Thank you for all your kind comments regarding Ben. His mum is really upset. She describes him as the best dog she's ever had, he was a dog without any faults who asked for very little. He brought enormous pleasure to all our family and will be really missed.

Hello Jenny! I posted about my visit to Ben in the hope you'd see it. I don't think you need to worry about him, Ben's got a great new home where he's very relaxed and happy. I think everything has worked out just fine for him now, here's to a long and happy retirement for him!

I've just had the pleasure of visiting Ben in his new home with his lovely new Mummy. They both clearly adore each other already. Ben was waiting very patiently for his tea when I arrived, he was soon rewarded with his long awaited bowl and having emptied it, settled down for a lovely comfy snooze, it's a tough life, but someone has to do it! Think you've got it well and truly cracked this time Ben, you're a very lucky lad. Enjoy your new home. See you soon. Love from Ann and Willow

Ben loves company - he was frightened by the storm today but I sat in his kennel with him and Ashley and he settled quickly. He loves curling up on the sofa with all the greys he has been in the run with....

Ben looks so adorabale, that I can't help feeling so sad for him. Is he the sort of doggie that would benefit from a greyhound companion ?

We have had our female greyhound for about 4 months now, but she hates it when I have to go out and leave her alone in the house. I would like our greyhound to meet Ben to see how they get on .

Hi Jenny, Ben is getting lots of attention and has been home with me a few times where he has been a perfect gentleman - so well behaved and not at all stressed. At the kennels he is quiet but that is his nature - a real gentle Ben. We have had quite a few enquires - I am sure he will be picked soon. He is getting extra cuddles from everyone as he is so adorable. Please don't worry about him. We have put him in the big run with Ashley and he loves laying on the sofa in the sunshine! Ruth xx

im sorry for blocking this forum with my incessant comments but it occuredto me that one of the users of this forum may work at the kennels-is it kallie? a question to yourself and ruth-is there anyone particularly interested in ben?? is he getting much attention? i know its strictly not my concern any longer but i am so desperatley concerned for him and cant stop checking on him.Any feedback at all would be much appreciated xxx

I cant reitterate enough how i am willing to answer any questions anyone may have who is thinking about rehoming Ben. Im so glad he is able to get some affection at the kennels as he really deserves it. If it was just us at home Ben would still be here with us but it wasnt fair to seperate ben from the rest of our manic family when he enjoys company so much. It simply was a case that our children were too fast and noisy for ben and it was becoming stressful for him. I can honestly say there was no problems with ben at all in any other area-in fact he put our yorkie to shame with his dignified persona. Please, please, please contact me if you have any questions about him. xx

had a big cuddling session with Ben, he really is a lovely dog and anyone who might be interested in him would probably benefit from getting in touch with Jenny who had him as she will be able to give a better idea how he behaves in everyday situations. my problem is not enough room and having to work full time other wise i'd have an extension to Daybreaks kennels in Derby with lots of permanent residents and Ben would be one of the first to come home with me. x

i know anyone who reads this probably does so with a degree of scepticism but i had to go ahead anyway. Today is no easier than the day we returned ben-i miss him so much. All i wanted to say was that if anybody reading this was interested in giving ben a home i am quite happy to be contacted via ruth. I really wish that ben will find a quiet home with someone who understands greyhounds and has another dog(i feel he relish's in the company of another dog) I just want to be clear that if anyone thinking of rehoming ben has any doubts at all-please do not hesitate to contact me-just aks ruth for our phone number xxxx

Poor Ben
having had a "free spirit" greyhound (my beautiful IZZY) I know how hard it is helping some Greys to realise they have found a forever home and that love is unconditional. I hope this sweet greyhound who has done nothing wrong will find someone again soon. He sounds a joy to have and has none of the problems I have overcome with my soulmate Izz. My other grey Dylan sounds just like Ben. Just wants a "mommy" a comfy bed, walks and of course food! and all is right in his world!

Felt the need to comment on bens return seeing as my initial report had been so positive of how ben had settled in with us. Today has been a horrendous day and i miss ben so much i cant say. Bottom line was, our hectic family and boystrous toddlers were just too stressful for Ben and we made the decision to return Ben with very heavy hearts. I cant say how good he has been with our dog and every other dog we have made contact with and also how well behaved he has been in the home. I truly hope Ben will find a lovin home very soon where he can really relax and enjoy his retirement in peace. A very, very special boy who i am devastated to see leave our home.

Unfortunately Ben is being returned today. The family have tried hard with Ben but we think he is finding his family life too busy especially with the young children. We think he would suit a quiet house, with older children and hope that he will finally find a 'forever home' soon.

Hi Ruth,
Ben (or benny boy as he is now fondly known) has been with us for 6 weeks now and we are totally smitten. He settled in from day 1 and considering we have a VERY yappy yorkshire terrier and 2 babies he surpassed all our expectations! I think our yorkie chloe would have felt a bit miffed only she is loving all the extra walks! Ben is fitter than ever and has an appetite like we have never seen. We can only say how pleased we are with him and how he has just slotted in to our very busy family-id have 5 of them if we had the space! That is probably the only drawback to having a greyhound- we all sit on the floor whilst he enjoys the sofa!!!! xxx
