Maybe Freda thinks she's helping save on electricity by licking the plates clean!! She is obviously finding her feet and deciding that it's fun to get into absolutely everything - bless her paws. xx

Well Freda has a new skill - she can open the dishwasher to get at dirty plates that need licking clean unless you shut the door until it clicks! This girl has so much personality, she makes us laugh x

Freda doesn't feel too well tonight..... I'm sure it has nothing to do with the 2kg bag of markies she stole off the top of the bread bin at the back of the kitchen worktop when ed went out today! Yes we know it was her CIS she could hardly finish her tea. Sympathy.... No! Bless her cotton white socks x

Ah DivasMum - Freda is a real "foodie" and thinks everything edible is hers!! She was on her own while she was with us though, so it wasn't too much of a problem but I'm sure she'll improve with time. I'm glad things are otherwise going well, they're lucky girlies to have a new home with such a lovely place to walk too. x

So Freda & Pearl have come home with us. I have never seen a dog war so fast, meal times do need supervising! Teddy is coping so far & they are playing musical beds quite happily. Just gone out with their daddy & big brothers around chasewater for a long tiring walk!

It's been an absolute joy & pleasure to have had Freda staying with us for a while. She's learnt so much over the past couple of weeks, is housetrained and loves nothing better than to snooze cuddled up against you. She's had brief contact with other breeds and showed no adverse reaction & is so much better at food times now. She is ready to be someone's loving companion and I really hope it happens for her very soon. Good luck my lovely girl. xx

Freda's had another busy day out visiting and getting to know the outside world. Her cheeky personality is beginning to show itself a little now - she goes into the kitchen, picks up my boot, brings it and drops it back on her bed - then goes back for the other one!! She makes no attempt to chew them, just likes them on her bed for some reason!! Still very food orientated, but getting much better. She does need you to be firm with her, but she does respond well which is lovely to see.

So happy to report that Freda continues to go from strength to strength. We had a "mini awareness roadshow" up at Blooms Garden Centre after people spotted her sitting like a star whilst we had our morning coffee at the Patio Cafe! She met next door's yappy Northumberland Terriers this morning and the only reaction she had, when the female made a barking lunge at her, was to look suprised, step back and sit down! She is really beginning to listen and respond so well to instructions, and has been clean every night since arrival. She is shaping up to be a truly beautiful companion for some lucky person. x

Freda would like to report that she has been to a place called Blooms Garden Centre today. She would also like it to be known that she has mastered the things called "stairs" and can go up and down beautifully. She has learned to sit for her treat and although food is of huge importance, she does listen and responds well. A second quiet, clean night - this girl is an absolute treasure and thinks she quite likes this living at home thing! x

All is going really well with Freda, she was quiet and clean overnight. Eating well (with no barking!) and every time a packet rustles she's there with raised ears & expectant looks!! She must have one of the loudest sniffs I've ever heard, it's so funny to hear. So far so good, she is settling well and has developed a very waggy tail bless her.

Freda has arrived at her foster home. Travelled well in the car and has investigated absolutely everything in the house! Unsuprisingly she's a bit bemused by all the new sights & sounds, but is now chilling on her bed. x

Aimee - totally agree about the food thing, she's just letting us know that she's there and would like feeding please!!!She really is a treasure and I love walking her (I volunteer every Wednesday) as she's so gentle and walks beautifully next to you, and I agree, she wouldn't have to bark in her own home at feeding time as the circumstances would be so different. I hope someone falls in love with her very soon. x

Beautiful new pick of my old girl frieda.
Can't believe you haven't being snapped up.
Yes shanes mum, she was very vocal in the racing kennels too when it was feeding time, especially if she didn't get fed instantly and would watch others being fed. This wouldn't be an issue in a home as she would be fed first (If shes not with another grey) and wouldn't be able to see food pass her like in kennels. Don't be put off by her loud barking as once shes out and in company of people she becomes calm and a very affectionate girl.
Good luck girly

Well what can I say about Freda, she's perfect on the lead you don't even know you've got her, when the labs were going mental she didn't even look and just carried in walking, them when the farms little dog came out and started to walk towards the gate only her half ear went up(where as some of the others went mad!) so I you want a really calm girl she would be perfect!

Crazy Freida! shes a lovely girl, who does need to be taught some manners as she can snatch food and be quiet bouncy, but she does learn quickly. She LOVED to race, she was a really good bitch who ran and won alot of races, so she deserves a loving forever home. Friedas very cheeky, she nicked my glove out my pocket and ripped it to pieces and then thought it was a game of "chase" when i tried getting it off her haha. She loves fuss and would stand there all day and let you give her some attention :)
Enjoy retired life crazy girl
