We let our amazing Maggie Moo Chops go this morning. She was amazing greyhound with an enormous personality. She was as crooked as a question mark, had snappy chatty teeth, licky chops and was a bossy boots partner in crime with Foxy. She has left a massive hole and we will miss her so much. My poor Maggie had a stroke yesterday evening. It lasted a few minutes and she is ok today. I am going to take her to the vets tomorrow - luckily we are used to the signs of a stroke as Max used to have them and hopefully we can control them for a little while once she is on medication.

I am just wondering if I can be a member of the FFP Club too? Maggie was our very first foster dog in 2006 before we opened Daybreaks and I broke my heart the day she went off to her new home - however, this was the exact day Foxy arrived at 14 weeks old so I became full occupied with the Uppy monster! Maggie was subsequently returned twice for various reasons the second time being in 2009 when we knew the time was right to really keep her...... she has brought us so much joy and we secretly are pleased when was returned - fate.......

I am so happy that our beautiful Maggity Moo has reached a grand 13 years of age. She is still a spritely, agile, happy girl who loves leaping around with her toys and playing with her best mate Foxy. Sara has just given her some pork pie - she is a happy girl! Hope there are many more birthdays to come for her! xxxxx She was our very first foster dog - bounced out of two homes and finally came back to us at the age of 9.... Thank you for all your kind words - Maggie had her tooth out (it was a tricky op as it was a healthy rooted canine but as she had broken it (don't ask how) it was hard to remove. We brought her home last night and she had loads of treats and I am sure she will be back to her usual very bouncy self very soon :-))))))

Oh Ruth poor Maggie, shes one of my special favourites too ... if it helps Tig picked up very quickly from her liver abcess once they got the antibios into her so I'm sure Maggie will be the same and Moke had a toe off and was so much happier without it... sounds like she's going the right way. What a shame tho - a huge vet's bill just before Christmas :( Big hugs to Maggie from me and you all too ... you must be shattered with her poorly as well.

You would not believe the difference in Maggie this morning. She is bright again and has eaten her breakfast and even been out for a wee.... albeit very wobbly. Thanks to everyone for their kind words. Like all our greys - they are so precious and to see them hurting is the worst thing in the world.

Poor precious Maggie - she had to have a toe amputated on Monday and had a couple of teeth out. During the day on Wednesday she unfortunately jumped on Joe in his bed and he bit her on her flank. She had emergency stitch up that evening.

This afternoon I got home from the kennels and the wound looked terrible. I rushed her to the vets. The vet said septicaemia had started to set in. She was operated on again this afternoon where they had to remove muscle and dead tissue and much infection and is in a very poorly and serious state. She has 3 drains in and a mountain of antibiotics. We are keeping her as warm and settled as possible and keeping our fingers crossed. The vet said if we had left her til tomorrow she would not have survived the night. We are counting our blessings at the moment and hoping she makes a good recovery soon.

My beautiful girl has settled in as though she was never away. I love her so much and I'm proud she is part of our family. Fate works in mysterious ways......

She hasn't aged Ruth. She's still lovely. Yours at last after three and a half years
