Poor Jim was badly bitten yesterday by another dog. He was extremely lucky to survive as the vet told us the one bite on his neck was millimetres from his jugular vein. Following surgery last night he has come back to our house until he is back on his feet a little. Big hugs to his owner Lorna who is distraught :-( xxxxxxxx

Monday 15 Oct 13:11
Jim what a lucky boy you are first to be found by Daybreaks and then you get yourself a lovely family with lots of doggie friends including a girl friend or as your new mum put it they are like Mr and Mrs. Jim looked fabulous in the ring and made it to the champions ring what a brilliant story.Looking at his pictures when he came into Daybreaks and seeing him yesterday it is hard to believe he is the same dog.
Thats what Daybreaks is all about and yesterday hopefully lots of money was raised by people who appreciate all the hard work the RGT ,Ruth and her team of volunteers put in to enable these dogs to have a safe and secure future.x

So pleased he is doing so well. After such an ordeal, it's great to see he is coping so well with other greys, a home environment and his post op issues. Bless his heart, he truely deserves a good home and soon! Only wish I could oblige, but alas, cannot have two with a baby on the way :(

An update on Jim.... he is doing absolutely brilliant! He is so relaxed and slept well last night downstairs. He loves the window seat and ate all of his breakfast this morning - he loves pilchards and grated cheese :-)
He is finding his way around our house with ease despite such bad eye sight and is fantastic with all of our greys - not a grumble and he has stopped panting. He is such a gentle big fella - love him to bits.
I am overwhelmed at the support we are receiving for him and have raised over £300 with generous donations so far! Thank you so much xxx
Tuesday 25 Sep 20:02

Poor Jim, what a trauma. Sometimes all they want is the love that can be transmitted through a kind human hand. He'll soon be realising that he is Lucky Jim. All the best for a speedy recovery. xxxx

I am overwhelmed at the support this fella is getting - over £180 in just on-line donations in one day! I am massively grateful to Simone Carter for donating her fabulous art by auction and to Carl Doby who has donated two fabulous collars for auction also through Facebook. I will try and add a link....
Jim is off to the vets tomorrow and is then coming back to my house as sadly, due to his blindness, he is upsetting one of the dogs in his foster home. My greys are used to a blind fella (our lovely Max who we lost 2 years ago) and I am sure he will slot in to our house just fine.... I will keep you posted. My grateful thanks to Lorna for looking after him since Friday when he arrived - she tells me he has started eating now and we even had a wag of a tail :-)))
Saturday 22 Sep 22:31
Poor Jim, just pleased he's now being cared for in a loving home until he finds his forever home. At least he'll have a happy last few years. Bless you,Jim. Val,Ray,Peg & Max.xxx (from Spain)

Saturday 22 Sep 09:40

Friday 21 Sep 20:12
Oh jim hope they sort u out mate god bless
Friday 21 Sep 18:25
i wondered whether he had problems with his eyes as they look so opaque but thought it may be the light of the camera. poor little man at long last he will know a bit of love and comfort, hope they can sort him out and that the weak back end is mainly due to not getting any exercise at all. big cuddle to you beautiful boy, hope to get to meet you. xxxx
Friday 21 Sep 18:16
This handsome lad arrived today as his owner has gone into hospital. Jim has been in a home but has lived in a kennel following his failed racing career in 2002. Sadly he is blind in one eye, almost blind in the other, has awful teeth, a growth on his stomach and a weak back end :-( He is booked into the vets for Monday and we are appealing to your generous nature to help towards his care.
Just click the donate button on the right side of his profile page to help him.
Massive thanks to Lorna and Paul who have offered a foster home to this lad to help him back on his feet.
Friday 21 Sep 18:12
You're beautiful. What are you doing needing a home at your age? You should be loved up and spoilt.xx
Friday 21 Sep 18:10
Oh how spooky, just looked at his pedigree and he has the same dad, Toms the Best, as my Ted ( Gorgeous Gus)
Friday 21 Sep 18:09
I wish I could take him home. The oldies have always tugged at my heartstrings but until I got one I was afraid to do so as we might not have long enough together. Then having had a 4 year old for only 3 1/2 ( wonderful) years it has changed my outlook and seeing how grateful 9 year old Teddy is at having his first home comforts makes it all worthwhile. Good luck lovely Jim xx
