Connor has settled in very well from day one. He has had his first training session and has also been on the Waseley Hills walk this morning. It is nice for him to meet up with other dogs he remembers from daybreaks who have been lucky enough to find such caring owners. He is great with the grandchildren and it is hard for us to imagine the house without him now.We are just glad we found him.

We met handsome Connor & his new owners at Daybreaks on Sat. He is a very lucky lad with such lovely owners keen to do the right things. I'm sure you'll be very happy together xx

We signed the adoption papers for our lovely big boy Connor todayand couldn't be more pleased.Big thanks to everyone at Daybreaks for invaluable advice, it's good to know you are there to support us if needed and we are amazed at the love and committment shown to the dogs. Connor has flaked out after visiting his friends there, it's a dogs life! Thanks for our special boy - we love him to bits.

I am so pleased for Connor now he has a wonderful new mum and dad.

i collected this handsome boy this morning and had a few tears on the way to the kennels, feeling guilty as i felt i had failed him ( i did his home check) however serendipity struck and a couple came in this afternoon to view the hounds and the lady had seen Connor on the website, he arrived back from his walk shortly after and the rest is hopefully a very happy ending...he is reserved and his home check is being done tonight and if all is well he will be moving in with his new mum and dad tonight. i am thrilled for him and his new parents and hope that he will be the wonderful boy that i know he is. good luck little man, lots and lots of love from your 'auntie Ina' xxxxx

WHEN IS A TRAFFIC JAM ON THE M42 GOOD NEWS?
Was taking Connor to the roadshow in Wychbold but the M42 was at a standstill so took him to Elmdon Park instead and guess what there was a lovely new mummy and daddy waiting at kennels for him when I took him back. hopefully he will be going to his new home this evening.
He is a "leaner" and so affectionate.In the car he nuzzled his head into my neck whilst I was driving along and whilst walking despite a number of distractions of the small and fluffy variety behaved impecably.he likes to lean accross you when walking and I was more in danger of tripping over him than having my arms pulled out of my sockets!

It is brilliant that Connor who only came back today will be with a family so soon afte being returned.FANTASTIC !!
Michelle at Bark Inn will be so pleased as will everyone at Daybreaks.

I totally agree with everyone if you have a dog and love him you dont return him to the kennels because he pulls on the lead. I have 2 at home they are sisters and I would not give them up for anything. connor go and find a lovely home

Before choosing a dog people should really consider if they are ready to commit a 100% to them and not give up at the first hurdle!! If you are the slighest bit unsure then you shouldn't offer a dog a home in the first instance!! It's unfair to take a dog out of kennels, put them into a home, and then return them because you've changed your mind!!! A dog needs time, love, and commitment, and the rewards are endless. I would never consider returning my two lovely grey's, weve worked through issusses they've both had and it's been worth all the hard work. After all none of us are perfect 2 legged or 4!! xxx

Such a shame, he looks beautiful. Our lurcher used to pull but with a little patience and the right harness it was nipped in the bud really quickly. It doesn't seem like a reason to return a dog, such a minor and preventable thing. xxx He gets my cuddle today xxx

That is so sad. Poor Connor. It seems like an excuse to me. Ours are sometimes like zebedee if they see another dog, but we'd never give up on them. They've already had enough of that through their life. Why are they so expendable to some people. :(

Sadly the training sessions were not taken up. A harness was lent only a couple of days ago and advice about diet and training were not followed by his owner. This is something that sometimes needs a bit of time and patience and unfortunately his owner feels she cannot give him this.

Did the training sessions offered for free by the RGT and a harness not help?

What a shame Connor, our Dreamer(all 24kgs of her) used to pull me (a little more than 34kgs) on our walks. We mentioned it to Ruth and she kindly lent us a harness to try-we never looked back. Now both Dreams & Tom are walked with harnesses, and they are both much better in them. It gives us much more control if they do pull, even though as soon as Dreamer started to wear one she stopped pulling.

oh no one of my favourite boys is coming back. this is awful. that issue is easily resolved, how can they give up on him :( xxxxxx

Poor beautiful connor! This is an issue easily resolved :o( my charlie pulled badly at first and now walks lovely... He has even managed to calm floppy down on the lead. So so sad xxx

that is such a shame, is this not an issue that can resolved with a bit of patience and training ?

Connor is being returned on Sunday sadly. The new owners are having issues with him pulling on the lead.

an update on this gorgeous lad. spoke to his mum tonight and she says its like he has always lived there, he sleeps thru the night, clean in the house, eats well, is well behaved and they love him to bits... good news all round. :-) xxxx
