beautiful little Jewel has met a small Jack Russel today and she did really well, she is such a sweetnatured little girl and loves to be fussed and really pushes into you when you cuddle her. judging by her reaction with the small dog i would think that she may well be able to live with chickens, she is intelligent and keen to please so that always helps . keeping my fingers crossed that she will find her perfect home soon. xxxx

Hi Tinaj, we have just homed a greyhound to a house with very noisy love birds! Some will tolerate different things and others need some training.... give me a call if you like :-)

Hi tinaj, I've got 4 greys with 2 cats and 6 chickens, and Ruth (the lady who runs the kennels) has got greys, chickens and ducks, so there should be no barrier. You are right it absolutely depends on the dog and Ruth and the team will make sure that you are matched with a suitable grey - best thing to do is ring to make an appointment to pop up and have a chat and see the lovely greys :0)

Thats reasurring . I will have to give the kennels a ring to discuss and check it wouldnt be a problem with them. I was told that some places wont home greyhounds with anyone who has chickens and small animals. Surely it depends on the individual dog. Hopefully it wont prove to be a barrier.

Minnie, my greyhound, is ok with our chickens. She is alright with smaller dogs too. (If they run / bounce around she can get a bit keen, but nothing that time and a bit of training can't fix. When introduced gently though she is absolutely fine with them.)

She does like cats, but I think she isn't so keen on the chickens as they move very differently and don't go anywhere near as fast. I wouldn't trust her roaming with the chickens in the garden (we wouldn't trust our retrievers out there with them) but she ignores them when they are in the run and when they are right next to our french windows. :) I've also taken her out on a lead and muzzle with the chickens loose and she just looked at them with her ears pricked when they ran around. The chickens (daft things that they are) came right up to me and the dog and Minnie was interested, but only mildly.

hi. My old greyhound looked just like this pretty girl. My old one was so well behaved with other small dogs and our chickens. What are the chances of me finding another one the same? Keep thinking about getting another greyhound but it would have to accept the chickens so keep putting it off. mmmm temptation lol
