Billy is always happy to see you, and literally dives out of his kennel when you open the door! He is a happy chap who is full of energy and bounce. In yesterday's ridiculous heat he was the only one to show any interest in the balls floating in the paddling pool. We couldn't persuade him to actually put his paws into the pool - he just stretched & stretched until he could reach the closest ball!

He is a real sweetie with the cutest ears that fold up on themselves - irresistible. Keeping fingers crossed he soon has his own sofa. xx

Thanks so much to Erik and Charlotte for taking Billy for a trip to the park. He is a very happy boy, who is ready to embrace his retirement with all four paws! Xxx

Well Billy boy, you are an excitable young men. You had the privilege to walk with our Charlotte! During the introduction Charlotte found you a bit rough now and then and you got told off by her. Once you two had met and had a good sniff of one another all was well and off we went to Sutton Park.

Billy, was really not keen on going into the car, I had to entice him with treats. He loves his treat so this might be his go to for training. I had to take it really slowly but eventually you let yourself be picked up and placed in the car. I took it really easy with the driving as you appeared restless in the car. When I was doing 50/60 miles per hour you would lie down but the moment I came to a stand still you would stand-up. On the way back it was a bit better but still not keen.

During the walk you would be pulling but a couple of corrections and he would be pulling less. If he wanted to go somewhere, he would certainly pull strongly in the direction he wanted to go to. Again, a clear NO correction sorted this out. He will learn quickly what you do and don’t want him to do.

He is excited to be out and about. During the whole walk he was alert to everything, sounds and sights. He met a number of other dogs, he be very interested, but not always sure, but on one occasion he displayed the “I want to play posture”. We also had a little fluffy dog barking at you, I was pleased to see you not react to this doggy at all. Billy and Charlotte walked happy together not paying each other to much attention. Billy was very curious about the birds in Blackroot pool. He did surprise me when we were watching birds, people being busy in the pool and after a couple of minutes he went closer to the edge and then jumped in with his front paws. Maybe there is an Olympic swimmer in him ????. He also showed interest in people, he has not bothered about cyclist or people running. At the end of the walk we watched people and children playing. You found this really fascinating, especially the football.

Billy, you are a really nice, excitable young man who would happily join a pack. At the moment you are not a keen traveller, but I am sure over time and with patients this could change. You are also quick learner, the second time going in the car, your face told me, food will not work this time mate, this made me chuckle. I think you will make a great addition to an active household, with older children who will engage and play with you, but also have some patience. You might also enjoy fly ball, agility and maybe a splash in the pond or pool. It be nice to take you for another walk but I prefer to see you go off to your forever home and enjoy your retirement.

Billy came with me to Elmdon Park today. He is such a happy boy. He actually bounced out of his kennel and his tail never stopped wagging. He really loves his walks and is extremely happy to be out exploring. We walked for about an hour and met quite a few other dogs. Whilst he isn't 100% sure when other dogs run past him, he doesn't react badly, but his head does seem to be on a swivel!! He doesn't however bat an eyelid if they walk past him calmly. He is a really sweet lad , who is a pleasure to spend time with. Hopefully he will have his own sofa soon xx

Billy came with me to Elmdon Park today. He is a super lad and walked beautifully. I don't think his tail ever stopped wagging! He wasn't too sure about the first dog we met but wasn't bothered by others. He came nose to nose with a spaniel, had a good sniff of a Staffie (and allowed himself to be sniffed) and totally ignored a Retriever who stood barking at him about a metre away. He wasn't fazed by children or bikes in the park either. It was my pleasure to walk him xx

Billy arrived at Daybreaks this afternoon. He is a very happy lad :)) His ears tend to do their own thing...when I checked on him before leaving tonight they had folded in on each other, he looked like he had a bow on his head! :))
