Herbie

male, 7 years old, Black

Added by Shanesmum

Updated: Monday 01 Jan

Herbie is now under the care of Daybreaks Trust. I collected Herbie yesterday from his heartbroken owner and he is staying at mine until he puts on weight and has repeat blood tests following his illness over Christmas.

Herbie was homed from a local Greyhound Trust branch and Nicola was told that they could not take him back as he was on medication! Following discussions with GT Head office and the local GT branch, I agreed we would take him. He is in safe hands and is absolutely gorgeous.

Herbie has had 0 cuddles today (23 all together).
If you register or login, you can give him a cuddle too!

True to form Frankie1 has taken the fab Herbie home and given him the GREEN BANNER. This guy needed the care and now has a fantastic home.! Really chuffed for this fella. Well done to the team at Daybreaks, Ruth and Frankie1 for giving him the care and home he needs and wants.

The lovely gentle Herbie is doing so well and is back with me for a while as we took him away in our motorhome last weekend to join the CACWGAS group (camping and caravaning with greyhounds and sighthounds) where he had a fabulous time and greatly admired by many but sadly not offered a home.

He loves laying in the office and I have just added a photo of him with Momma...... unfortunately I am not in a position to adopt as much as I love him but he will make a perfect addition to a family who already have a dog. House trained, sleeps downstairs at night, can be left and very good with other breeds.

Herbie update! Herbie is doing so well! He is enjoying life, gaining weight and coming to visit later.... can't wait to see him! x I have added some photos of him - all we need to do is find him a forever home! If you are interested in him, he would thrive living with another dog(s) and I would not consider homing him on his own.

Regarding medication, we started him on Cobalaplex (which you can buy from Amazon) and it has made a tremendous difference. He is on no other medication and is doing so well.

Herbie has captured my heart, he looks so sad in his photo. Will he be on medication for the rest of his life? X

The gorgeous Herbie is an absolute pleasure to look after.
I took him to Fivelands vets yesterday for fasting blood tests to find out the reason for his loss of weight as blood tests on Friday show that he is no longer anaemic (diagnosed by the vets in December). We hope to have the results in a couple of days.

@Malteser

Yes your correct. The website doesn't recognise emojis unfortunately. I had the same issue. My advice... no emojis lol.

I was wondering why I have question marks after my comment. Realised it must be the emoji's I tried to add. Hope you're feeling a little better today Herbie. Big hugs. XX
