Our grey, Mary, had terrible separation anxiety. We were off work/school for her first four weeks with no problems but when we started leaving her, she became totally distressed. We had some excellent advice from a lovely lady from Greyhound Gap and managed to overcome this, fortunately, but we had to work very hard and it took time. Now she's much more relaxed and settled, but she goes in her crate when we leave her as she gets into mischief otherwise! I hope Belle manages to overcome her anxiety soon. Good luck!

I agree with Goldie's mum - I hope they are not put off.... The good thing is they met our family of greys and if we could just find a Basil or Wispa clone, this will be perfect..... they have also met Foxy which is enough to put anyone off ha ha!

Belle had a comfy night here but does have awful separation anxiety when you leave her so we are going to try and help her overcome this... She is just so beautiful it is such a shame she can be so stressed :-(

Oh i feel so sorry for Belle's owners who have tried so hard with her, I'm sure the right home is out there for Belle and I hope that they have not been put off havin a grey in the future as they give such unconditional love!! Good luck to you all xxx

Very sorry to hear things didn't work out this time for Belle and her owners. I hope Belle will find a home with a friend to keep her company and her previous owners will maybe try and re-home another needy hound in the near future. Kind regards xx

Belle is being returned to the Trust this evening as she is still struggling to settle as an 'only child'. I feel so sorry for her owners because they have tried everything. She is gradually improving but it is kinder for her to find her a home where she has the company of perhaps another dog which will make her happier.

I took Wispa and Foxy to visit her on Monday evening and she was wagging her tail and clearly happy to see her greyhound friends. She will stop at my house until we can find her a home as the kennels are full at the moment.

I have been to visit Belle and her owners this evening. She is still having separation anxiety and we are helping her owners to tackle this. She is starting to improve but it is such a change from the life she knows and still early days. I really admire their love, dedication and support for Belle and hope she starts to settle very soon.

my mum was amazed when she saw how excited you got when your owner to hopefully be came and looked at you. your owners will have a fun time with you. :)

Belle left us yesterday to go back to the kennels after staying with us for a few days. She is such a friendly girl, she settled in straightaway. She loves a lot of fuss & her tail wags all the time. She's dry overnight & loves her food, & everyone elses if she can get it. She'll be a fantastic pet for some lucky family. Val,Ray,Peg & Max.xxx
