Added by Jess&Koda

Updated: Monday 01 Jan

Buzz came back into the kennels today after being homed in April 2007. This sad boy needs a lot of TLC - do you think you could give him the love and care he deserves? He will stop at Ruth's house until he has been nursed back to good health.

Buzz has had 0 cuddles today (6 all together).
If you register or login, you can give him a cuddle too!

Today was lovely for homing and visitors, however, tinged with sadness for me as it is 5 years today that my first Daybreaks houndie Buzz crossed Rainbow Bridge. He was a special dog as are they all, bad had been returned in a poor state. It didn't take long for him to turn a corner, and I had three and a half wonderful years with him. He is the reason I got involved with Daybreaks, I will be forever grateful to him for this. Most of you will know I have had several more greys from here and previously from other organizations. Love you, miss you, thank you for introducing me to this wonderful place. Bless you. Xx

A note to my Buzz.

I can't believe it has been 2 years since you broke my heart and I had to let you cross The Bridge. There is not a day that goes by where I don't look at your photo, sometimes I smile, sometimes I cry. I wish I could hold you in my arms again, but I know I can't. So until we meet again my boy, I shall hold you in my heart. Love and miss you always. xxxxx

So very sorry to hear your sad news. We too have lost more than one of our doggy friends in a year so understand your double sadness - a couple of years ago we lost two beautiful lurchers within weeks of each other and before then others in the same year. Buzz did have a friend waiting for him at Rainbow Bridge though. The photos of him are lovely - a very handsome lad. Try to remember all of the good times, I am sure there were loads of them. XXX

Thanks Muddypaws. Was really difficult as I had lost another only 6 weeks before. This made the pain of losing Buzz even harder to take. Norman was not from Daybreaks and was 13 when he crossed the Bridge. The kennels do look so different and as you say, it just shows how much hard work Ruth and the team have put into this.

Hi Wispa'sMum.Yes....the runs did look awful then !!! It makes you realise how much Daybreaks has improved in just a few short years !!! A shining testament to you, and everyone involved. Totally amazing !!!! I hope that you returned that wire mesh fencing to the building site that you nicked it from !!!!!!! XXX.

Thank you for your kind comments. We had him in April 2009, so just over 3 and a half wonderful years. So happy to have had him after he was returned to Daybreaks in a bit of a sorry state.

Just to let you know that Buzz has settled in brilliantly. He loves his food and his new friends, he got on with Max (Bob) and Storm (Norman) straight away. He is getting shinier every day and likes his cod liver oil and evening primrose oil capsules. He didn't like the stairs to start with, but had no problem getting up them now he's discovered a very comfy bed, which he also likes to sleep on at night (bit of a squeeze)! He likes giving kisses and is very gently, although he does like walking around the room with his jaws around either Bob or Normans head! Will keep you updated and bring him in to see you very soon.

I just wanted to add that age shouldn't put you off. If anything I think the older the dog the more docile and easy to please they become. Hope Buzz finds a great home soon.

Buzz is doing really well at our house. He has had no accidents and is great with our 5 greys. He is interested in our chickens and excitable when he meets other breeds of dogs in the park. He loves to lay on the sofa and is quiet and sweet natured, enjoying cuddles and pork pies as a treat!!!

what a gorgeous but sad looking little face, it breaks my heart when they look so sad, hopefully he'll find someone to love him very soon, meanwhile we shall all have to give him extra cuddles when we can. xxx
