Tessa is beginning to settle really well. Shes still a little unsure of our laminate flooring but we have been out and sourced a lot of fluffy blankets to help her around the house. Tessa and vera have really made our house a home. Me and my husband adore them. 2 golden girls!

Well the lovely Tessa has been with us for some time now, but even after all this time she never fails to amaze. When we first fostered her I did think she was deaf (never answered to her name). But its taken well over 18 months to get her to come close when asked. But if she needed all this time its o.k. But she is so well behaved you wouldn't think you had her here with our other three girls. She attends the Blood Donations with our Flossie and is so laid back.
Hope her past family get to know she is doing well.
Love from Sylv & John xxxxxxxx

Vet says Tessa progressing well and to go back on Friday with Minty (the shorter tailed girl). Well she's seems a lot happier today and eating better.
Tessa as I said is not cat friendly and always wears a muzzle, but as to Sheena she had never shown a sign of this reaction.
I had to take Sheena on my walk on Tuesday ,John was at Daybreaks with Flossie. as I felt it was best not to leave her at home with Tessa & Minty, we met two tiny yorkies and she didn't show a sign of interest!!!!!

Poor Tessa. Hope she will be feeling better very soon. Our 2 girls are awful when they see cats and Lena can get a bit overwrought and bark at her sis but that's where it ends thankfully, though it's easy to see how things escalate. Sending hugs for everyone and hope the stress levels are not to high xx

Hi muddypaws, we have the same reaction with our two girls. Lucy is still very reactive to other dogs and both her and Misty to cats so whenever they are seen our two have a go at each other. Luckily no damage as we always muzzle them when out, mainly to prevent other 'friendly' off-lead dogs who come running up too close from getting hurt. It always sounds so fierce though. In the house they are fine together and even play.

Tuesday 08 Jul 12:50

Hi Sylv. Sorry to hear about Tessa....your girls really are in the wars at the moment!! The little devils really do test our love for them at times, dont they!!!! We have the same problem with Davey. If he spots a cat or dog in the park, he will immediately turn on the dog he is walking with, and he shows no recognition of what he has done. Pip and Nell have also done it on occasions too!! l think it may be frustration at seeing another furry...but not being able to get to them. So now, l'm afraid, it's muzzles at all times. Better to be safe than sorry. Hope she and Minty are soon feeling much better. Luv to you all.X.

Our lovely girl is not too well at this time, having been bitten. She has a deep wound to the neck an a couple of smaller ones. Back at the vet on Wed., One thing she has eaten this morning.

Well with one girl and another, here I go again. Tessa is not cat friendly in any way. But this morning on the walk with the 4 girls, she kicked off (AT A C. A .T) and our Sheena took exception. Which has caused a problem. I think a visit to the vet's on Monday will have to take place. (If you look at the rehoming photo they are together). Sylv

Hi Sylv and John. Happy new year to you all.( And to all at Daybreaks.) I often wonder how you cope with four lovely greys! Angel Lucy often lives up to her nickname of Lucifer...she is such a bundle of energy, especially when she spots other dogs on our walks. We do a good job of waking up the village, for such a little grey she has a huge bark! Larry is now on 3 lots of medication for his heart, he started with water tablets to relieve pressure on his breathing. Misty is dong fine.

Sorry Sylv and John - we were really taken with Tessa but we felt that Jaylo would come put of her depression quicker after the loss of Fay if she had a young excitable 'newbie' to show the ropes to. We think that Tessa would make a fantastic first greyhound for someone as she has all the qualities that make greyhounds such wonderful companions without them having to go through the initial conditioning to domestic life.
So come on someone give this gentle affectionate girl a permanent home

Tessa is still well behaved, had a few grumps from them all as they all like to swop dishes at mealtimes but nothing serious. Tessa walks extremly well with our other three and has so far never attempted to go upstairs. Getting results with her bounciness around treats. Am in the prossess of teaching 'shake a paw' for things. Sylv

Bouncing around treat time hardly noticeable, so getting there. Tessa lying close by no problem.

Well the family came for tea on Sunday evening, no problems. All four lay around on the floor, not getting up to the table or even a blink of an eye.
Today all went well with breakfast, all lying here by ones side.
Tessa is a lot calmer. and is now coming to her name.
Have muzzles off at this time, will see how we go. But no problems so far. All have just had a brush no problems, Tessa seemed pleased with the attention.

Just for info. Tessa was very well behaved yesterday. We went out for a couple of hours at lunch time and then to my sons BBQ on the evening, all well when we got home. But I do agree with Remit she can be very bouncy where food or snacks are concerned, but working on this. She got into bed with Minty yesterday morning all went well, but later in the day tried to get with in Flossie not such a good idea, nothing serious. Has a very waggly tail. Up date later, family coming for tea will see.

Well all went well overnight even with the warm night. Tessa toilets outside, but we do have the doors open all of the day.
She had a small bark if you call it that as she has dropped her bit of pigs ear in the basket, but I took it to say that's mine as all have muzzles on at the moment. Otherwise very well behaved and keeping out of the sun. On the treat side she does like to get in first (I think because she's up against three others she will lose out) ??

I had Tessa for the day whilst the kennels were being repainted and she is such a sweet little girl. She got a little bouncy when she was super excited to see us (possibly because we were carrying our lunch) and she jumped up to rest her front paws on Max's back so she could get a better look at our food!

From the few hours that I was looking after her I got the impression that she is a really lovely girl and would make a fantastic addition to any house.

Sadly due a change of circumstances Tess has been returned today. She has lived with the family for two years and they are heartbroken at having to return her. They have asked us to give the following comments: Tess is the PERFECT pet, she is fabulous with children, loves to play and walks well with other dogs. Fully housetrained and can be left on her own during the day. She is very adaptable and her owner feels she will settle into a new home very quickly. Tess has brought an immense amoount of happiness to the family and everyone she has met and they will all miss her terribly.

Sunday 26 Jun 16:28

Hiya, I have been very lucky and been out for a walk to Kingsbury Water Park today. I went with Auntie Emma, her family and 3 greys Kevin, Sadie and Moomin. I was such a good girl and lay down in the car straightaway on the short journey to the park. On the walk, I met a yorkie, staffie, badger hound, rough collie, border collie, borzoi, saluki and lots of ducks and geese and I was very well behaved with all of them. I walked beautifully on the lead and I had lots of cuddles, especially off the little people who thought I was cute, and I kept turning on my charm to try and get people to take me home - lots of people seemed interested in me, but that's hardly surprising is it? Anyway, I went back to Auntie Emma's house afterwards where I met her 2 British Blue Shorthair cats Monty and Poppy. I didn't notice them at first, but when I did I was very polite and just had a little sniff, but Monty didn't like that and hissed at me :o( I think I will steer of cats in future - they are far too contrary for my liking! Then I had a run in the garden with Kev, Sadie and Moo, and crashed out in the lounge after testing out all of the beds. Oh, and everyone seemed really surprised and happy that I did all my wees and poohs outside - well where else are you meant to do them? Auntie Emma said it was like I'd lived here all my life and, if I'm not mistaken, looked a little bit upset when it was time for me to come back to Daybreaks where my dinner was ready waiting for me (we've got Auntie Ruth trained very well in that respect!) Anyway, I'm now crashed out in my kennel with Sunny who also had a fab day out. I love it at Daybreaks, but from what I've seen today, I think I would really really love a family and home of my own. I love licking people and have got a really waggy tail and I would love to share some of that happiness with my very own family. Love and licks, Tess xxx
