Paul & I were so very sorry to read that you have lost your boy. Mick was - within a couple of days, the same age as our first-born (Lola) and I know I would feel it's too soon to say goodbye, that we haven't had enough time together, so I can only imagine how you all must be feeling. I know also that this has already been said, but the biggest thing of all is that you gave him a happy retirement in a loving home with his greyhound brothers & sisters for company. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have wanted any more than that.

Mick is a big ol' fuss pot. He's spent about an hour today lying on the sofa with his head in my lap. It was wonderful to think that he is settled enough to do that. Wow :)

I'm so pleased there all doin so well. Thankyou 4 givin them all a fantastic lovin home. I was worried about u takin all 3 but I'm not worried anymore I kno all of u will make it work. I cud c wen u rehomed them that u loved them t bits. Gud luck n thankyou. Lol x Sara.

Mick has had a great night, really chilled and comfortable. He has been really loving this morning, wanting loads of cuddles from us, especially Dana he really loves her to bits. So far he's the only one who has laid on the sofa, but only recently. Last night and this morning they have been happy to sleep on their beds. He's back on a bed now. Oh he loves to look at himself in mirror, either standing up on the back of the sofa looking in the wall mirror, or standing on our bed looking in the bedroom one (well he is a handsome fella) :) He is doing really quite well with commands. Well done beautiful boy. There have been no squabbles or growls amongst them, not with dinner, toys or going in the garden, and they've share beds. We definitely did the right thing getting the 3 of them. Love em.

We have been home a few hours. They all spent about hour and half mooching round the house and garden. Mick was a bit scared of coming down the stairs at first but plucked up courage to try it. Bless him. He is being such a good boy and doing as he is told - he's learning quickly, clever boy. Mick and Magic shared a bed for a while but now they are all spark out on seperate beds. They are really quite chilled. We've had lots of waggy tails and kisses. It doesn't get any better than this. My heart is melting, sitting here watching them. I love them so much. Will keep you posted on how they are getting on. A very very happy Neal family

Hi Zippy(TheNeals), I've just realised that it was you and your lovely daughter that we were talking too at the show on Saturday, wasn't Mick almost sitting on her lap?! Lol! We were looking after Mick and we spent ages chin wagging about Greyhounds, how brilliant they are and how great Mick is...and you reserved him...now I can picture Mick with his new family, you are lovely, I really hoped you would get one of these lovely dogs...and you chose Mick, or did he choose you?! I came away from the show feeling a little sad that we hadn't found the gorgeous boy a home and little did I know I'd already spoken to you and his charms had worked! The homecheck all went ok, which means this time tomorrow you will be in your forever home (well I know that you have to be on trial for a week but we are not giving up on any of you. I spent a long time talking to you at the show and on the phone previously and you truly are wonderful, caring people. To take on Magic with her previous history is just wonderful. Her spirit had really become broken recently however I am sure she knows what is round the corner! She will love having Fire as a new brother and hopefully Mick as well. Some people may judge you taking on 3 but I have had 7 and I know you have thought about this sensibly and are comitted to look after all of them til the end of their days. Thank you so much x

You see we wanted to choose you on Sunday after falling in love with you Saturday, but we thought you might not be coming back from your weekend foster home. I think it was fate that you were outside next to Magic and Fire's kennel tonight when I came to visit them. You tugged my heartstrings again. Hi Mick, it's lovely to hear that you've been such a good boy, we knew you would be and we'd have taken you ourselves if you were cat-friendly. Stefan and I are watching the website, waiting for someone to take you home. We have James/Paddy staying with us at the moment and are finding out that you big black boys are gentle and take up less space than people might think, sending hugs, Becky x

I forgot to mention that my husband thinks Mick looks like Patrick Stewart (actor from Star Trek) so if the name "Mick" wasn't for you, he could be "Captain Picard", "Patrick" or just "Pat"...the dog! x

Mick is coming back today, he is just beautiful, he's been the perfect guest. My heart is breaking at having to return him but I know that he'll be found the most fantastic home and needs to be seen at the kennels for that to happen (who could resist those ears?!) He's very special...he: loves cuddles, children, food, walks, being groomed, is calm in the house, is clean in the house, likes playing with toys (squeeks ones are best!), is clever and comes to his name, is responsive to training-knows what "no" means, has the softest fur and cutest ears...I just love him! With training I think he'll be fine with other breeds, he's been great with our spaniel, sharing toys and a bed and even been tollerant of Charlie's kisses! Please someone give this love sponge a home, if I didn't have 3 dogs already, he'd be staying with me, he's a joy to have around, a very special boy.

Mick has asked me to write something for him (he said he'd do it himself but he's watching the children play chess, watching out for any cheating!) "I'm being a good boy at Tash's house, there is so much to see and smell, I'm learning all the time. I love the children, they make my tail really wag and I love it when Robert rubs my ears, I could lean against him for hours! I'm suprised to say that I actually like the spaniel, took me a while to get used to him, really wish he would stop kissing me, but he's ok, Tash said I need to be tolerant of him because he's deaf and can't hear me telling him to stop! I like my food, being brushed, playing with toys, having cuddles, children, sleeping and going for walks is the most exciting thing in the world, SO much to take in and understand, Tash said I'll get used to it and get less skippy, but at the moment it's all just amazing! I've learnt what "no" means and how not to push to get outside, which is where I go to the toilet, Tash is very proud that I've had no accidents in the house, she says I'm very clever and trainable, which sounds nice. I'm determined to get used to other dogs that don't look like me, I tried really hard at the show yesterday and Tash was very pleased with me, she said that I'm fab!" x

Mick stayed at our kennels for a while he is a very loving and affectionate dog and really hope he gets his forever home soon.I will be bringing his mom tomorrow to the dog show who he was kennelled with I wonder if they still recognise each other x x

Mick is visiting us for a few days, he's coming to the dog show with us tomorrow and staying until Sunday (or Monday...I'm working on Tony!) His picture doesn't do him justice, he's beautiful, gorgeous black coat, soft fur, ears that fold down like envelopes and take me home eyes! After the initial excitement of meeting our spaniel, lots of very good sniffs, he's now just chilling out with him and our other 2 Greys. He's very inquisitive, he's investigated every corner of the house and if a cupboard gets opened, he's there to see what's in it! He's a huge love sponge, but not very demanding, he'll come and stand next to you for a hug and has given my nose a gentle lick...oh and he's been great with my 2 children, very gentle and patient. He helped himself to the toy box and loved the squeeky toys, but was happy to let me take them off him. He was also very respectful of our 2 Greys when they were eating, he waited until they had walked away before he did a bowl check! I'm going to take him to the park tomorrow and introduce him to some other non-greys...as you can gather I think he's fab, I hope someone will take this fantastic boy into their lives to love forever as he will them x

Mick is a chilled out boy n loves nothing more that abit of fuss n attention, he will put up with cuddled all day. Very laid back boy. Hope someone shows an interest soon. X
