Just to update, we picked Pearl up 10 days ago and within 24hours she had made herself right at home! Snuggling on the sofa, roaching in her bed, and chattering whilst having lots of fuss. She loves her food & going for walks, not a fan of cats, I can’t believe how quickly she settled in and how friendly and welcoming she is if anyone visits. Pearl had bloods done for her recent kidney injury and the results showed her kidney function is still improving which is good, she’s due to go back in 4weeks for repeat bloods, BP check and to take a wee sample (that should be fun!) thank you Daybreaks, Ruth & Willows vets for caring this lovely bundle of joy x

It’s taken me a while to post about Pearl as she has been very poorly following her spey since I picked her up from the vets last Monday.
She stayed at mine overnight but the following morning she was panting a lot, had bright red gums and her legs kept cramping and going into spasm that she couldn’t stand.
She was very dehydrated and therefore admitted and put straight on a drip. Blood tests revealed an acute kidney trauma. I transferred her to Willows where she was admitted straight to intensive care.
Her creatinine levels have been erratic but she is slowly improving but is no longer in intensive care and remains stable at Willows.
As you can imagine, our invoice at willows is now over £5,000 but she is worth every penny and thanks to all our supporters we are able to fund this.
As a Trust it has now been agreed that every dog going in for full anaesthetic will have pre op bloods - this is something we normally just do for those over 7 years old.
