NatC, Thank you so much for Alfie update, we think about him everyday and wonder what he's doing. My hubby sadly is very ill Alfie was his mate and talked to him all the time for fuss and treats, we are just so happy he has found a new loving family and got a brother Bobby. We would love to see any update photos and videos with his brother Bobby living his new life I'm on fb. We still love him and want what's best for him. XX

Caza, we already love Alfie so much, he is a fabulous boy. He is so much fun. He was talking to us yesterday indeed. Very funny. We will keep very good care of him. Thank you for leaving the very useful notes and the coats. He is getting on well with our older greyhound, Bobby. I am so sorry that you had to return him, I can imagine how traumatic and awful it must be. Alfie will also always be your boy. He is lucky to have two families who have him in their hearts. We would be very happy to keep you informed of how he gets on if you would like. But I understand as well if it would be too painful. Take care.

I am overjoyed with emotion thank you so so much NatC family for rehoming my Alfie he is a gorgeous gorgeous boy and so loving, he will talk to you when he want's fuss (all the time Lol). I trained him myself the do's and don'ts around the house he is a quick learner very good and well behaved boy he is. Please take good care of him he didn't deserve to be returned to kennels again after being in our home for 18 months. Give him a big hug and kisses from his first family and tell him we miss him. No worries about the picture, we are just so happy to have Alfie now officially part of our family. :-) He is indeed a wonderful boy and will be a great companion for Bobby. We felt Bobby was feeling lonely since we lost our beautiful Kitty last June.
Thank you to all of you at Daybreaks, for everything you do. xx

Very sadly, due to a family illness Alfie is back at the kennels. HIs family are heartbroken and hope a new home can be found as soon as possible. He is a very good boy and loves lots of fuss. He also loves going for a walk and will go out whatever the weather! He can be strong on the lead and can sometimes get very excited with other dogs. He is very loving and affectionate. His family say he is a very happy boy. :)) We are very sorry for all concerned. Xxx

Yardy met a lovely young Labrador today, he was absolutely brilliant with her! She was very lively and bouncy. She kept trying to pull his muzzle off because she though it was a toy! They had a race around the sand run together. He didn't care that she was jumping all over him. :)) He was just perfect. Xx It did look very promising he might have found a home but sadly not to be... HOWEVER, he does have a lovely couple who are very, very interested in him and are coming to meet him tomorrow! please keep everything crossed they love him and most importantantly he loves them!! Please, please please somebody give this boy a sofa. He is the most loveable greyhound. He jumps up and down when anyone comes in the gate at Daybreaks to say "Come and look at me" and the minute you give him a bit of fuss he just melts into the most loveable boy you could imagine. I am totally smitten and if my circumstances were different he would be mine.He is a dream in his kennel, loves nothing more than you going and give him a little bit of fuss. He is one big softie and the biggest leaner ever. Hope you find your sofa very soon.

Yardy has been with us for a few weeks now and so far, very sadly no one has offered him a home. :( He is a wonderful, happy soul waiting for someone to love him and give him the chance to love them too. He will brighten up every day and make you smile. :) Xxx He does need a little help understanding the big wide world but he is a smart lad and in the right home will soon learn the right way to do things. Xxx
He is very good looking too! I have a soft spot for the white and black lads and lasses...Xxx Hoping his dreams will soon come true. Xxx

Yardy, today you and I had another outing. I decided to take you to Kingsbury Water Park as it is a bit busier there and I could see how you faired in that park. I will not repeat myself when it comes to the good curious traveller you are or that you are a strong boy who is excitable.

Today, we did a longer walk then last time, it was about an hour. What I noticed during the walk is that initially you pull strongly, because you are excited. The longer in the walk you start to pull less. If you want to go somewhere you will try and get there. Your attention gets drawn by small white triggers in the distance. Very similar to our Charlotte who would get excited about a white plastic bag in the distance but when she got there it would, almost, be a disappointment for her.

We met lots of cyclists, children on different types of bicycle’s and tricycles. We met several families, young and old. Nothing really fazed you. You took it all in your stride. We even saw and heard a jet ski doing its stuff, a bit noisy but again it did not bother you. I noticed when we were standing still you like to lean.

Yardy thanks for the walk today. I am disappointed that you are still in the kennel I really believed you would be out of there very quickly. Specially as you are such a handsome and loving boy. I hope you will find your forever home soon.

A cuddle for Yardy tonight. I can't believe he is still waiting for his forever home. He is a very happy, friendly lad. He is exuberant when he is out and about but is a very quiet boy in his kennel and very clean! You can't help but smile when you meet him. :)) Xxx

Well Yardy, we had an adventure today. I will be honest, I met you last week and you are an excitable and lively young lad. Hence, I have been surprised that you are still in the kennel. When I came to collect you from your kennel you greeted me with the enthusiasm, I know you to have. I was amused when we got to the car and you wanted to jump in.

You are a good and a curious traveller, you were initially standing and looking out of the rear window being quite fascinated by what you were seeing. On the motorway, you lay down and relaxed, which I would do to if I could as the motorway is quite boring. When we stopped you would look out of the rear window, have a sniff and lay down again once we got going.

When we arrived at Sutton Park, you were very keen and could not wait to get out. The moment I opened the back you jumped out tail up ready to go on an adventure. You are one of the strongest boys I have walked so far. Your inquisitive nature never wavered, sounds, smells and sights are all fascinating to you. Because you are excited, you sometimes weave from left to right and back. Throughout the walk you were pulling, and it did not really stop even with corrections.

On this occasion the most useful method was to stop and relax, to the point he would lean against me and then go again. This seemed to work he would still pull but less so. You met lots of children, toddlers, adults which did not bother you. The same for cyclists you were curious but no desire to chase. Dogs are very fascinating to you, however, when we got close to them you were less interested. I have the impression that you find fluffy creatures in the distance interesting but when you get their it is like, ohh ok. When we relaxed on a bench you were tracking a white Westy and then went from 0 to 40 miles per hour in a few seconds. I was able to control it but observed you really wanted to chase this fluffy creature in the distance. You seem to have a strong prey drive.

When we returned to the kennel, I was fascinated that you were very relaxed, you almost did not pull. This suggests to me that you get excited by new environments. You are almost like a child in a toy store who does not know where or what to look at first. Shall I go here or there or maybe I can do it all at once. When taken out of the toy shop, they are themselves again, this is what you appear to be like, when you return to familiar surroundings you are yourself again.

Yardy, you are a beautiful boy who is strong and excitable but can also be very relaxed and in need of cuddles. To do YOU justice, YOU will need a family who are willing to play games with you, maybe agility or flyball or simply be entertained at home. You will need a clear consistent leadership from all your new family member(s). You will need training with positive reinforcement, and you will make a family incredibly happy and you be very happy. Thank you for the exercise today, I enjoyed the walk and cuddles we had today. I really hope you will find your forever family soon or maybe I should say that they will find YOU soon ????

I took Yardy for a walk along the lane yesterday morning before it got too hot! It was his first walk since he arrived at the kennels. He was very keen to see everything and was particularly interested in the workmen and what they were doing! :)) He was very strong on the lead but sure he will calm down. In his kennel he is so very happy to meet everyone and gives your hands a real good wash!! A super lad who I'm sure when he goes off to his forever home will grab his new life with all four paws!! :)) Xxx
