So shocked to see that Buddy has died, we only had him for 10 days and wished it had worked out, but we have never forgotten him and looked on here to see if there was any news.
Sorry to your owners too, they must miss you terribly. Run free Buddy. oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoox

Oh no, I remember seeing Bud's photos. We were looking for a greyhound at the time and Buddy was my fave, so handsome. We actually ended up with a dog from another rescue (also called Buddy!) Looking at your photos, it is heartwarming that your family loved you, you had other dogs around you and that you passed away quickly at home. Seven is just too young to go though. Best wishes to Buddy's family. I'm very sad for you XX

This boy is just a big softie, he loves nothing more than to lie on the floor next to the sofa and have his belly rubbed. Easy to walk and gets on well with other dogs. Very placid. Great with small children and so good looking. Where's that permanent home for you Buddy, I can't recommend this lad enough. Travels really well in the car too as you'd expect from a grey. Love ya Buddy, I haven't forgotten you. x x

Right then Buddy. Let's get you sorted. You have been here only a week or so less than Fire. You are a lovely big, softy and we need to get you a permanent home. Best smile on with matching waggy tail, if you please! :)

Hi Buddy. If you're still going to Stratford tomorrow, I hope you enjoy your little adventure. Missing you loads and keep logging on to see you lovely face. Not sure if it's a good idea for me to come and see you or not, even thought I saw you walking down Lode Lane today, but perhaps I was dreaming. Hope you find the home of your dreams sooner rather than later, so I can imagine you with your feet in the air, loving your retirement. Love ya Bud. x x x x James says hi too.

Thank you so much! Appreciate that. We sound so soppy but really want things to work out in our little house. We are coming up to kennels at the weekend to touch base again. Hard not to fall for these darlings! XxXxX

Wednesday 16 May 17:15

Hi Bella, things tend to work themselves out eventually, even though things sometimes look as if they'll never work out. I'll keep watching and hope you find the right one. As each one gets rehomed, there's def another one waiting to be snapped up. If you ever want to chat call me on 07753 845644. Thanks x x x

Hi JBM, we've just had a very good home visit from Jill and her colleague. Was v informative, will 'mainly' be looking at boys so will monitor the Buddy situation. He sounds great. Promised not to fall in love 'too much' with these darlings from now on. :-). XxxX

Hi Bella, well good luck with whichever one you choose, though if you've got two girls already, they might need a boy to settle them a bit. Definitely get the Jan Fennell DVD off Ruth £10 I think, before you even bring one home. Well worth it. I used all the techniques on Buddy and had no problems. Take care. x x x x

Tuesday 15 May 23:49

Thank you for that, Buddy sounds as though he was very much loved whilst with you. Bella, our eldest, isn't the easiest to get on with. Trying Meggie tomorrow with her as she was adorable other day and helped alot. Will be up at Daybreaks Sunday so might be asking to see Buddy as he sounds perfect. All depends on Bella. XxXxX

Tuesday 15 May 11:46

Hi Bella. Forgot to add he also met a big black Newfoundland and he takes no notice of medium to large dogs. WHen he sees cats out on a walk, he'll stop and want to watch them, but doesn't go berserk. ;-)

by JimBob'sMom

Tuesday 15 May 11:28

Hi Bella. Buddy went on two walks a day and is wonderful on lead. Just how you want all dogs to be. He has met the following whilst out walking: black labrador (perfect), blue merl Border Collie and choc and white border collie pup, (perfect), Scottish Terrier ( ok, then Scottie growled at Buddy, but Buddy just looked surprised), he's seen a fox and squirrel (very interested) but when I say that, he just gets very alert and pulls a little on the lead, but no spinning, lungeing whatsoever. He did come across a small cream fluff ball, which I can only assume was a dog ona lead, but it was that fluffy, I couldn't really see the head (Pomeranian or something similar I'd guess). I would say anything from Cocker Spaniel size up he'd hardly blink at, but smaller would need some training and socialisation. He loves playing with footballs and squeaky toys, my 4 year old loved hugging him, my two year old kept giving him kisses and he didn't bat an eyelid. If you ended up having him, if you ever want someone to look after him while you are on holiday, I'll do it for you free of charge with pleasure. He loves lying on the floor fully stretched out in living room and will follow you around, he even lay on the floor in the kitchen, but in my small kitchen it made life difficult. All I can say is Super dog that would compliment any family, made easier if no small furries to adapt to. I'll watch this space for more news.

Dear JBM, I really feel for you all. Buddy sounds and looks a lovely boy. I have a 4 yr old little boy. Due to some recent experience, trying not to get heart set on things too much. How did Buddy get on with other Dogs? Saw about cats but we don't have any. Have 2 girls though that are non greys. Any advice you can give would be appreciated. XxxxX

Monday 14 May 16:09

Thanks LadyVictoria, I'm devastated, can't stop thinking about Buddy. He is a lovely boy, was totally clean in the house, loved his walks, was very well behaved, great with my boys age 2 and 4 but didn't get on so well with one of my cats. Doesn't mean he wouldn't be OK with someone elses. He will make someone a very lucky human who gives this chap a home, just so want it to be me, but don't think it will work in my current circumstances. Though I would still be happy to foster him if he needs it and if he was ever returned for any reason in his entire life, I would love to be given first refusal to have him in case my circumstances have changed. I love you Buddy. x x x x x

Next update. Buddy is now fab with the birds, he takes no notice of them, he has also met the cats and was lying down and just looked, but when it ran off he sprang to his feet, but as I had the lead on him, he never ran after them. If we carry on like this, I'm sure they'll be fine together and then we can go for a green sign. Fingers crossed everyone. He is so fab. x x

Monday 07 May 12:03

Well Buddy update. He's been totally clean (touch wood), he's been great with the kids. Each day has got better with the birds, but he can't come off lead yet as he climbs the bird cages, but he is starting to totally ignore them now when he comes in the living room. The cats have mostly stayed upstairs, he has seen them and is VERY interested so we need to work on that. He walks lovely next to the the pushchair and loves his cuddles, settles pretty quick of a night time, so all in all pleased with progress. So glad to see all the reserved dogs over the weekend. I'll keep you posted on Buddy. x x

Just gave you my cuddle today and can do it for real tomorrow. We all can't wait to have you home tomorrow Buddy, I can't help thinking the duvet we've got you will end up with me sitting on it, while you make yourself comfy on my sofa with your paws in the air, budge up Buddy, make room for me.
