Joey didn't race, he was not interested in chasing the mechanical lure!! He is, however, excitable by cats.

Joey walks well on his lead and is good with other breeds of dog small and large.

Monty (Joey) has had 0 cuddles today (19 all together).

The very gorgeous Joey has gone out to a foster home, fingers crossed all goes well, if so he may well have a home to call his own. Thanks so very much to his foster family for taking him on, they have experience of looking after a grey with his condition so have all the knowledge needed to take care of him. xxx

Lovely Joey is still waiting for someone very special to offer him a home with them. He does have health issues but as Ruth said in an earlier post his medication would be supported by Daybreaks. If you are interested in meeting him or would like more information please call the kennels for a chat. Xxx

Joey joined me to Elmdon Park today. He travelled well in the car and settled in the boot.
He was a joy to walk, we passed lots of different dogs of all sizes and he behaved impeccably!
He loved being out of the kennels, lots of different sights and smells.

I would for him to find his forever home, If I was in a different position he would be home with me! X

Joey joined me for some playtime in the sand run today. He loves to play, and delights in chasing after a toy you throw, then brings it back to you so you can throw it again. He is on a special diet due to his kidney problems and he really enjoys it, relishing every bit. His health issues certainly aren’t stopping him enjoying life - and he would love to be out in his forever home to carry on playing and having fun. Cuddles for him tonight. Xxx

We are appealing for a special long term foster home for this boy. He is a lovely loyal boy who would suit being an only dog or ok with a submissive dog. He walks nicely on the lead. He sleeps through the night and is doing well with house training but because he is drinking more than average he needs more opportunities for going out. He travels well and is inquisitive!

Blood tests have unfortunately shown kidney problems so he will be on long term medication which Daybreaks will cover.

If you think you could help please give me a call. 0121 782 7702.

Hi loveheart! We have had a labrador purely because of mia been so young and we were due to see 'diesel' just before we lost my beautiful boy in the hope it may give jet a new lease of life, but he sadly passed away before diesel was old enough to come.
We are due our second baby in April so want to get that here safe and sound god willing, but my heart aches (and always will do) for jet and I know I desperately need another grey to help me grieve properly. Greys are definitely 'my breed!' We have discussed that we think diesel needs a friend as adores other dogs so the answer is yes, I really do want another grey in a few months when new baby is here etc and I have time to concentrate. I've had my head turned a few times recently by a few of the black boys (Mikey mainly as I think his personality would suit our active life perfectly) but like I say time isn't quite right just yet. There is still not an hour in the day that goes by without me thinking of my boy and still feel so cheated at his early passing but I ask him every night to guide me and I believe he will send me the right grey when it's the right time.
He sent us another pony over Christmas...don't ask lol! Xxx

Jet lucy I was wondering if you have met another soulmate yet like your beloved Jet. There are so many lovely black boys coming to the kennels. I know from experience like so many of the dedicated Grey owners that it sometimes takes a long time to even think about giving a forever home to another hound and I tried to hold out after we lost our sweet girl Nina, but Steve (Warrior) looked so sad on his bed and he seemed to be indifferent to Fat neck Fin (all the girlies had growled at him lol) that we decided to foster him, and then soon became FFPs. Finn is very tolerant of Steve and they now lie head to head in their beds like old mates. We still love and miss our girl, but I know she is waiting on the other side of Rainbow Bridge along with our other 4 girls and boys sure she will be trying to be first out of the traps. lol, what a race that will be !!! They are never far from our thoughts.xxx

Taking our foster Joey (left) on his last countryside walk at Baddesley Clinton, with Bobby. It's our last week with Joey as we're sadly taking him back to Daybreaks on the 5 Feb. Joey is a lovely big boy. He's really settled into our home and bonded well with Bobby. He's very inquisitive, is into everything, and follows us everywhere, even the toilet (probably just separation anxiety).
As we are both still working full time and have two young children, we simply don't have the time to give this young (3 in Feb) and active dog, the care and attention he needs and deserves. But he'll leave a Joey shaped space in our hearts. Joey would suit a home either with or without another dog. He's got a lot of love to give and we hope he finds his forever home soon.

Our foster boy, Joey, was neutered yesterday, poor boy. He felt sorry for himself yesterday when he came back. But he is much better today.
He has been “helping” with the housework. Joey in the way when cleaning? Joey in the way when putting the food shopping away? Of course not!! ????
He is not bothered with noise, he has now heard what a vacuum cleaner or a hairdryer sound like and he is perfectly fine with any noise.
He has also understood who sofas were created for. ????
In just a week, this lovely boy has settled down so well! He just needs to find his forever home.

We started fostering Joey today. He is our first foster dog and we are his first home. A big adventure for all of us. We went to our local park. Joey was pulling a bit at the start but it got better through the walk. He is very inquisitive when he sees other dogs, but does not show any aggression at all, only interest. He is a lovely boy. He obviously has to learn life in a home, but he seems to be a quick learner. He had to go up the stairs, of course, but the problem was going downstairs. Twice he had to be carried downstairs by foster Dad. Even the promise of a cocktail sausage was not enough for Joey to brave the stairs. Third time, we thought we would leave him up there, and after a few minutes he did it!! We were very proud of him. He comes to us very easily for cuddles, he is very affectionate. Let’s see what more adventures tomorrow brings.
