Just a quick update from the Diggins clan in the New Forest. The lovely Devon - dark brindle female nearly 6 - came home with Tim & Sue last week. Rescued from Greyhound Lifeline based in Southampton (so not far from us) and off for weekly meet tomorrow. Lots of love to all Greys and Humans. Tim, Sue, Anna (Spanner and Devon. xxxxx

Hello from the New Forest.
It will be Daisy's 11 birthday on Saturday and Tim (her human) has asked to me put a special message on. She has also been in the Diggins household for 5 (and a quarter) years. Not been too well of late but seems to be on the mend.
Here's hoping all the waiting greys get a forever home/sofa soon. Paws crossed.
Love to all greys and humans.

A quick message from Tim, Daisy's human to say she has now been with us for 3 years. She is a definite live wire and knows her own mind. Enjoying her new garden with her brother Stanley (getting a bit wobbly but still a lovable chap).

Awww. Poor Daisy. That's a lot of teeth to have removed but, if she's anything like my Bert was, she'll be so much better without them. Bert had all of his teeth removed I've 3 separate ops.
Glad to hear she's got some bounce back and is eating.

Daisy recently had her birthday but has been having trouble with her teeth/gums. Went in for dental on Saturday and had 25 teeth removed and had to spend the night. Human Tim and grey Stanley found it weird without her. Collected yesterday and had some of usual bounce and managed a light meal.
Hope all greys and their humans are staying safe. Annaxx

Great new from the New Forest from Stanley and Daisy.

Daisy will be 6 on Saturday 1st June (Tim has made her a card!!!). She has been with us for 9 weeks now, seems longer. Stanley suffering with arthritis. Tim is walking separately, shorter and softer for Stanley who is now on CBD oil.
Stanley and Daisy get on fantastic, rub noses and she licks his ears and feet (Spanner - mine too!!!) when he is lying down. She has made great progress with getting used to all the new dogs and breeds we meet, but small fluffy ones she is a bit too interested in at the moment. She is very affectionate to anyone visiting (shame about the hair loss), also if we meet people without dogs.
We got her a Julius K9 harness, thank you Kate, seems to calm her and gives me better control. Unfortunately the first time she ran in the garden after 1.5 weeks ? hurt/damaged rear left leg and pad of right leg, 3 visits to vets. Been on lead ever since. However yesterday took her to Racing Kennels near Romsey and they really checked her over before running in the sand. No real problems, a little bit of scar tissue from racing days (and possibly when she jarred herself when running in the garden) we are very relieved.
We hope that all the Greys get their forever homes/sofas soon.
Lots of love Stanley, Daisy, Tim, Sue and Spannerxx

We are all happy bunnies - whoops wrong word!!! but Easter is only one week away. Good luck to all greys waiting forever sofas/homes. Thanks to all the helpers. Hi, seen Daisy a couple of times over weekend apparently settling nicely and even shared bed with Stanley. Seems to have a lovely nature. Getting used to her new neighbourhood - 4 shit suz (? spelling) didn't help in one go. Apparently not keen on cats either just like Stanley. She sneaks up behind you so definitely going to have to keep an eye out.
Hugs for all greys. Annaxxx

I love you so much and would love to give you all that you deserve. I know we shouldnt have favourites and I really do love everyone but you get a tincy wincy bit more love from me. I am desperate to see you get a nice home but I wont half miss you. Maybe you can persuade Auntie Shirley that she wont notice if you stay on!!! That way we all get to see you occasionally!! Just a little update on little Daisy. She has been staying with us since Thursday evening when she returned from her neutering operation and having some teeth removed. Can't really make much comment on the first two days because she was quite poorly after her operation.
She has been clean in the house, going into the garden to do what she needed to even when she was poorly. She is gaining confidence all the time, coming out of her cage to wait with our three for treats and meals. She has been for a little wander with Cello (Cello doesn't care about other dog breeds) and when she saw a small dog she was really interested but turned back when told no.
Now that she is feeling better she is eating her meals, eating the same food as our three.
From what we have seen of her so far, with a little bit of time for her to settle, she will be a lovely little dog to have in your home. Clean in the house, eating well and able to get on with other greyhounds.

Ah, Daisy. I'm SO happy you're being fostered. I haven't stopped thinking about you since I walked you on Sunday. I was looking forward to seeing/walking you this Sunday when we come to the kennels but this is much better for you. This little girl is, as LM says, such a sweetheart. Initially, I thought she might be my long lost grandgirl but sadly she isnt. She is the image of my Melly and has melted my heart but like LM I cant have 3 again. She is always so gentle when I go into her kennel and never complains when Debs butts in to get a kiss & cuddle. She is always good when being walked. I havent been with her around any other dogs other than the kennel residents so I cant comment. I am hoping that she will not be waiting too much longer for her retirement sofa. She so deserves it.

I had the pleasure of walking this sweetheart today at the Sheldon Country Park Walk. She waited patiently to leave the kennels and got into the soft crate in our campervan by herself easily. She didn't seem phased at all by the fact our own greyhound, Skip, was in his own crate. When we got to the park she quietly waited to be let out of the van. I was warned that she's not keen on little dogs and she did initially bark and pull a bit, but with distraction and telling her she was a good girl she calmed down. She walked very well other than when she saw the little dogs off lead - again, some gentle talking to her and distraction and she kept walking. It started raining quite heavily and this didn't phase her either.

She got back into the camper happily and we took her back to the kennels. She then didn't want to get out. I think she wondered why we'd taken her back. It broke my heart but we can't have 3 dogs.

From what I've seen of Daisy today, she's a sweetheart but but won't be able to live with little dogs (or maybe non greys?) Walking-wise she was a little bit of a puller when there were off lead dogs, but I'm not strong and I could control her.

I really hope someone with the right home set up falls in love with beautiful Daisy and takes her to her forever home soon.

Lynne x
