What an incredible year!! What a very quick year it has been. Heathmill Emer was a superstar... Penny is still a superstar!!

We absolutely love this girl to bits. The way she sleeps on her bed (or on ours sometimes! Cheeky...) the way she is so kind to us, excitedly running round when one of us comes home now matter how long we have been out for, waits calmy for treats and softly takes them from our hands, she jumps up and wraps her paws round our necks for hugs and likes to be carried like that too sometimes!! The list goes on and on....

We all have no idea what our life would be without her, or without Daybreaks in our lives, we truly mean that!!

MEGA HAPPY GOTCHA DAY PENNY - Lots of love always mom, dad, Chloe, Leighanne & Cash!! xxxxx

Little late on this comment.

We took Penny on her first long (ish) distance trip in the car yesterday. We decided to have a day trip to the beach in Weston-Super-Mare.

Weather was typical British... windy, windy and cloudy!

Penny was really good in the car, we were nervous (for her) more than she was. She travelled really well. Stopped a couple of times to stretch her legs.

We got there and she was straight out of the car like the starting line of a race! When she got on the beach... that was another story! She was flying around loving every single minute of it. She had her jumper on, harness, lead and was not bothered about the wind at all. Us on the other hand were wrapped up loads!!

We had a good walk round for a while, even remanised in a spot where we had lunch with Cash which brought back memories that we cherish! Miss her everyday.

Whilst walking round she had a Daybreaks bib on and we had people coming up to us asking about her, the breed and the charity. We even met someone with 2 greyhounds and she said she had her first greyhound from Daybreaks back in 2007... from Ruth of all people!! We had a good chat about how grey DB are too of course!!

The journey back was no different to the journey there. All perfectly fine. Got home and she had dinner and was flat out for the count!

Can't wait for more adventures with that girl...

Well I knew greyhounds liked water... Penny hasn't like water in the heat over the past few weeks until TODAY... please see my YouTube video for more details rather than me explaining it. https://youtube.com/shorts/F6G0lcq_kKc?feature=share3

Rob, so sorry to hear Penny had a trip to vets this week. :( None of mine are keen on vet trips either! Hope she will soon feel better. Xxx

What a lovely update on how she is settling in with you and your family. It's obvious how much you all adore her. She is a very lucky girl! :))) Xxx

Little update on Penny. Just over 9 and 1/2 weeks since her gotchya day.

It has been a magical experience. The love she shows to all the family is cute. Her enjoyment of bouncing round is crazy but fun. Safe to say she doesn't like the vets much...

Unfortunately she had to go to James Horner Vets yesterday as she fractured her nail 2 days ago. Blood everywhere which we managed for a day but she then caught it again and the blood was even worse. Vets were great and clipped her nail (Penny HATED that along with the clotting agent for the bleeding) She is now on medication for pain relief and antibiotics for any infection. But overall she was a massive superstar with her visit.

She is now a good ol' 33kg from 29kg when we first had her.

I can't fault or regret having this little girl, she is just so good! And I'm super proud of my family for making the decision to give her a new home too.

Toys - in the living room, bedroom and garden!

I've got to put this out there... just been out for a walk with Penny and its been the best one yet!! She has always been good on lead and walks anyway but today she saw a puppy husky, no older than 5 months old, she didn't want to run after it just high ears and tail going like the clappers standing still. Then when we almost got home saw a bunch of small children with their dad's running, she wanted to run towards them but stopped herself. When we met up with them she was all of the children and so happy about it and very well behaved showing her love. This was her first real time around a larger group of young children. We are so proud of her.

It feels like yesterday when we picked Penny up but its been a touch over 2 weeks already!! Time flies when your having fun...

She has been fabulous. Absolutely stunning. Very well behaved. Learnt when told no. Loves to whine when we one of us goes to work but then greets us with massive cuddles when we come home.

Loves to bounce around on our bed and bedroom floor. Then loves to lie chilled out on the sofa watching TV.

She has just been phenomenal. Such a great addition to our family.

So grateful to Daybreaks and everything they do!! I am looking forward to working more with them and to the future with Penny

This amazing little munchkin absolutely smashed it last night. She was very curious of her new surroundings and got to know where home is, all being happy waggy tailed. She listens to the new name Penny. Loved exploring the long garden. Played straight away with toys that were new and from our previous dog which haven't left our garden since. Eaten her dinner as expected. Sits and lies down beautifully on her beds, and loves to jump up on ours! Stairs were an issue at first so it was planned for me to sleep downstairs with her the first night but out the blue she flew upstairs, and straight down this morning when we woke up. We love this girl to bits and we are so happy we have her. I never really understood how I would feel but it truly is amazing and I cannot thank the team at the kennels enough. So on second note, massive thank you to everyone there. Staff, volunteers and all those that help do what they do!! What the space on my YouTube channel for plenty more videos of Penny. https://youtube.com/@RobDaybreaks

Emer, now called Penny went off to her new home today. :))
Despite only being with us a few days it was lovely to see how quickly she settled at the kennels...from being a very quiet girl to a bouncy, happy little soul who clearly has a mischievous character. :)) Sure this will emerge in her new home! Wishing her and her family lots of great times together. :))) Xxx
