Hi! We are Paige’s new family. Paige and Wendy were lifelong kennel mates. We were sad not to be able to rehome them together but it sounds like Wendy found a gorgeous home with you ???? tell Wendy that Paige says ???????? xx

My beautiful Wendy had a dental just under two weeks ago. After a slightly distressful night she recovered very well and was given the all clear by the vet today. She's such a happy hound- always smiling and following her friend Jinky around house and garden. She's been an absolute delight from day one- I can't believe I've had her now for nearly 4 years - they've flown by - taking two house moves in her stride!

Great to hear how your lovely girls Wendy and Jinky are doing. :)) Its obvious how much you love them. It's so good to know how the boys and girls are. Any previous Daybreaks residents, if you are reading this please drop us a line to let us know how you are! :)) Xxx

How lovely to read such a brilliant update on the beautiful Wendy. Delighted that she continues to bring such joy & happiness to her family, especially during these very difficult times. I remember this very timid little girl well, and am so happy that she is flourishing. xxx

During these difficult times I thought it good to give a further update on Wendy. She is now such a confident and happy dog, always 'smiling' and absolutely adores her 'sister' Jinky! She is a real joy and brings much happiness day by day. It is hard to believe that she ran some 80 odd races, particularly when you see her curled up on the bed for the most of the day. Someone was definitely looking over both myself and Jinky on the day that we decided to adopt her. I do hope that Ruth and all the staff at daybreaks are able to continue to give these wonderful dogs a most loving home.

Thank you for your kind comments regarding Wendy. With patience and love it goes to show that even the most timid of dogs can flourish. I’m blessed that I have been able to offer Wendy a loving home and watch her grow in confidence and character. Long may the great work of Daybreaks continue.

What a lovely update on Wendy. So pleased to her that she is doing so well and continues to bring you so much happiness. She sounds like a little treasure, and so different from the timid little girl she was in kennels.

A quick update on the beautiful Wendy! We finally moved into our 'own' house mid September - considering she has had 2 moves in a very short space of time she has taken it all in her stride. I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone since her adoption in Sept 2019. Her character really shines through now - a loving dog who just wants to give so much and expects very little in return. She is always smiling and loves following her 'sister' Jinky around all the time. She continues to love spending time curled up on the bed and sleeps solidly throughout the night. A real poppet who has brought so much delight and happiness! I can't imagine life without her!

Wendy has now moved with her sister Jinky to South Yorkshire (sadly their older sister Lily went to Rainbow Bridge on the 22nd aged 13 and a half years). Both are enjoying the wonderful countryside and walks along public footpaths, fields and along streams. She still continues to bring much joy and happiness and hog the bed at night!!!

You wouldn't recognise this hound now - she is such a confident dog from the very timid dog I first picked up! She went for her booster yesterday (her first time away from her sisters) and whilst nervous, took everything in her stride! She is an absolute poppet - I couldn't have wanted for a happier dog! Still spends every evening curled up next to me in bed - and let's me know when it's time to get up! Keep up the good work at Daybreaks!

What a difference a couple of months makes after rehoming. Wendy is now so settled, greets me with a wagging tail and the typical greyhound bouncing every time I come home. She adores her sisters, particularly Jinky who she loves to stand over and stroke with her paw. She loves her walks and still loves to look for the squirrels! She has made friends with a Jack Russell that we greet most days. I would encourage anyone to look beyond the behaviour of the hound they may initially see in the kennels - with patience and love they really come out of their shell and become such loving happy dogs.

Update on Wendy: this wonderful girl has settled in brilliantly. She is so happy interacting with her two new friends who she adores. They all have birthdays this month - Lily today (13), Jinky on the 4th (7), and Wendy on the 7th
(4) - so it is party month! She has been golden from day
one with toileting, and sleeps solidly through the night, normally with her head on my shoulder! Squirrels are her fascination when out walking, but she is fine with other
dogs big or small - greeting them with a wagging tail. She is
a real happy delightful hound who loves the comforts of home!

Hello. Wendy's new owner here. You will be amazed by how well this little girl has settled in with her new friends. She is becoming more and more self-assured each day and loves following my other two greys around. She discovered how comfy the bed is earlier this week and now spends each night curled up on it!! Life of luxury!!

Well Wendy, well done. Sometimes things work in mysterious ways. I know when you had a viewing yesterday that the lovely lady was so very torn between you and the dog she chose. She found it very difficult to decide. She made me reassure her that we would find you your perfect home. Job done I think!

Had the pleasure of taking Wendy for a walk this afternoon... well I hardly knew she was on the lead, the only time being when all the dogs spotted a squirrel!! Such a lovely girl who trots along nicely by your side. She sometimes needs a bit of reassurance, but it's nice to have a dog on the end of the lead that isn't determined to be at the front of the pack!! She's really adorable and I'm sure is missing the company of long standing pal Paige.. I so hope someone picks her soon! xx
