It was great to see Natalie - proud mum of Lachlan today. He is looking really fantastic and despite several months of settling in problems, I have to thank Natalie for sticking by him even when it has been really tough.

She has given him lots of time, patience, TLC and understanding - he has been very testing and hard work and I am really so grateful that Nat has taken him - for better, for worse! xxxx

It was lovely t c lachlan again tday. He didn't stop waging his tail n headed straight for his favourite place, the kitchen where he had a few treats with my boys n a little lie down on charlies bed. I've really missed him. So glad he's in a great home. Love this boy. X

He is such a clever boy. Round the park, even less pauses, just when dogs went passed. Once they had gone passed he moved on of his own accord and was rewarded with praise and a small treat. Greys are so clever. He wagged his tail on the walk and ears were up and interested. No problem in the house, well mannered lol What more can I say xxxx

Sooo proud of Lachy, all the way round Blackroot Pool (45 mins), occassional pause (small yappy fluffy, cyclist and loud noise) but lasted seconds rather than minutes, loads of encouragement, praise (few treats) and soon on his way again, even managed a light uphill run at the end. Such a star xxxxx Straight to the sofa for a snooze...might join him lol xxx

Back to his handsome self xxxx Very waggy and cuddly. Off to sutton park (avoiding bees !!!) xxxx

Poor Lachy is recovering from a ??? bee sting, swollen face and not as much of a waggy tail as normal :-( Steroid injection and antibiotics, and fingers/paws crossed for a speedy recovery...its sooo sad to see him like this, but he is getting lots of love and cuddles...we promisexxxx

Thankyou everyone, looks like we will be looking at the galaxy !! To fi,charlie,fly its hard not to want to keep them when they settle so well into your home and reward you with a waggy tail and loads of cuddles and kisses. We are struggling with our emotions as we know practically 4 dogs is too much permanently...not just the car issue, eg 1 of us can walk 3 dogs but not 4 safely, and insurance costs etc. However if we can look after Lachy until he can find a special loving forever home than we might have to accept that. (though there will be many tears alround :-( from all of us) I suppose thats the downside to fostering. However bigger car will mean we can all get around in 1 car and be able to foster more easily in the future once Lachy is homed :-( xxxx

I too can recommend the Galaxy, I'm on my 4th! I can get 4 greys in the boot area and my other 2 go on the back seat, and that's only because one of them is old and can't quite manage the jumping in and out and the other one is Iris, who I pamper a bit!

Hi, we have a Galaxy, the 2 rear seats fold down and there's loads of room for our 3 greys, 2 children and all my "essential stuff"! There's lots of room inside and it's lovely to drive, good luck with your car hunting! x

Hi there, just to join in the car debate, a Ford Galaxy is what you need, it may not be the most glamorous car but it has the biggest boot you will find. I am on my 2nd and wouldn't have anything else, and I have 1 husband, 3 children, 3 greys and we sometimes dogsit a 4th grey and everyone fits in no probs, stick a roof box on for your holiday and job done. The 4 wheel drives may look good but have nowhere near as much room, and the galaxy drives really well too, hope this helps, Henri x

Sounds like he is enjoying the company of other dogs! You really have to give me tips on gettinf round the other half... Mine says no to everything.. Two is enough for us... Apparently xxxx

Thank you Emma, have talked about a van, but my hubby has to drive a lot in his job and doen't fancy the idea of a van...although can work on it xxxx we have a mazda 5 which is ok for 3 but not enough for 4, but are going to look at the galaxy and smax at the weekend ( thankyou suejo) and some other big 4 wheel drives...will let you know how we get on xxxx Lachy is a special lad who definately wants to be with hounds (especially close to our big black boy Sam) and loves kids xxxxx

BeckyB-F sell the kids buy the volvo and put the seats down? Not really!!! We were looking at a mercedes vito loads of room for everyone. Similar to what Emma has said about her hubbies van, they do a version which just looks like a big MPV.

A Seat Alhambra or Ford Galaxy or similar, with the two back seats removed - there's still plenty of room for 5 inside as well. Sadly we traded ours in for a smaller model before we knew we were having greys...

Ooh, well done Lachy, sounds like you might have a home if the logistics can be sorted out! The car with the biggest boot we could find was the Honda Accord (believe me - I looked for 2 years!). This can comfortably fit 4 greys if one of the back seats are down, but that doesn't help if you've also got to fit in 3 kids :0/ Unless anyone else has any ideas, I don't think you'll get a 'car' which will do the job - it'll have to be a people carrier/MPV of some description. My husband has got a new van and is currently selling his old one - it's a Citroen Dispatch (like the RGT animal ambulance) but it has windows in the back and back seats which clip in and out to make it an MPV. We used to use this to transport the kids and dogs around before I got my Accord, and the greys fit in a doddle. Let me know if you'd like to see the van, or if you'd like to see how you get on trying to fit everyone in the Accord! Em x

Lachy has settled into family life really easily xxx Two walks to the park, managed all the way there, around the park and a free running session too..just needed a bit of encouragment and praise xxx He ran around with the other 3 dogs really well (was doing a bit of showing off too lol). Eating well, behaves wonderfully...we adore him xxxx Anybody know of a car that will fit 3 children and 4 dogs ? Have looked at volvo 70 but not big enough for 4 dogs....any ideas let me know xxxxx

This boy is just too easy to love xxx Expected a disturbed night...but no. He made his bed and after 2 mins was asleep with the other dogs, and we woke up to the fastest wagging tail ever xxxxx Ate breakfast with the others...again no probs. He loves cuddles and fuss and seems really comfortable with our dogs and the kids. Off for a walk soon xxxx He is fantastic xxxxx

Hiya Becky, well done for looking after Lachy for a bit - I'm sure all he needs is his confidence boosting up. Our first grey Kevin used to stop mid walk, but as you've discovered, with plenty of encouragement, treats and of course deception ;0) he was soon enjoying his walks. Maybe he'll realise he's happier and more confident walking with your pack, I know Kevin became a hundred times more confident when Sadie joined us, and even more so with Moo. I wonder if he's been tried with a Mekuti wrap? Might be worth having a word with Ruth or Julie Sadler. Let us know how he gets on... Em x

Lachy has been with us just a few hours and is being a fab boy. Such a happy waggy tail, and a huge lover of cuddles and kisses. Met all four cats, has had a sniff but then walks away, has enjoyed cuddles from the kids and is very gentle around them. No bother around food, and he ate his with the other 3 hounds with not a hint of a grumble and no hint of bowl throwing! Keen going out for a walk but stopped halfway, however with a bit of zigzaging (making him think we were going home) he managed the walked and stopped for just a few seconds occassionally....think its a confidence thing and we will work on it...amazing what a few treats can inspire lol xxx now fast asleep on the sofa after a yummy hide chew and no toileting problems, he seemed to know where to go already. Will let you know how he gets on overnight. PS Sam said 'thankyou' to Aunty Ruth for his new bowl...it slowed him down and he probally tasted more of his food xxxx
