Hi. It’s lovely to read all the comments about Luna. She’s settling in brilliantly and has already taken over the sofa. She’s gentle, walks brilliantly on her lead and is enjoying playing ball in the garden. Luna and our son have definitely bonded and he keeps saying how much he loves her. She’s been brilliant with my parents’ dog and is getting used to seeing other dogs on her walks. Thank you to everyone at Day Breaks for looking after us so we’ll and for all your advice.

I am overjoyed to see this. It was lovely to meet you all at Melbicks and to have a good chat. Your son was so patience while we were talking , mind you Hollie appreciated all the cuddles. Luna you are a very lucky girl, you have found yourself a lovely family. xx

FANTASTIC. I am SO happy for you Wilma. As the judge said last week at the show when she gave you 5th place (out of a lot of entries), she couldn't resist that little face.
Don't forget to take your rosettes with you (3rd in 4-5 age group too). We're not at the kennels this week so may not see you before you go home. If we don't then be a good girl and we look forward to updates. Lynne, Simon, Skip and Sam. x

We had the delight of looking after Wilma from Saturday lunchtime until Sunday teatime to give her a break from kennels and take her to the dog show. She is a bundle of fun. She loves to play with toys but especially a ball. She travels well. She wasn't by all the noises of being in a home although she was very inquisitive and being so small nearly got through the bars of the child gate! She's very intelligent working things out quickly. She seems confident enough wherever she is and she seemed to get on well with my 2 boys (5 and 2) although I think they were bewildered by her presence in the house (they'd met before at the Sheldon walk and walked well together). She was a little star at the show getting 3rd for best black bitch (the judge said she loved her little face) and 5th in the age class (the judge had a very difficult job and had us jogging around the ring several times). She said to make sure whoever homes her knows there wasn't much between 1st and 6th. She was also part of the group of Daybreaks dogs who won 2nd for best family. I was so sad and nearly tearful taking her back to kennels but there's no way we can have another houndie. She's such a sweetheart giving kisses and cuddles. In the garden when she saw me the other side of the garden she'd run up to me all happy. She does seem a happy, cheeky soul. She gives the odd grumble if she's near other dogs (including greyhounds) but she doesn't seem to mean anything by it. She was fine with my 2 unmuzzled (although we did watch them of course). She'll make someone a fantastic pet and seems to be one who could be rehomed with another dog. Good luck darling Wilma. x

Had a cuddle with Wilma in her little 'apartment' this morning. Lovely dog and not too big either -leaving a little bit of space on the sofa for a human.Nice and gentle -definitely worth a look if you're visiting this weekend. Reserve her while you still can!

Wilma is a sweet little girl. Very dinky. I took her on the Sheldon walk this morning. She travelled very well - just needed a bit of a hand getting in and out of the crate. When we got out into the car park she showed her happy nature straight away and did a couple of little skips. She was excellent on the walk. She does grumble a little bit if another dog comes near her but this seems to be if it's unexpected or a non-greyhound. She walked with my 2 and others without any problems. She wasn't keen on a little pug/bulldog type dog on an extendable lead that came too close and she was interested in a football that was kicked nearby but she didn't seem at all nervous. I'm sure she'll settle down soon enough and not grumble once in her forever home. Whoever adopts her will have a lovely pet. Good luck Wilma in finding your forever home very soon. x

What a funny little girl Wilma is...she met Louis this morning. She had a little growl to herself for a few minutes then wasn't bothered about him at all. :))
