Happy 3rd Gotcha day Nifty! We cannot believe it's been 3 years since we bought Nifty home. He's seen a lot of changes & just adapts to everything. He is so gentle & polite towards Cilla & Flo (unless treats are involved & then hes first in line). We cannot thank Kate enough for that first introduction to Nifty & Ruth for allowing us to take him home. Nifty loves coming back to Daybreaks as he is quite popular with everyone & he loves the fuss he gets. Xxx

It was great to see Nifty, Cilla and Flo at the kennels today. Cilla went home with a new winter coat. :) Poor Nifty had a spot that Ruth enjoyed getting rid of it for him....don't think he was very impressed! Xxx

12 months ago this gentle giant made us a family. Nifty its been a brilliant 12 months. You are such a lovely chilled out boy. You took to Roadshows after a shaky start but Luna & Berry took you under their wings and showed you how much fun you can have. You now have a sister who adores you & you are a typical big brother to her but always there to look after her if she needs you. Lastly thanks Daybreaks for everything over the 12 months - you've been brilliant and also to Greyhound trust Solihull for all the new friends we have made. Xx

Ah sweetie, I'm so glad you had a lovely time at the park with Jeremy. We are all at a loss as to why you have been with us for so long. You've had so many lady kennel companions come and go, your latest friend, the very busy and bouncy little Maggy, loves to lie with her head resting on your bottom for a snooze!! You are a very calming influence and such a gentle soul - surely your forever home is out there.

I've had to get a new phone, so I will be in to take a new photo of you for my screensaver, maybe the change will do the trick!!

‘Why is Nifty still here???’ I said to Kate this afternoon as N and I returned from a walk in a park. ‘I don’t know!’ she said, ‘he’s such a lovely boy!’.
Our afternoon out together started with an enthusiastic Nifty leaping into the back of my car - normally this would not be a problem but I do not have a back to my car as it is a coupe. Nevertheless, we set off for Elmdon Park and N settled down quickly and enjoyed the short ride.

It turned out to be a most enjoyable walk with a very handsome hound. Nifty had a good sniff at everything and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Nature Park. He was very intrigued by other breeds but nothing suggested to me that he would have any issues freely mixing with other dogs. If anything he seemed to want and go and play with them.
For those of us fortunate to mingle with the Daybreaks hounds on a regular basis, we all learn to recognise the individual qualities of the kennel denizens and regularly question why they have been overlooked by prospective adopters. Nifty is a glorious hound and a magnificent example of his breed.
He really, really, really should have his own sofa by now.

Nifty did a full walk this morning without his boot on and seemed absolutely fine. Hopefully he is now back to his normal self! xx

Nifty's toe is looking much better...we had a lot of trouble trying to keep his boot on to go for a walk this afternoon! Xxx

I was pleased to see Nifty today at Brueton Park Walk, only from a distance though, as I had my hands full! I was right about his personality though. It really shone through as he happily rolled on the grass in delight at the end of the walk. I'm sure he'll find his forever home very soon.

I've been watching out for this boy - he reminds me of our Judy who we adopted from RGT as a 5 year old and who very suddenly passed away 3 years ago at the grand old age of 13. Been thinking of bringing another baby home more lately. His fella touches my heart xxxx

Flutterfan - Nifty is an awesome lad. Since his return to Daybreaks he has really come into his own. He has a really beautiful, shiny coat, is easy to walk and is very friendly. I always look forward to walking with him.

What a lovely face Nifty has! I have not met him but I'm surprised that he is still waiting for his own sofa. Perhaps a visit to the Stratford Walk or Brueton Park will give him chance to shine. The right home will be waiting for him.

Nifty was VERY keen to get out on his walk this morning. However, he soon changed his mind after we all got drenched in the pouring rain! In spite of being towelled down when we returned, he spent quite a long time drying off his head on his bed blanket! xx

This gorgeous boy is sharing a kennel with my lovely Ella. This morning, when we put them back after breakfast, he jumped up on the bed first and Ella (who is still sporting a very fetching red bandage on her poorly paw!) was still on the floor. Nifty leant down and ever so gently licked Ella's ears from his vantage point on the bed - ah, I melted!! Bless him, such a lovely boy. xxx
