ROBBIE HAS LEFT THE BUILDING! Ok.... don't get too excited - he has only gone out on foster but this is to assess all aspects of his behaviour which seem to have improved massively since his return at the beginning of the year when he pulled his owner over when a dog off the lead ran by him.

He has gone with my dear friends Maggie and Paul who are looking after Roman. Robbie had a play in the sand run with Roman and even gave kisses to Roman through his muzzle once they were both in the back of the car. In the sand run, they both chased after a toy and played really well. Let's hope he finds his forever home soon and I will keep you posted with updates.

Happy birthday to the most handsome, loving Robbie. Why he has not yet got his own sofa is a mystery. He has improved so much on being calm on his walks and likes nothing better than a good cuddle when he gets back to the kennels. Everything crossed that his forever sofa is just around the corner. Big birthday wishes to the gorgeous Robbie. Hope you’ve had a great day, despite the weather!

Everyone that knows and works with this beauty is at a loss to understand why he is still waiting for his forever home. Ok, he needs that little bit of extra help, but he would return that tenfold with his love and loyalty.

Gorgeous gorgeous Robbie....... why have you not been offered your forever home yet?
He is loving, clever, clean and handsome.
What does he need? A quiet home with no children and a confident handler as he can sometimes get excited and has in the past pulled his owner over.
I can open his kennel door and he will run to the outdoor pen for feeding and then will take himself back when we are ready.
He retired with a broken leg but it has fully healed and he loves nothing more than to have a 'blast' in our sand run.
He does the 'paw for more' when fussing him. He is truly gorgeous and he gets my virtual cuddle as well as a real one today.

A big cuddle for our Robbie today. Happy 5th Birthday! Oh how I wish he could find his special home. He is a fabulous boy, who just needs someone who is willing to help him with his socialisation skills. As Shanesmum says, he is very clever and loves to play games. He is fun, happy and very affectionate. Lots of love to you Robbie, have a lovely day. Xxx xxx

I will confess that Mr Robbie breaks my heart. He has been with us for so long, and all he wants is a home of his own where he can play games and chill. Yes, he is not the best with other breeds, but he is such a clever boy that with ongoing training this can be worked on ( I speak from experience as Minnie was terribly reactive and very challenging to walk, but is learning fast and improving weekly).

They are just so worth the time and patience to help them into the world outside of racing. Xxx

Took Robbie out for a walk to Brueton Park yesterday and he had a lovely time. He travelled well in the car and easily settled. The park was quiet so we didn't come across too many dogs or people on our walk but Robbie was extremely well behaved. When it started to rain we sought refuge in the park cafe and were joined by 5 other dogs. Although interested, he didn't bark and was quite happy to sit and watch what they were doing. When the rain stopped we went back to the car and he walked on a loose lead next to a Collie whilst we chatted to the owner. He was a pleasure to take out and we look forward to taking him out again soon xx

Once again, at present Robbie is our only boy left at the kennels who is still waiting for his forever home. :(
He is a super friendly lad who needs someone willing to work with him and help him learn how to enjoy going out and about without getting too excited. He is a fast learner and with the right family will be a lovely boy to have around. Xxx

Robbie has had a slow start with the enrichment program as he was not allowed to be of the lead or do basic training. I have worked with him on doing short snuffle walks, and working on “this way” and “stop” instructions. We also worked on the “touch” game which he does well and he is learning the scavenging game.

Since we had the all-clear from the vet I managed to do some walks in the local park to expose him to different breeds. With me, he is now very interested but less reactive. I have started “sit”, “down” and “stand” and he is making good progress. His mood has improved. Robbie is funny, he may decide to work or he may not. He likes treats but it is not his main motivator.

Robbie is a lovely boy he will swing between excitable and calm, he clearly has his own mind.

Robbie is a handsome boy. I think he will need somebody firm but kind. He responds well when getting leaded up or having his lead taken of. He walks really well, though I think he prefers short walks. Big cuddles for him tonight. Xxx

When Declan and I got Robbie out for a bedtime wee this evenig he came out wearing his checked fleece like a kilt! He did look very cute! He went back in better fitting attire and as usual was very grateful and enthusiastic to receive a couple of biscuits after playing the touch game. He is a very clever boy. :) Xxx

The gorgeous Robbie just sits and waits patiently in his kennel hoping to be picked. He is one of our longest stayers.....
When he went out on foster over Christmas, he was absolutely perfect with his behaviour - totally clean, great with children, quiet and can be left.

I just don't get why he is continually overlooked. It is heartbreaking.

He does get excited with other dogs that are off lead (as most dogs do) but with some socialisation training, you would not get a more perfect dog.....

Unfortunately Robbie is back with us..... a small dog that was off the lead ran up to Robbie whilst he was on his walk and pulled his owner over. She has fractured wrist and is out of action for a good while. Ruth using Kate's login!!!
If there is anyone in the Wilnecote area of Tamworth who would be willing to help out with walking, this would mean he could stay at home. If you think you can help please call us as he is very sad to be back. He has been perfect in his new home which he had waiting so long for so we are desperate for help for him and his owner.

Robbie has been with me for 3 weeks now and I am amazed at how well he has settled in. He haas had no toileting issues, and loves nothing more than curling up on HIS chair. I absolutely adore him. I am working on his tendency to jump like a loon if we get to close to another dog.

Unfortunately the family with their playful whippet Stanley who came to hopefully foster Robbie, went away without him. Stanley told Robbie off and poor Robbie just stood there looking very upset and then actually headed back to his own kennel and got on his bed!

I moved onwards to the second offer of a foster home for him and I have just 'delivered' the gorgeous Robbie to his foster home to stay for a few days over Christmas.

He settled down straight away after having a wee in the garden and then lay with his toys on his bed and promptly fell asleep! (I have added a few photos of him in his foster home. If you are interested in offering this lovely boy a home, please get in touch! x
