Congratulations on your wedding! Glad Paddy and Perdi are doing well (apart from Perdi's mishap) and how lovely to hear how Mr Darcy is keeping them in order - my 2 cats boss the 3 greys around too! Best wishes, Em x

Sorry for the lack of contact recently, we have been planning our wedding and we got married on 27th May. We took the dogs on honeymoon with us and Perdi had an accident (see notes on her profile), but I'm determined to give you all a proper and positive update of their progress.
Both dogs loved our honeymoon in Devon; beaches (not keen on sea, it moves too much and tastes horrible, no matter how often you try it!), woodland walks and open space, they were actually smiling and laughing on the last day, I swear!
Before that, they've been doing great, they're showing their true personalities now and they are the most amazing and adorable dogs.
They are firm friends with Mr Darcy, he sleeps curled up next to them sometimes, alternating between them, and sometimes they all pile on a bed together :-) darcy keeps them in order with the odd hiss and swipe, just to remind them that he's secretly fierce. He chews perdi's ears sometimes and 'bats' her with his paws and after a while she sometimes barks at him, at which point he hisses at her and stops!
They are very good with other dogs and great on their leads, they even coped with a pack of pomeranians on our honeymoon (they were a bit scared of them actually...lures that make a lot of noise and chase you...how strange!)
We love them so much, they love each other and we are all very happy. Just need Perdi to get better :-(
Paddy also picked up a minor injury, a sprain and a cut, but he's mending really well and bouncing around as normal really, he's being a very good boy without Perdi xx

Hi How are Paddy and Perdy getting on?

Paddy finally had his dental on Monday, only one tooth out and scale and polish. He sulked all evening (poor Perdi was so pleased to see him, but he just wanted to be left alone and kept taking himself off each time she cuddled up to him!), bit wobbly after the anesthetic, but slept it off. His breath has been LOADS better since the antibiotics kicked in and Jill's recommended finding a plaque-reducing supplement for him, so will let you know how it goes.

Paddy met a little black puppy...I think he thought she was a toy(!) she was very submissive and Paddy very gently mouthed her :-) We are determined to get to training classes in January, both Paddy and Perdi could do with more socialising and learning a few things (like Paddy learning to come when he's called whether he feels like it or not!)x

Happy Christmas Stef, Becky, Paddy, Perdi and Mr Darcy :-) xx

Ha ha i laughed so much when i read your comment - our two girls Baby and Saffy run like mad when they are let off the lead but we too have a 'big black lump' - our Jake prefers to watch the proceedings, staying by our sides. Its the black boys - so laid back!! Merry, chilled Christmas Paddy and Perdi - and the same to you Becky and Stefan xxx

Tuesday 21 Dec 22:02

Second festive run in the field today:-) Perdi is being really good, Paddy seems to get stuck and stands there like a big black lump no matter what we do, it's lovely to see them run tho, when Paddy can be bothered!! x

Friday 03 Dec 21:54

Paddy's been to the vets today, both dogs had their jabs (Perdi squeeled but Paddy didn't seem to notice), and Paddy is going to need a dental. Vet was lovely with them; Paddy will need a course of anti-biotics first and then the dental, so the vet has recommended we let the vaccination settle and do his teeth in January. His teeth don't seem to cause him pain, so that seems ok. Paddy has really started to settle, he's got a bit of bounce and loves a cuddle. He's been really good with Mr Darcy and is well behaved with Perdi, a real gentleman :-) x

Fireworks...interesting, Paddy HATES them! Perdi doesn't really care and despite her lying there calmly, Paddy was a shaking, panting, whiffing wreck...need to learn that TTouch me thinks! :-) x

Mr Darcy is getting braver again. He came downstairs several times yesterday to creep into the kitchen on the look out for left-overs! He's come nose to nose with Perdi with no concern, but is still scared of Paddy (silly colour-blind cat!)! xx

by StefanBecky

Monday 25 Oct 21:17

Paddy and Perdi are just having a nap on the same bed, again... Paddy has chattery teeth sometimes, which makes us laugh :0) he's very calm and excellent with the cat; we're hoping Perdi follows his lead having suddenly decided to chase and catch Darcy on Friday! :-( All three are fine...Darcy just needs to hold his ground more, wussy puss cat and stop rushing about :-) he's retreated upstairs again x

Friday 22 Oct 20:46

V pleased, Darcy is growing in confidence and venturing downstairs more and more. Perdi and Paddy have coped brilliantly with being left while we're at work, no accidents or destruction (touch wood). We plan to join training classes with them both next week. In the meantime they are getting lots of lovely walks, meeting lots of new things and learning to tell the difference between their names :-) If all continues to go well, we'll be dropping in next weekend to sign Paddy's papers and confirm that this is his forever home (it already is really...it's just that we can't make it this weekend!) x See you soon Becky & Stefan x

Paddy is still being fab. He and Perdi were left for the day yesterday with a loo break early afternoon courtesy of a friend :-) we returned to no mess and two waggy tails. Our friend had accidentally left the stairgate open (behind which hides Mr Darcy) and neither dog were upstairs! Mr Darcy was safe and calm. Paddy just loves a cuddle and he and Perdi have even shared a bed a couple of times...we love him x

Tuesday 19 Oct 18:51

Just to add to other messages that I'm really pleased he's settled so quickly and things are going well with Mr Darcy! He really does seem like a lovely dog, I know it's hard to decide what the right thing to do is .... but Perdi and Paddy has such a good ring to it. ;-) Hugs were in trade for those I received earlier after waving bye to Max, you're more than welcome. Hope to bump into you and your hounds again soon! :-) xx

James/Paddy is such a sweetheart. I was so nervous about bringing him home on Saturday and there was no need, he's been clean, quiet and showed next-to-no interest in Darcy (the cat). Darcy is very nervous of him, wuss, but Paddy has done nothing to deserve it. He's definitely staying for the week and Stefan and I are sure Darcy will gain confidence each day. We took Perdi and Paddy to the beach today and they were really well-behaved. Perdi loves him and they curled up on the back seat together for the ride home. As I'm writing this Perdi, Paddy and Darcy are all in the same room, Darcy on the back of the sofa...just in case :) Ruth - Thanks for giving me the confidence to take him, Laura - Thanks for the hugs... Becky x

Sorry James (Paddy) that we couldn't give you a forever home at ours - too many things going on at the moment but know you'll very quickly find a forever home as you 'tick' so many of the right boxes, especially for those new to having hounds. Good luck gorgeous boy xx

Hi I did the home check for James (Paddy) and he has lived just around the corner from me since he was homed. I know his previous family and there situation and he is coming back due to no fault of his own, I can't tell you how lovely this boy is and its heart breaking that he is coming back. If we hadnt had our second grey Daisy just a few months ago he would be living with us (we cant manage 3 in our flat). Please someone give him a chance he is cat friendly, house trained and an adorable beautiful boy who loves being around other greys so would slot right in to a ready made family, he would really just like a forever home. xxx

I'm so sorry it hasn't worked out for you ... why did I look at the kennels web site again ... good luck Jamie boy, keep smiling like that and you'll get a new home in no time xxx

I understand your thoughts about the children. May be it would be best for the kids to be older before you adopt a dog. If you have any thoughts about it not being the right thing to do then you must follow those thoughts.

Oh flip, I shouldn't have looked again, should I, I thought you had reserved on you yesterday James, so thought I could safely look!!!?? Never mind, you'll be fine, you're a real stunner, and having passed your cat test new mums and dads will be very keen to have you!! We're sending you a big hug and lots of good luck for finding your new family!!! Love Ann and Willow

We are just a bit worried about adopting James with such young children, I know the lovely boy may be excellent with kids but its what the kids might do to upset him ? My boy is nearly 5 and my little girl is coming 2. This is the only thing playing on our minds and would love to come and take James off you without doubt. But having never had a dog in this family before is something which will need a lot of thought. Thanks again Ruth

Well, we've managed to last ages without looking at this site (at least a week!!), James, you look like a complete stunner, such a beautiful face and a lovely name, question is, is my car big enough for two greys - guess I could always get a roofrack (for human passengers to sit on, not greys, I might add)??!! Why, oh why, did I have to look at this site? Good luck in choosing your new home Jamie boy!!! Lots of love from Ann 'n' Will
