Twinkle is doing really well, she's very affectionate and loves to curl up next to you and we've all fallen in love with her. Unfortunately, we've only had a couple of days when we've all been out of the house to test whether she can cope with this but I'm hoping we can do this next week. She is a pleasure to walk but has suddenly started growling at other dogs when they come near so we have to muzzle her at the moment whilst we're working on this. We're hoping to make a decision next week.

Twinkle has been helping me with the housework today - defrosting and reorganising the freezer. I had to retrieve a frozen bread roll from her and a pack of frozen chicken breasts which she was in the process of liberating from their freezer bag. Looks like she and Lucy will now be having chicken for dinner tomorrow - bless her!

Twinkle has settled in brilliantly. There have been no signs of anxiety when we leave both greys in the house alone as yet. She is very attentive and used to follow us everywhere but now seems just as happy sprawled out on the floor without any fuss. She has now perfected the lie down to get a treat rule (not bad as she's only been here a week) albeit she does try to steal Lucy's when she's finished her own. She spent a lovely evening chasing a Norfolk Terrier around our house and garden yesterday but we did have to rein her in as she was just too fast for him. She was becoming very possessive when lying on our bed and wouldn't move over, so we don't allow her on there any more unless we've already grabbed our spots and this seems to be working nicely without any grumbles from either side. However, if you tell her to get down, she will straight away, it's just the moving over she has a problem with.

Hi Lucy
I am the previous owner of Twinkle. I am so happy to hear she is fitting in well so far. My son is 6 and Twinkle loved him too so it's great to hear she is following your son around already:-) If there are any questions I am happy to help you. Ruth has my number:-) Sue
Have to say we are all missing Twinkle as she was a great member of our family. Our other grey 'Breeze' is still missing her but we are helping her to adjust.

Well we turned up at the kennels today and Geoff said "we are not walking out of here with a dog". Technically he says that we didn't as Twinkle is a bitch - he was the one who fell in love with her! She has been an ideal house guest. Our grey Lucy had best learn to eat her dinner up straight away instead of turning her nose up at it as Twinkle finished it off for her. She is a joy on the lead and a joy to feed. She hasn't tried to steal any food and when we fed the two greys together, she waited until Lucy had finished and walked away before mopping up her last few scraps. She follows my son around the house and made herself at home on my daughter's bed along with our grey, albeit at opposite ends with my daughter in the middle. She is very calm and quiet albeit she had a mad half hour tearing around the garden and through the house, after which my carpet also had a brindle pattern. Everything is good so far, so we'll just have to wait and see how we get on when the school holidays are over and we fall back into our regular routine. Fingers crossed!

I'll second that - we're missing her like crazy.

Hi, Twink here,
I've had a great day at Waseley Hills where Hall Green have their monthly walk. There was a family fun day and mini dog show, there were lots of people, dogs of all sorts, lambs and hens and pigs and noisy kids and I wasn't fazed by any of it. I didn't win a prize for prettiest bitch though (judge needs her eyes testing me thinks) Foster mom and dad said I was really good and would make a fabulous pet for some lucky person, you just need to meet me, hint, hint! Anyway the takeaway's arriving soon so I'm off to see what I can scrounge off them.
Bye for now, Twink

Thank you, Lady Victoria, I have had a lovely day starting with playing chase me with Leo round the house and garden, a walk at Kingsbury Water Park, a big dinner (I'm a greedy chops and foster mom has to be ready to grab me so I don't pinch the others food), another walk and a grooming session. I'm pooped out now so I'm going to snooze till supper time.
Night night,
Twinkle

Wishing Twinkle a very Happy Birthday; hope she has had a lovely day. Xxx

This lovely girl has been staying with us this week whilst we try and find her a new home. She's playful, affectionate, well behaved (mostly!) and good on the lead. She went to Sally's training class Monday and was the star of the show. She loves human company so needs a home with someone around most of the time, good with older kids too. She'll be a great companion for someone and I'll be really sorry to see her go, but with 3 oldies and a playful youngster ((Leo) the extra one is a bit too much at the present time. If you think you could offer a suitable home contact Ruth and we can arrange to meet up, either at kennels or here at our home. Be quick though, this girl is so lovely she'll be snapped up in no time!!
Sunday 21 Jul 12:27
Sorry to hear that Twinkle has been returned. Here's hopping that she's snapped up again soon xxx
Saturday 20 Jul 20:28
Very sorry to hear things didn't work out for Twinkle and her family. Xxx
Saturday 20 Jul 11:35
Sadly Twinkle has been suffering from severe seperation anxiety whilst her owners are at work. She has therefore gone out to foster as she would be too distressed being back at the kennels.
