So very sad to read that Luke has gone to Rainbow Bridge. I remember his arrival at the kennels so well when he was in such a sad state and how happy everyone was when he got his lovely new home. I know the time he spent there was very happy and that he was very much loved. Run free and strong Luke with our other Bridge hounds. Sending a massive hug to your family. xx

I received such sad news today that Luke had to be put to sleep as his back legs gave up on him. My thoughts are with Gordon who is understandably heartbroken - he did so much for him after he was returned in such a sorry state when he had come back as a returnee and brought him back to happiness. Run free fella

had a bad night with luke with the fireworks absolutely terrified him curling up in the corner and literally shaking even after giving him rescue remedy but after covering him in his blanket and some tlc we got settled needless to say I ended up on the settee all night. This morning back to normal food his priority.

just a quick update luke went to vets last night for his check up after last weeks visit his toe infection has cleared up nicely and has put on nearly 2kgs he is so loving and has become a proper clingon wouldn't be without him now.happy new year to everyone.

luke is a special boy as of course is bert he certainly found you at the right time as you did he and bert - what a special christmas this will be for you all- what a difference a week makes cos luke looked so sad last saturday- happy christmas to you all xx

I'm so glad you have adopted Bert, I loved him, but could not have him as he wasn't cat friendly. You've also had Luke that I was interested in (but would have never fitted in!) Luke and my other new lad bert have settled in really well with my other grey suzy whose now 14 it has given her a new lease of life after pining after her other partner becks who went to rainbow bridge earlier on this year ,not forgetting of course their other friend millie a yorkypoo who loves to get involved . They have given me a new outlook on life after sadly losing my dear wife on 21 dec last year its as though they were sent to be with me.

just wanted to say thank you again to berts mom and dad for taking this wonderful lad home with them and kate told me he,s doing really well with you all and that,s just fab xxxxx

I met Luke this morning. His thinness really, really upset me but he is the most loving, gentle of hounds with a beautiful, wise face. If I hadn't known he was going home with Ruth I think I would have scooped him up and run off with him! He was spending time in the kitchen during the Christmas party and seemed to have no problem with sharing with other hounds. Also he was getting plenty of fuss and treats! A really amazing boy. Sending him lots of hugs. xxxx

i sat with this wonderful wonderful gentleman last night he is so gentle and loving to be honest i was so upset i very nearly put him in my car and took him home- yes he,s a little on the slender side but omg those eyes would melt the hardest heart- he just needs love and boy would you get the most fantastic dog love love love you xxxxxxxxxxx

lisa I know I logged on to read about Luke and my heart went out for him, its just the saddest thing to loose your family at 10 !! oh and that face just melts your heart.... I really hope he finds a home even if only a foster home really soon x

Ah, what a lovely boy! He was doing his best to flirt with Moo but she was more interested in Connor! Loves attention and gave my hand a thorough wash - nearly ended up taking him home as he and Flash jumped in the boot of my car as I was taking Moo home - cheeky pair!
