Happy Birthday to my Danny Boy! He still loves human contact and the closer he can get to you the better, you may remember how clingy he was and how much he loved cuddles well he hasn't changed one bit :D We are off to Little Dumpledale Farm tomorrow for a week so lots of new sights and things to see which I am sure he will love as he still gets so excited and has to investigate everything when out on his walks. Nan is here to look after the cat and parrot whilst we go away and she brought a pigs ear which was gone in seconds, a walk planned around the lake later this afternoon and then chicken for dinner, no doubt lots of cuddles next to nan on the sofa tonight and then we have to pack his suitcase and an early night ready for tomorrow.

Danny is going on his first holiday in August to The Caravan at Little Dumpledale Farm :D

Took Danny to the vets today for a Health Check as there were a couple of issues i had concerns over. He has developed a small lump on his bum which i thought may be a cyst as it felt like there was stuff inside it but the vet thinks it is healing scar tissue and he also has a pea sized lump on his lower throat. Vet is not too sure what that lump is but we are to monitor it and if it gets any bigger will have a sample taken. She has put him on a weeks course of skin antibiotics to help with his bald bum as it is a tiny bit red in places.Happy to report though that he is generally in very good health. He had lots of fuss and leans on all the customers and receptionists, came face to face with a cat in a carrier and was not bothered at all. He now weighs over 27 kilos.
Ruth i think we have cracked the weeing issue. He has now started to tell us when he needs to go outside. He is absolutely adorable!

Danny is still doing great. He behaved wonderfully on the waseley hills walk last sunday. A few people thought he was a girl because of how small he is :( and commented on how laid back he seemed after just one week being rehomed. His hair is starting to grow back on his bald bum and belly. He has met quite a few non greys on our walks and has been really good with them, he is quite interested to go and meet them all, shows no aggression whatsoever. Still loves his cuddles but not shy and will push himself in when he wants to. Digital camera not working correctly so will have to take some pics on mobile phone and send them in. We could not have wished for a better addition to the family. He is just so lovely!

Just a quick update on Danny (we decided to keep the name as we think it suits him). He is settling in really well, getting on great with the other 2 dogs. Eating very well. Still enjoys lots of cuddles but getting more secure and taking himself off to his bed for longer periods, only a couple of little accidents on the conservatory floor and he is quickly learning not to jump up the work surfaces and that not all food is his and although he loves his food he is not a greedy boy. Playful side starting to come out a little although not quite sure what to do with a toy. Lots of tail wagging! Weather permitting we are off to the Wasely Hills Walk on Sunday.

Danny has gone to live with a half bearded Collie/Spaniel and another grey :-)

Danny has a home so very very pleased for him.Hopefully he will now get all the TLC he needs and deserves.

Sorry we didnt get the chance to home you Danny boy but we are not the average family both my lads have special needs and it was not the right time, not your fault at all, far from it! We chose a greyhound because they make such great family pets and we needed a special kind of dog and you fitted the bill, you have such a gental nature. You even meet our small resident dog ( that must have looked very rabbit like to you!) and were such a good boy. So if you are reading this forum and thinking about adopting Danny.......do it! All the greys are lovely but Danny boy is just a bit special. :)

Difficult to believe that this little boy who is only just 4 ran over 100 races prior to his retirement. You wouldnt think he had that in him.He really does deserve his own comfy bed.

Totally respect the decsion that JENWREN has made better now than it not working out.Everything has to be right at the right time for everyone.Danny's new home is out there and the right match will be found.xxxx

Sadly the family who have reserved Danny have decided it is not the right time to adopt. He met the family's King Charles Spaniel and he was really good yesterday so we are keeping our fingers crossed that he gets picked soon x

So pleased to read that lovely Danny has found a home. We met him at the roadshow on Sunday and he was just so sweet, spent a quite a while leaning against my little boys leg while he stroked him.

I am glad to say we are the lucky family adopting the lovely Danny he meet our little dog today and was a good boy......thank God as this means we can home him. A big thank you to Ruth for all her help and we are so looking forward to fetching him on Weds after the home check. Mind you what a mad time to adopt a grey, right on Halloween and right before bone fire night!!!!!! Lots of love and kisses Danny boy should get you through. ;0) xxx

Danny came to visit us at Notcutts today and he seems a really sweet lad. He's quite small for a boy - standing next to Lola he's not as tall as her, so anyone looking for a smaller boy should check him out and try to see beyond the bald bum etc. With some tlc, good food and nice comfy bedding to help him on his way he should have plenty of scope for improvement. x

Danny went to a road show today.He coped very well with what must have been a bewildering experience for him a large noisy car park lots of people,swishing automatic doors etc.He coped very well and clearly likes people leaning on anyone that took the time to talk and stroke him.
He seems to need a lot of reassurance and likes to be close to you.So much so he tried to get into the front of the car on the way back and spent most of the journey trying to lean his head accross my chest.
He seems happy in the company of other greys and seems to gain confidence from their prescence.
He is really a sweet little lad who will enjoy a household which can give him hundreds of cuddles a day.He was happy to be in the company of children of all ages and enjoyed the attention he has had today.He also enjoyed the sausage and biscuits that Linda had brought with her.
All in all this lovely boy did well for his first big outing as a retired greyhound.
I hope he gets his forever home as soon as possible especially as May his kennelmate has been reserved.

Aww he looks and sounds sweet.with some loving tlc those bald patches will soon vanish and a beautiful shiny black cost will appear (I love blacks for their amazing shiny coat)

This little fella is really gorgeous - he is only small and so very sweet. He wasn't keen on his bath as was quite stressed on arrival but after a big bowl of food he paired up with May and settled well :-)

Looks to me like he needs some TLC.

Danny should be re-named Rooney. Like the footballer he has a bald spot that needs a hair transplant! He looks lovely but could do with some TLC which i am sure he will receive at Daybreaks. He gets my cuddle for today.
