Well done boy!!! It was lovely to have gentle cuddles with you today. I prayed for something nice to happen today as it would have been Daddy Melly's 16th & Teddy's 14th birthdays. You are much shyer than my Teddy was but hopefully your new mum Lisa will see you flourish slowly. At least all the attention will be on you and by the time you get to go on holibobbles next summer with your aunt's little dog you will be a confident and happy chappy. I told you everything would be alright & you would get your turn....everything comes to those who wait patiently. Many congratulations to Lisa & Duke. Dukey is gaining confidence every day. When we arrived this morning he greeted us with a waggy tail! Xxx
He loves to bury his head on your lap and has the most beautiful eyes.
With extra grooming his coat is beginning to shine. He is a very handsome lad. Xxx

Oh Duke, I have thought about you a lot since your arrival & talked to Auntie Ruth yesterday about giving you a break from kennel life for a while. Sadly, she explained why you would be much better as an only child. I really hope that a nice mature person or couple will come into your life soon whether that is for fostering or adoption as you really need a loving environment outside of the kennels where all the attention can be on you and building your confidence. I shall hopefully come and visit you soon lovely boy. Keep your chin up...your turn will come. Sometimes, the shyest and nervous boys.....like my Teddy .....make the most loyal and rewarding companions. Xxx

I took Dukey to Elmdon Park today. This very shy nervous lad is often somewhat reluctant to leave the security of his kennel. However once persuaded out of his comfort zone and lifted into the car he settled and travelled well to the park. He enjoyed the experience although still showing signs of uncertainty.
He met other breeds without any problems.
Dukey is a quiet nervous lad who I would think would prefer a quiet rather than boisterous home to enjoy his retirement

Dukey is very nervous at the moment, it's a big change in his life coming to Daybreaks. He did enjoy his walk this morning although a little scared of the traffic on the Coventry Road. He also enjoyed his meals which is great. :)) Sure he will soon settle and get used to us all. :)) Xxx

Absolutely gorgeous. Don't be frightened. Ruth, the staff and volunteers will look after you. My Sam had only just turned 2 when I adopted him. My Sam didn't race. I see you've done 5 so you had a go but maybe decided it wasn't for you and that you just want to find your forever sofa. Good luck. I don't think it'll be long. x
