very sadly our lovely old boy Rick passed away on Tuesday evening it was very sudden and he didn't suffer .We were lucky enough to have had him in our lives for nearly 7 years but we are missing him dreadfully run free big lad xx

well, we,ve had rick a week now although it seems alot longer- he is my perfect boy and there is really nothing else i can add- if you want to know how he,s getting along you can check in with my daughter sarah at the kennels, if not we,ll probably see you all at the show in october xx

rick is just a quiet lovely lovely gentleman- he has just met my grandson who is very noisy and quite rough and he isn,t in the least bit bothered- he is clean and just wonderful- he is the huggiest of my three and spends most evenings curled up next to me on the sofa x

rick has discovered the bin now and we have re- named him sir pee alot- excellent in the house and not whining as much now- nearly knocked me over at lunch- time when i got home by climbing on my shoulders-we will be signing him up either fri or sat he is definately staying put this time we all adore him and even my snappy little poppet of a girl has fallen in love with him- thanks everyone for all your comments

this is my final comment for sunday- thanks ruth for letting us take this boy we are in love- sarah, cracker and charlie you knew i would have dick didn,t you- and by the way he,s asleep on sarah,s lap on the sofa as we speak xx

well we,ve actuall y sat down for a while this afternoon- the other 2 have treated him as though he,s always been there- duffy seems to like having another boy around and now kat has got 2 boys to snap at- we,ve just been for a walk round elmdon park which rick found great -especially when we saw a squirrel- pulled a bit but wasn,t too bad with the small dogs- he is very very fussy and huggy

hi everyone- i,ve just picked up rick and he,s come home for a trial- my dogs kat and duffy have just accepted him straight away and although he,s only been here an hour he is being a really good boy but he does like the look of our lunch- i think this one is also a keeper

Rick is such a lovely looking boy and has such nice manners. loving and handsome ...surprised that he is still with us....anything he does not know he will learn as he is bright and eager to please...give this boy a chance. xxxx

Hi! I am the one who has Rick at my home tonight. While I don't think he is ours to keep permanently (appears my son might be allergic) I can attest to his wonderful personality. He's calm, loves his walks, behaves well with other dogs. He will make someone the perfect pet! I just wanted to take him home to give him a bit of extra fuss tonight!

Oh no! So sorry about this. It must have been a very hard decision, but probably best taken sooner rather than later for both their sakes. I hope Rick gets snapped up again very quickly x

We had to make a really sad decision with Rick and have returned him to Daybreaks through no fault of his own. We were prepared to deal with the challenges of adopting a greyhound but Rick presented none of these. He was clean in the house, quickly learned to stay away from the table when we were eating and was completely unfazed by the dishwasher and vacuum. He even tackled the stairs without prompting! He settled really well after a walk and his dinner. Unfortunately our four year old daughter has had an extreme stress reaction to having a dog in our house and we felt that it was unfair to both her and Rick to continue with the situation. Rick did absolutely nothing to cause her reaction, he was fantastic with both of the kids and enjoyed lots of cuddles from our six year old son. We hope Rick will find a home where he can relax and enjoy being part of the family, he's a gorgeous boy and truly deserves it.

I'm your 24th cuddles Rick and that would be my last cuddle as you will now enjoy REAL WARM cuddles from your new family.

Please take good care of Rick. He is well loved and really taken good care of by his trainer's family. He is used to love and affection so it is not a surprise he is a loving boy. Have a long wonderful life Rick! - Myrna xxx

Rick has had a very exciting afternoon out at the Wythall carnival and dog show.He was an absolute star and has been miggling amongst over a hundred dogs of all shapes and sizes.
Unbelievable he showed no interest in any of the other breeds including fluffy little things and a very large german shepherd that lunged at him! He went in a couple of the show rings and although he didnt win any of the classes he impressed people with his impecable manners and the fact he is newly retired.
He was a quiet boy today and is very affectionate he loved all the cuddles bestowed on him today he was great with young children and adults alike.
Rick likes to lean on you and seems to adore attention.
We took a walk round the other carnival which was lively and noisy and again this big boy took it all in his stride.
All in all we had a great day out.Rick is a stunning brindle boy with a personality to match. His behaviour today was remarkable given his brain must have been overloaded with all those other "weird and wonderful" breeds. I think this boy will be surely be snapped up very soon he has so much going for him.
Rick it was a pleasure to spend a lovely day out with you and I am sure your forever home wont be long in coming.

i am not a 'brindle girl' at all as most of you know but this one could win me over on sheer personality, he is such a sweet dog...xxx

I know Rick's trainer and I can vouch that he and Roo is well looked after. He is quite intelligent that he can work out opening kennel doors if closed carelessly. LOL. He is quite a character and never a bore.
Whoever will adopt him is one lucky person. - Myrna
