bring him back to the kennels so he can be seen and hopefully find a permanent home soon. x

by steveandwend

Sunday 17 Oct 20:42

Just an update, Max has been brilliant. He slept all night with no mess, still getting on well with Blaze and Gracie. He came for walk in the park this afternoon came into contact with two other breeds, had a little bark at the first but no lunging. The second came within 4 yards of him but still no lunging or barking, so lots of luvs and treats upon returning home. Max has also been very good with our 5 year old son, proving to be very tolerant towards children. Overall Max would be the perfect companion for anybody, he loves fuss but isn't demanding with it. Please please someone offer him a permanant home, you wouldn't regret it xx

Max has been 'visiting' us since Sunday evening and is an absolute gent. He settled quickly and has mastered all of our routines. He hasn't messed and has been fine with Roxy even when being left all day whilst we work. He has shared beds and food and been a real sweetheart. His photo doesn't show how handsome and loving he is. Anyone would be lucky to have him!

Just to let you know that Max seems to be settling in really well and seems quite content. He's a very bouncy, friendly chap and seems to get along fine with the girls. We all just love him to bits. The only trouble now is trying to get them ready for walkies, as they all want to be first to have their leads on.
