Thank you everyone for your lovely comments. She is very much missed but we know we gave her a loving home and spoilt retirement…… a shame it couldn’t of been for a lot longer. Shanishoo yes them eyes definitely followed you everywhere xxx

Dear Lisa & Gary Paul and I were incredibly sad and shocked to read the news that you’ve lost your beautiful Shandy. We can only try to imagine how you’re both feeling right now and will be keeping you in our thoughts.
Run free Shandy, go play with all those balls and toys at rainbow bridge and lounge in the beautiful sunshine with all our old friends xxxx

I have to say that my husband and I have absolutely loved looking at the gorgeous Miss February, most days we would stand in the kitchen having a cuppa and say, isn't she beautiful and she's following me again ( no matter where we stood her eyes would be on us), when I told my husband that Shandy had gained her wings he was very sorry. She was a credit to you, thank you for sharing Shandy with us and making us smile xxxx

This week we had to say goodbye to our girl…a total shock is an understatement but thank you Shandy for the wonderful memories including early morning garden sniffinks, showing us how greyhounds play fetch and hogging my chair in the winter and the sun in the garden in the summer, the games of hide and seek or kangaroo impressions before walkies and our Miss February Star ….. we’re going to miss you, go and run free over that rainbow until we meet again xxxxxx

Happy 3rd Gotcha day to Shandy, Can’t believe we have had her 3years already feels like yesterday she came home with us......her recent new found skill is how to get me off my chair so that she can have it and get comfy:-), oh and this year she has decided she doesn’t care about fireworks anymore haha.....she’s still enjoying lovely walks and playing fetch in the garden (her catching skills are brilliant)......We wouldn’t be without her and she is happily munching on a pigs ear in front of the fire to celebrate.....Shandy said she would prefer an ostrich bone and isn’t happy we haven’t got her one yet!!! Well done to everyone for their fabulous work at daybreaks and to everyone that has homed a Grey-we are looking forward to Tiggys fundraising christmas online auction.

We couldn’t come to the launch day as Shandy has a poorly leg and is on bed rest as much as possible (she’s not finding that too difficult). Wishing you all the best for the launch day and many more years of finding Greys their forever sofas....once shandy is better and can have walks we will be coming in with some treats and donations.....thank you daybreaks for giving me two fantastic Greys xxx

Shandy had a lovely walk with everyone around Sheldon park today. So lovely hearing how everyone’s Greys are doing and Shandy gave out some kisses :-). She’s been curled up since we got back snoozing the day away and has only just got up to ask for a walk. So looks like it’s off out into the dark and the cold........she loves it, mommy hates it.....we will be popping in over the next few weeks to drop off Christmas goodies for the kennels as I haven’t been able to get to the kennels due to work and other commitments (I’m very much missing my Saturday walks with the other volunteers and workers and all the greys that I instantly fall in love with-hopefully it won’t be to long before we get a big brother for Shandy) :-).

One year ago today the official paperwork was completed and Shandy had her home. The day we took her she had been on a roadshow and was coming back just as we were deciding on if we were ready to rehome another Greyhound (so glad she came walking up the drive at that precise moment because we wouldn’t be without her)....Shandy had an extra lazy day and a bone to celebrate and is now stretched out in front of the fire...........they all have their own little special ways and her love of playing fetch is hilarious. Sending love to everyone at daybreaks and hoping more get their own homes soon xxxx

Sending lots of loves to Ruth and hoping she gets better soon....mommy has been taking me on lots of holibobs lately or working which means she hasn’t been able to visit the kennels recently but hopefully she will be popping in some treats this week before she goes on holiday without me (we are not happy about this but she has to take nanny to enjoy a hotter holibob on a plane sometimes!!)... we are still trying to convince daddy I want a brother but he is still saying no until he finishes work (we have our fingers crossed that’s soon)....we hope everyone had a fab time at GGG today and also wanted to say it is my big sisters 8th birthday on rainbow bridge today we just hope she is enjoying roaches, zoomies and a big bone with our other loved ones xxxx

Happpyyyyyyyy birthday to youuuuuuu. Back from our holidays in time for Shandy to spend a lazy birthday day at home opening pressents and staying cool (although she has an intense dislike of her cool coat so much so that when I pick it up she runs and hides).........she almost managed her first roach today yeayyyyyyyy xxxxx

I know how you feel - Casey had a bad night and I ended up sleeping on the sofa next to him. It's not made for people my size to sleep on so I have a bit of a stiff neck this morning. What we do for our hounds eh?

Super tired today because this one decided to try and take her pyjamas off in the middle of the night resulting in tangled legs and the greyhound screech of death (very scary in the middle of the night) then needed lots of love to get over it....gotta love her though :-).

Shandy had her first proper pamper since being with us and is smelling and feeling wonderful. She loved her play in the sand run and is now curled up in front of the fire with her new squeaky toy (that is the first to keep the squeak after 10 minutes)...I’m so glad I chose to rehome another Greyhound, and still trying to convince shandy’s daddy that we should have a second (ruby rebel would be my choice at the moment closely followed by Tony)

Happy New Year to everyone at Daybreaks, let’s hope this year brings us lots of lovely new homes for the Greys...and as for Shandy she has had a lovely time in the Peak District on some long walks where she has found her voice and now before her morning walk she likes to jump around like a kangaroo and bark at us (her playful personality is starting to show now she is losing her nervousness). So funny to see and on our return home she decided no more sleeping on her own downstairs and came to join us upstairs (with a bit of help until she masters it). Only thing is today she has realised how comfy the bed is so I’m not sure we will get it back tonight. We hope 2018 is a great one for everybody xxx

I think that a lot of Daybreaks hounds (ex and current) are really going to have a fantastic Christmas. Enjoy your first one with Shandy, she’s a real sweetie! I’m sure that Ella would approve.

Shandys first Christmas in a home and I can’t wait to see her open her presents in the morning...she is going to go barmy with the squeaky ball. She’s only been with us for a month but has settled so well, welcomes everyone, loves her walks and it is a joy to have her in our lives. We wish everyone a very merry Christmas and hope all the greys on foster have a great time and find their forever sofas soon...and to our special girl Ella who only went to rainbow bridge recently we hope your having some fun up there.

That sign needs to go Green quick ... Shandy is so good and has been left on her own today for a little while no problem. She certainly knows how to silently sneak up on you though, especially when food is about and I think her favourite hobby is watching us cook lol. She can be very excited on her walks but it is new to her and it is lovely seeing how interested she is in everything and I know with a little bit of training she will take everything in her stride. I am so happy we have made the decision to give Shandy a happy and very lazy retirement.

Shandy has been with us since Saturday and what a delight she is..a little nervous at times but comes to us for a fuss and loves her food and walks (her first walk in the park was very funny as she wanted to look at everything and got very excited). She has slept through the night no problem (although at the bottom of the stairs on her bed and duvets-we are hoping we will be able to entice her up soon). She uses the garden for toileting and didn’t really need any encouragement...such a sweet girl ????. Just got to see how she is being left now ready for when we go back to work but we will be doing that gradually over the next few days ????????
