Oh no, feeling so upset for you. You are such a gentle sweet character. It is important to ensure the home environment is safe and appropriate for you and all the other residents so keep your chin up sweet boy. Its still early days and you are so hsndsome I am sure it wont be too long before the right home comes along. Xx

Following the home visit it was felt the circumstances and time is not quite right to adopt Mikey so he is unreserved.

This is excellent news!! Although you are settling you strike me as being a more gentle soul who will definitely benefit and blossom more from having your own home. I loved your kisses and cuddles on Friday so I am sure your new family will have lots of affection from you. Well done sweet boy!!

We had the pleasure of the company of this gorgeous boy today as we gave him a day out from the kennels. He had to be lifted into the car (good job he is a small boy!!) but once in he travelled beautifully, lying down straight away and not disturbing.

We had a great day in the fabulous Spring sunshine, we went down to the Golf Club and had a walk round the lake followed by coffee on the patio. Mikey was fascinated by everything going on around him, but walked beautifully and trotted along between us drawing admiring glances from the fishermen, golfers and other walkers. He was intrigued by the Canada Geese and other water fowl, but made no attempt to pull, bounce or anything else. I really think he revelled in being out and about.

Back at our house he had a good sniff round as you would expect, did put his paws up on the kitchen counter once, but responded very quickly to a firm "no". Our TV screen now has a lovely nose print as he had a look at the "other dog" in the corner!! but was not phased at all by the noises that came from it when we switched it on.

He does love a lot of fuss and did follow us everywhere - but everything was so strange and outside of his normal routine that this was only to be expected and considering all the new sights and sounds he was subjected to he did very well and was such a good boy all day. Strangely enough he would not take a treat from our hand, but did enjoy them once dropped on the floor.

Sleep well tonight my lovely boy, you've had a busy and exciting day, it was a real pleasure to spend the day with you. Here's hoping that you can soon be in a home of your very own. xx

We took Mikey out today. He travelled beautifully in the car and was such a good gentle boy on the lead, he didn't pull at all. He met lots of different breeds and was lovely and calm the whole time. He really did love a fuss too and kept headbutting me and leaning in for more. He is a really fantastic boy and will make a wonderful companion.

Elizabeth thank you so much for taking this lovely boy out today. He is struggling a bit in the kennels at the moment, not eating too well and being a bit stressed. Yesterday morning I sat with him for a while and he tried his best to climb into my lap!! He is so handsome, and not a big fella, and it sounds like he enjoyed being away from the kennel environment. Let's hope he can find his forever home soo where he can start to relax. Xx

Mikey came for a walk with me today along some very muddy canals. To be fair, I hadn't expected a longer walk. He didn't really seem to want to walk to the car and once at the car, had no idea what to do then! Luckily he didn't mind being man handled into the boot and lay down straight away. Once at the canals, he was like a different dog. He was off like a rocket, walking at the full length of his lead, but not pulling. He turned his head a few times to look at me, almost to check that I was still on the other end of the lead. We came back through some fields and he (rather bemusedly) manages several kissing gates. He also came nose to nose with a medium sized dog with no problems whatsoever. He was a pleasure to be out and about with. With the spring in his step, I think he thoroughly enjoyed being out and about as well. He's a very handsome chap x

Thanks to Lucy for the great photos of new boy Mikey! He has been a poorly boy over the last few months. His trainer has worked very hard to nurse him back to health. He does need a wheat and soya free diet but this wouldn't be difficult to achieve. His trainer has said she is happy to offer advice to anyone who is interested in offering her special lad a home. Xxx
