Danny was unfortunately returned today. His owner was tending to the chickens and he lunged towards them. Unfortunately his owner got bitten. Andy and I collected him from Ross on Wye and dropped him at his new foster home in Banbury. His foster parents are experienced and we exchanged paperwork on the doorstep with gloves and face masks.

I have been in touch and heard that he has settled well - he has had a bath and is sunbathing in the garden. He is just so sweet.

Ah my boy it sounds like you have found yourself a brilliant home with lots of pals and lovely things to do. A bit naughty to pinch the steak, although I know you are a bit fussy about your food so you obviously have expensive tastes!!! Keep up the good work, and have a brilliant retirement. xx

Good morning all, Danny has settled in great, he is a very good boy with only 1 incident where he spotted a nice bit of steak my wife had cut up to put in a stir fry and he pinched a bit lol, but after a 4 hour ride home completely incident free we just laughed, he gets on well with his new friends 3 border collies and pinky our pot bellied pig, he loves his runs round the fishery in the morning and down the field in the afternoon, we havent been down the beach yet but as soon as the weather improves we'll be there. He's loving all the fuss and attention he's getting and when he's had enough its a quick warm in front of the log burner and lie down on his bed next to the radiator. I will send pictures and updates through and i'm starting a new fb group called a greyhounds life. hope you all had a great christmas and wishing you a happy new year, best wishes, Darren, Hannah, Danny, Toffee,sooty,casper and pinky xx

I am over the moon for you Danny boy. You were such a good boy on the walk today, walking with my baby Sam a lot of the time. You were naturally inquisitive but calm. Even Sam was unsure when the dog darted past us that Liz_beth mentioned. I'll see you on Friday to give you a cuddle before you go off home - which sounds wonderful. x

Danny came with me to Sheldon Country Park today. He still needs help getting in the car but travels really well once in there safely. He met lots of dogs (Westie, Spaniel, Staffie, Labrador) politely. He was actually nose to nose with them with no issues. His only slight wobble was with a dog neither of us saw coming; it made me jump as well though! He is a lovely boy, who adapted his pace for a more gentle walk today. Here's hoping he has his own sofa for Christmas x

The very handsome Danny came with me for a walk to the park today. He loves his walks and is so happy to be out. He is quite strong initially but chills out after 10 minutes. He was very well behaved throughout the visit and came nose to nose with a variety of dogs, from big to small. He is a lovely hound , who will make a super companion. Fingers crossed that he gets his own sofa for Christmas x

Oh he sounds just the chap, we have 3 border collies 3 chickens a guinea fowl and a pig lol I think if this boy is still there when I come up on the 19th I think he may be coming back to Pembrokeshire with me, I'm sure he'll love a run on newport beach on boxing day just like our old greys did with our other boys ???? Danny boy, you are now Daybreaks longest stayer, having been with us for 4 days more than Miss Scruff! So it is time to get you on my phone as a screensaver - the number of times this has worked in the past is quite freaky!! Will see you tomorrow and get that photo in place. Oh Danny is a cheeky happy. He loves company and walks very nicely, occasionally looking up at the human on the other end of the lead. He is delightful. Snogs for him xxxxxxx

As Jo mentioned in her post, I took this adorable boy on a lovely long walk today. He travelled well, although did need some help getting in. He was a pleasure to walk. He loves being out and he wants to go at quite a pace. Luckily for him, so do I. We walked for almost an 1.5 and he didn't slow down! He saw lots of dogs from big to small and was great with all of them. He came nose to nose with a couple and greeted them politely. I think he is ultimately more interested in being on the move. I'm told that he is quite noisy in the kennels but I didn't hear a peep out of him either on the walk or whilst travelling. He didn't even react to the small dog in the park who told him off just because we happened to be walking past. He will make a super companion for someone who enjoys a good walk. My first time walking Danny today. I think he is a lovely chap. He was easy to lead up even though he was keen to be on the move. Once out of the kennel he was perfect on the lead, not bothered by the traffic noise, happily walking by my side, plus hes tall enough to stroke as he's walking. Xxxxxxx

Took Danny to Brueton Park today, he was a little unsure in the car at first, but did eventually settle. He is quite strong on the lead and needs some manners when out, he will need to be showed the outside world gradually as he found it all too much, he did not know where to look first as there was so much to see. A nice friendly dog but will require some patience and understanding initially.
