Would like to say a massive thanks to Shirley and Richard for taking Elmer out overnight. It was lovely to hear what a good boy had been, he really enjoyed his time away from the kennels and showed that could easily settle in to a home environment. Thanks again guys. X

As Kate has mentioned, Elmer came for a sleepover last night after helping at the Stratford Race Course Collection. He behaved really well at the race course and had quite a bit of interest in his I need a home vest.
He travelled well in the car and was very interested in all that was going on around him.
Once we took him home he settled quite well with our three. Ate all his dinner, he likes Harrington's, and then settled down in the lounge with everyone else.
He went out into the garden to do what he needed to both last night and this morning and learnt straight away where the door was.
He managed the stairs to sleep in a bed on the landing and we didn't hear a peep from him all night.
He will however need some practice on getting back down the stairs.
All in all he was a very good houseguest. He is a rather large dog, but he is a happy soul and loves his cuddles, a real gentle giant. A lovely addition to any family.

Elmer has a sleepover at Richard and Shirley's tonight :) They took him and their lad Murphy to the fund raising event at Stratford Race Course this evening. Had a photo earlier from Shirley of Elmer, Murphy, Cello and Maisie all looking very comfortable in their lounge. :)))) Xxx

By lunchtime Elmer was a lot more relaxed, happy to go walking with Tui round the car park. We decided to take Elmer and our Tui to Brueton Park for a couple of hours. She coped really well with children, scooters, radio controlled cars, cyclists, ball games and was patient while we had a coffee. Got very excited at squirrels and needed firm handling but was good natured and responded well. Lovely dog and we were very proud of her today. I'm sure she'll lose the anxiety around smaller breeds of dogs in time. Couple of pictures on the Facebook page.

Elmer is with us today at the Greyhound Dog Show. He was a bit bewildered at first but so was I! He's sociable, interested in everything and loves hugs. He's a good leaner, even crossing his legs to lean against you. Bundles of energy. Jumped into car boot and no problem travelling. Vocal at times like he's singing.

I had a chat with the very talkative Elmer today,too.He told me he's ready to find his forever home, and sofa.

Lovely Elmer came with me to Sheldon Country Park today. He travelled well and was a pleasure to be with. He is a thoroughly happy boy, who enjoyed being out and about. He was curious about other breeds and wanted to say hello to everyone. Happy to receive lots of fuss. Such a bundle of fun xx

Does Elmer have a home yet? What is he like with other dogs ?? xxxx

Elmer is a happy, friendly confident big boy. He was easy to walk. Interested in everything he never stopped wagging his tail. Big cuddles for this handsome big boy. Xxxx
