So sorry to read this Ruth. The greatest gift we give our hounds is letting them go to be free forever. Thinking of Foxy and all who loved him tonight. Xx
Friday 10 Aug 17:56
Ruth we are devastated for you, foxy was one in a million and brought so much laughter with his antics, everyone loved him, he will never be forgotten, bless him xxx
Friday 10 Aug 09:07
Ruth and Andy, No words can say how sad we are, but Foxy heard the words "treats" on the other side of "The Bridge" and you had to let him go. Forever in your hearts, God Bless and sweet dreams old boy. Go pinch those treats !!! xxxxxxxx
Thursday 09 Aug 23:04
Such very sad news, Foxy was a special boy. He was a "grown up" when I really got to know him; but he was always doing something he shouldn't and Ruth would come into the kennels some mornings exasperated with his latest antic! Eating lots of mince pies and weeing on the bed spring to mind...I lost count of the times she said she was going to put him up for adoption! :) However we all knew she adored him and he loved his Mommy! I will miss seeing him sauntering around the kennels checking out what's going on, but I'm sure he will be with us in spirit along with Joseph. God Bless his cheeky new Angel, lots of love to Ruth and Andy. Xxxxxx
Thursday 09 Aug 22:23

Foxy had been doing really well since his epidural nearly 2 weeks ago but at his review today he has lost over 2.5kg and he has started panting a lot again - I can tell he is not so happy - especially as he has been refusing some treats and his favourite food. Blood tests have been done today and we will have the results tomorrow to see what more we can do.

My poor fella is not doing well. He has been getting increasingly lame and crying out when moving. His pain relief has been increased gradually over the last few weeks and yesterday he had a trial of acupuncture to hopefully help. He is a sad little fella and the house is very quiet but anything worth stealing in the food department is safe!

Aggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh! :-( After never bothering with our ducks over the last 4 years, Foxy thought it would be fun to chase them today teaching Coilean all the wrong things and she joined in the fun....... luckily she was muzzled but as Foxy wasn't, Hilton one of our ducks was not so lucky. He was shaken but still alive and Foxy is now crying out every time he moves as he must have tweaked his back..... out come the Tramadol again..... grrrrrrrrrr - it just proves you can't be too careful.
Thursday 10 Dec 21:36

Tuesday 03 Nov 21:31
I think it was but far too short a clip. Oh Mr Foxy Up Ups, you should have been on for longer, but at least they got to the bottom of your problem, much more important than being a super star I think. Luv to you and the rest of the Boswells clan. Xxxxxxx

Sunday 01 Nov 22:05
Hope we do get to see Foxy on TV....great to see him looking much so much better last week when he came to the kennels. Xxx
Sunday 01 Nov 13:43
What a shame Foxy might not be a super star. Do hope yhey dhow a bit of him afrer all the lovely fella has been through. Thank goodness he got the right prognosis and treatment (finally). So ooh pleased he has now been discharged and is hopefully after his op totally pain free and back to the normal Mr Foxy Up Ups, and hopefully back to his old antics. Xxxxx
Sunday 01 Nov 10:04
We had a film crew at our house for a couple of days filming Foxy for a programme 'Pets who hate Vets'. He was a perfect candidate as the poor fella has been through a lot in his life and understandably the vets is somewhere he rather wouldn't be!
As part of the programme, another vet and behaviourist were brought in to assess Foxy and it was deemed that his problem wasn't behavioural (as suggested by Willows following his MRI last year) but he was in pain (as I thought!!!!). He was therefore referred to Dovecoat Veterinary Hospital where he underwent surgery and he has just been discharge having healed well.
As his problem was not behavioural, he won't be used in the programme (although I have been told there may be a bit), you can see for yourself - the programme is on Channel 5 on Tuesday 3rd November at 8pm.
Friday 09 Oct 11:01
So glad Foxy is home and doing well. What a super brave boy he is. Dave has also had his op and has a 4 inch stapled wound but apparantly I can't keep him in a crate! Not sure he is feeling as bouncy as Foxy though. Hope to be back doing walks at Daybreaks as soon as possible. Hugs for the lovely Foxy. xx
Friday 09 Oct 07:35
Uppy update! I collected Foxy on Monday evening following his back surgery and he went crazy when he came into the waiting room - something he is not allowed to do!!!! He has a stapled wound of around 4 inches long on his back and he has to have crate rest for 4 weeks. He is a rubber ball as he bounces back every time - I LOVE my little fella - can't wait for the day you can run around the park again - not long now - best get some more chicken and ham treats for him!
Monday 05 Oct 15:06

Tuesday 22 Sep 08:38
I took Foxy to see a Professor in Neurology yesterday at Dovecoat Veterinary Hospital in Castle Donnington. Most of you will know that he has been having ongoing problems since last July with pain and chewing himself and despite skin scrapes, x-rays, MRI, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, canine massage and a multitude of medications with visits to Willows and West Midlands Referrals Centre in Lichfield these were to no avail.
The repeat MRI revealed he does indeed have a problem with the sciatic nerve and discs in his lower back and he is undergoing back surgery to remove a piece of bone in a section of his spine on the 2nd October to hopefully resolve the problem.
He is extremely miserable after yesterday added to the fact that he is still missing Maggie incredibly..... my heart is breaking for our little fella....
Friday 24 Jul 14:53

Wednesday 27 May 07:52
After being operated on, on 21st May, Foxy is healing well. We are just waiting for the histology from the large area debrided from his side. The fat layers were yellow and pitted (instead of being white) with a hole going into the muscle. At his post op check on Friday it was noticed that he had another patch developing on his neck. He was therefore started on steroids and so far the patch has not enlarged. He had blood tests yesterday to check his kidneys to rule out Alabama Rot also!! My little patchwork fella is bright, happy, eating and a brave boy. Thanks for all your kind words about him x

Thursday 21 May 11:21
I'm beside myself with worry.... Foxy started chewing himself again on Sunday evening, seen at vets Monday, skin scrape, swabs etc done and started on antibiotics. Each day it has got horribly worse so today he is being operated on.
It has been going on since July last year. He has had skin tests, x-rays, steroids, antibiotics, pain relief etc - had hydrotherapy, MRI and specialist referral at Willows and there seems to be no reason. We tried changing his food - no difference.... Tried Neem, turmeric, acupuncture, canine massage etc etc..... at a loss.... :-(

I am lost without him and I can't wait to fetch him! x

Happy Anniversary Ruth and Rob....how romantic running through puddles and mud! Well done to you all for getting to 10k. I am sure Foxy was just thinking of you when he ate the cake, he obviously thought as you are in training you shouldn't be indulging in things such as cake! Xxx
Tuesday 03 Jun 21:34
We have just got back from training for the Wolf Run..... YAY we completed 10k tonight! I had to jump straight in the shower as we have been running through the mud and the streams etc over Elmdon Park. I came down and thought I would have an anniversary treat (Robbie and I have been married 19 years today) by having a slice of the delicious belated Birthday cake given to me today by Diane one of our volunteers.... erm and guess what..... the look of Mr Foxy said it all..... even though it was on top of the microwave, pushed to the back and wrapped in tin foil it was easy pickings for the pointy eared monster..... grrrrrr.... thank goodness he can't open the fridge and drink my wine!!!!!!!!! Good job I love him! :-)

Saturday 04 Sep 21:01
Ruth I don't see that Foxy having ears that are too pointy a justified reason for returning him, our Izzy ,Dylan , Cara, and Vinnie look too much like Greyhounds for my liking!!!
You never warned us about this! I feel we where mislead LOL Jenny and Mark X
Friday 03 Sep 20:17
One of mine has just wee'd on the mat in the front room. As I cannot determine who it is I think I will return Foxy as his ears are too pointy, Maggie as she has too much white with her black, Basil as he leans too much, Shrew as she is a bit old and grey, Joe with his lumpy throat and Wispa because she is too perfect. Wouldn't life be quiet..... and very boring. Forget it! My family are staying - good times with bad!
Friday 16 Apr 14:28
Hi Ruth, I loved your April Fool joke! He may be naughty but Foxy is so beauftiful, I am sure you can forgive him anything! I am a little behind the times as I have had to take some time off work due to a gammy leg and our computer at home has seen better days. Great news Cracker has at last found a lovely home and Max is staying with his foster parents, he is a lucky boy. I just need to hear Geezer has a new home too and I will be very happy! I am back at work now and missing Twiggy terribly, it was so lovely being at home with her, she is a brilliant nurse! Despite the problem with my leg, walking was one of the things I could do, so we had a great time! Love to all at Daybreaks. Kate xx

I think he's in the best place! It did take me a while to realise what you'd done, I kept thinking "That looks like Ruth's Foxy...it can't be...she wouldn't...but it is Foxy..." Then I realised what the date was, very funny! They do drive us mad sometimes but they add so much too! Have a lovely Easter x
Thursday 01 Apr 23:00
I'm so disappointed that no one came forward!!!!! Gosh, was it the 1st April today?! He drives me to the edge with his behaviour some days but he is stopping here (I wouldn't be without him for the world) and we do really love him to bits (and in little pieces some days!)
Thursday 01 Apr 17:48
Well done Foxy, I am sure your new! owners will shower you with love and treats and let you get away with murder!!!
Thursday 01 Apr 14:20
Well done Foxy for being in a lovely home and living with someone who understands your quirks! ;0)

Can I bring Charlie to the Trust today as well please? In his younger years he ate through 2 carpets, 2 lino's, 1 dining set, 1 door frame...he had so much energy he used to pace constantly, no matter how many walks he went on. He is so insecure that he follows me everywhere and gets anxious if he can't see me. He used to submissively wee on my feet every day after work and jump up and down like Tigger to any visitor who came. He has a skin condition, constant ear infections and obssesively nibbles himself raw. Now he's old he forgets to go to the toilet in the garden sometimes and then remembers when he's in the house...then it's too late! He's also deaf, a bit blind and on medication for a stroke he had last year, oh, and he sheds...lots...all the time!
He also has good qualities, now he's old he's decided that he needs to protect us from everyone, even my husband. He sleeps alot, which is good because he's deaf I can sneak off to the toilet without him following me as he doesn't know I've gone!
That's about it. Does anyone know what the date is today? Just wondering...?!?!
Thursday 01 Apr 08:14
Oh Ruth how naughty!! What date is it today?
Thursday 01 Apr 07:45
Foxy is arriving at the Trust today as his owner is having trouble coping with him. He unfortunately does wee on the carpets unpredictably and he likes to terrorise other dogs - especially blind ones.
He does have some good qualities - he can help empty the kitchen bin, he can reach into high kitchen cupboards by standing on the worktops for those hard to reach items and will devour anything that is left over. He also is an excellent alarm clock if you need a daily wake up call at around 5am. If he could be maybe fostered until he is approximately 8 years old when he has calmed down a bit, his owner would consider having him back. He bears an uncanny resemblance to a kangaroo also!

Ruth, I am so sorry to hear about Foxy. I always remember saying to you that Keano and I were so much part of each other that I didn’t know where I ended and Keano began. You said that was exactly like you and Foxy. Both of them had so many issues but we loved them so much. Foxy could not have had a better mum and you gave him a wonderful life. Run free Foxy, God has got another beautiful, mischievous angel. I am thinking of you Ruth and sending our love, from Carol and Moe xxxx
